Love Nyder. Shame that Peter is no longer with us. Met him in person at a signing event years ago. The way that he snapped his head up and said "Thank you. That is what I needed to know." is one of the most chilling moments in Doctor Who history for me that makes me shudder each and every time I see it.

Nyder was an amazing character in Genesis of the Daleks. He was so devoted to Davros and the Dalek projects but eventually it led to his downfall. By the very creatures he helped create.

Nyder is one of my favourite villains, like really holds the audience's attention without trying, that cold humourless glare. I really liked hearing him in the audio stories too. Nyder epitomised everything wrong with Kaled society, like Davros would always be an outlier in his beliefs, but Nyder when you see him alongside Ravon, you call tell they're both cut from the same stuff, but Nyder was the more competent, and ruthless, more willing to take that extra unnecessary step. Like he barely offered Ravon a chance to duck before having his guards fire on the Doctor and Harry, you know if Ravon had gone down, Nyder would have chalked it up as an acceptable loss.

@@BH-98, I vaguely remember his voice cracking as he begged for them to be allowed to live. I think you’re right. I also think he was surprised by how unnecessarily brutal the Daleks were being, Davros has a habit of using people even if he hates them, and only kills them if they betray him or are not useful anymore. For the daleks to skip right to the end and not utilise the scientific knowledge of his loyalists must have been harsh even for him.

Peter Myles...RIP to a fantastic actor. Same to Michael Wisher. Both so suited and well fitted for their roles. Michael went on record (I think it was featured in the Davros Connections in 2007) saying that "Without Peter...playing-giving that superb performance that he gave, it would have been very difficult to be the Davros that I wanted to be."

Wouldn't it be interesting if Davros engineered a Dalek _SPECIFICALLY_ to look like one in _Genesis_ so he could treat it as if it were Nyder himself? Like he's coping for the lack of socialism thus showing his mental instability? After all, Nyder was the closest thing Davros had to a friend in the Kaled Dome.

@@snakedaemongaming6590 just because the most recent appearance of Davros had him out of his chair doesn't mean they've changed him. The show is about time-travel, remember? The Children in Need Special takes place at a point in time before Davros' accident that puts him in his chair, and so he is depicted without his chair. It's not a difficult concept to understand.

@@snakedaemongaming6590 Doctor Who has been associating disability with evil for decades, it's a shameful trait of the show that needs rectifying. Depicting Davros before his accident, or having it so that future appearances of Davros have him healed as a result of absorbing the Doctor's regeneration energy in the Series 9 opening two-parter, can only be good for the show. It might also prompt the writers to actually do something new with Davros instead of having him yet again appear as a static character who only exists to detract agency from the Daleks

@@dalekbumps everyone says that Look having a disability doesn't make a character inherently evil, his initial actions were for the preservation of his race but that became twisted over time but Russell acted as if there isn't even one disabled person that is the opposite Professor x for example daredevil for another or how about ironside how about nick parker (blind fury) Having a disability adds motivation, it's what you do with said motivation What exactly did 46 do in the special besides looking smug in the special, identify that the meep could not only park but could reverse park and she was shocked when it changed direction, oh and use weapons in her wheelchair Be afraid everyone, disabled people carry weapons

I know this point is pretty much useless; but I always found the fact that Nyder took 3-4 or more of the Dalek's death ray before finally dying to be both fascinating and terrifying. That ray has been shown throughout Doctor Who both in the past and present to be a one-hit-kill weapon, if you're hit by it, you're just dead; but Nyder, he kept moving and screaming even after being shot, and it took multiple shots for him to finally die. Yes I'm aware that was done for dramatic effect, but thinking about it in universe, Nyder was shown to be a absolute beast at the end of his life by accident; I mean, not even The Doctor survives being shot by it technically. . just one almost missed shot from the death ray was enough to trigger the regeneration cycle which is pretty much a Time Lord's way of cheating death. Davros picked his second-in-command well, not only was Nyder loyal to the end and got many things done in person, he could've also took countless bullet shots to protect him. Rest in peace Nyder; you may have been a scheming sona bitch, but you were perhaps the only ray of sunshine in Davros's life. 07

Nyder was one of the best villains in Doctor Who. Peter Miles took the part so well. He was totally convincing and chilling. My best Nyder moment is when he is interrogating the Doctor and Harry and they express disapproval of the policy of just abandoning the genetically wounded, ie the mutoes. Nyder sneeringly replies: "Your views are unimportant."

The only henchman who came close to Nyder's ruthlessness and devotion to furthering his own power was Lytton. And Lytton doubled down by serving both the Daleks and the Cybermen, until he was murdered on the orders of the Cyber Controller. Come to think of it, Lytton pretty much suffered the same fate as Nyder!
