its sad these children don't feel any connection and are probably lonely or just empty and its horrible living with an incurable condition such as this. I feel bad for these kids for not being able to know love, feel love, or be a loving presence. it's sad more than anything to me. you go mama, you did amazing and it sure was traumatizing and abusive for you and im so sorry the pain you've been through but its over hopefully. you did the best in raising a psychopathic child and gave him love endlessly although it was hard.

Lillyth, you (and the Facebook group) were really the only helpful people I’ve come across all these years. I don’t use my Facebook anymore but now that I e come across you on KZbin (I’m so glad to see you on here!) I think I will log in to update y’all on our crazy journey. My son is 15 now and it’s been so hard. Thank you for everything that you’ve done for us and our kids❤

True. Its sad to think that things have not gotten any better for parents and kids dealing with psychopathy in the last 35 years. If treated early, improvements can be made. It will never go away, but hopefully your child will not become the next school shooter.

I'm a retired Mental Health Counselor and nothing in my education or training prepared me to help parents of choldren with psychopathic traits. None of the countless other MH providers from the most basic level to psychiatrists & psychologists that I knew had any thing very helpful to provide parents of these kids. There was a vast knowledge gap and also a strong denial that children could even have psychopathic traits. I began reading about psychopathy when I kept running into situations where people needed help & it felt awful being unable to offer anything useful. At about 6 years into my 30 year career I'd learned enough to begin providing some basic information that people found helpful. I was unable to find other clinicians to consult with in this subject area. By the time I retired I had encountered many people whose lives were impacted by psychopathic individual. I didn't achieved expertise in this area but learned enough to believe the sad truth of what you've shared here. I wish you the best in your ongoing journey. JS

Please rehome your animals, it's not fair for them to have to experience any of this. I feel for all of you. Wishing your family nothing but the best.

I’m sorry for this woman, she is his mum and, of course, she can’t accept the hard truth that a psychopath cannot be helped, because their brain is wired differently, now we know. These people are dangerous, they might not break the law, but they are dangerous since they hurt other people for their own benefits and should be isolated as much as possible.

I would recommend watching the episode of Special Books for Special Kids featuring a person with Psychopathy. Very insightful and incredible story. They're not lost causes. There is also a few interviews on this channel of people with Psychopathy that offer more than just a "lost cause"
@thecreativebusiness13162 жыл бұрын
@@alonelyshrub i saw that interview and that man is a sociopath (as he declares himself), not a psychopath, which makes all the difference, since a sociopath is made, while a psycho is born this way, with a brain physically different from ours: it's like someone born without eyes, there's no way he'll ever see.

Yikes. Not a great take. While people with psychopathy can be very harmful, it’s not genetically predetermined, and to suggest incapacitation as a course based on some imperfect diagnostic tests is pretty extreme. We also _don’t_ know very much about psychopathy. You might be reluctant to accept those hard truths but maybe expand your world view and leave some room for nuance before demonizing and stigmatizing a mental health issue. 🫤
@alonelyshrub2 жыл бұрын
@@thecreativebusiness1316 psychopathy and sociopathy are interchangeable terms to describe someone who does not have empathy. In the SBSK episode, Chris does not mention any event or person that "created" his diagnosis. He accepts social responsibility for himself and limits interactions that he could manipulate others in.

These people are needed in certain professions though - every dangerous, high stake or otherwise stressful job - like neurosurgeon for example. It's just that they need to be held accountable, monitored, and hopefully cut out of political systems and leadership roles.
