Richard, at the risk of being pedantic, it's because there's more knowledge over time than there was in ancient (scholars') times. Science used to encompass nearly everything, but we as humanity learned more and more so it's impossible for any one person to master all. Academia had to specialize. I'm with you 100% by the way, just learn forever. I work with a lot of researchers and unfortunately, it's "publish or die" as they say. Great ep! good to learn a bit about my fave commander crew! take care you guys!

Talking about the autopilot decks, as a player who was out of the game for over 20 years and just recently got back into it, those have made it very easy for me to still have an enjoyable experience in the higher range pods that they have at my local shop. I want to get better to so I don't have to lean on that style as much. But the complexity of the cards is just so high. I feel like it's going to take me years to be at the level of some of the other players.

Also, if you look at the standard metagame page on MTGGoldfish, of the top 5 decks, only 1 is an automatic deck(the poison deck). The rest are either ramp or mid range, neither of which are auto decks at all. What he might mean are decks that have a ton of cards that if unanswered, run away with the game within 1-2 turns. Ikoria is easy. Pokemon. In the aftermath of phyrexia stuff, bonders become stronger or certain strong bonders arise or even travellers from other planes, maybe not even human. They travel around fighting, or take over areas and it's warfare between the strongest bonders and all their monsters and human allies/minions, etc etc. Mechanics around buffing certain monster types and forming teams, I dunno.
@joekendall84018 ай бұрын
The off-kilter approach to a known plane is another example of how 3 set blocks make for a better experience overall. The concept of slivers overrunning Ikoria seems really cool but it sucks as 1 set. In a 3 set block you can see the progression from "Ikoria big monsters" to "Ikoria something isn't quite right, what are these pointy snakes?" To "Ikoria, holy fuck slivers everywhere" and it would be compelling

When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral. EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE
