Another great recipe Britt. I used an i-pot and cooked the garbanzo beans from dried. For those wondering, 2 cups dried beans cooked to 5 1/4 cups which is approximately the same amount as three 15.5 oz cans of pre-cooked beans. I added a tsp of coriander. These taste great. Thank you for your continuing inspiration.

Garbanzo beans are great dried too. They are so much cheaper if you buy them dried, soak them overninght and cook them. I love the no-bangs look on you. Thank you for sharing the recipe.

Not sure if anyone suggstd this...I can't read to find out (eye issue), but I use a mashed potato to hold my falafel together, if besan flour isn't available. I leave out black pepper & add paprika. I like it made with soaked, raw chickpeas. More authentic. Soak the beans, rinse, drain well, & freeze in portions for your recipe. Thaws by just pouring some boiling water over them, & sit for a few mins. Drain again. Use a cookie scoop, place on parchment, then mash with bottom of a glass or measuring cup. Bake.

I've dabbled with plant based eating previously but am newly committed to eating this way- Giving up meat was easy. Dairy was harder. But I feel so much better avoiding both.. I just tried your falafel and cucumber dill dressing recipes. Really enjoyed it and will definitely make it again. I do have leftovers and plan to buy some pita tomorrow to eat with some of the leftovers. And I am going to check out/ make more of your recipes. I am a new subscriber as of a few days ago. Thanks so much! So helpful as I need to develop a repertoire of meals I can eat regularly that I like and is easy to make.

What a wonderful recipe and so easy to make. I made 2/3 of the recipe and everything came out great. Went a little heavy on the cumin as we are huge fans of anything with cumin in it. On top of the falafel is Brittany's recipe for cucumber dill sauce (which I made the other day). These two recipes go prefect together. 😋😋😋

I've made falafels before and love them. I haven't tried them with miso or broth and I used cumin and coriander. The sauce I used was a tahini sauce with lemon and garlic. I have baked them but I have also pan fried in a copper chef non stick pan for a burger. I will have to try these as well. Sounds tasty also. Great job!

Hey Brittany! I am watching some of your old videos. Tonight is 11/16/2020 I am not so sure you will see this comment. But hey, why not ask! I have a lot of flours, just not chickpea flour. If you see this comment; what other flour will work in place of chickpea flour? Almond, oat, spelt, whole wheat, buckwheat, quinoa, buckwheat, or whole wheat?? Love your videos! Having fun going back in time to watch your older videos ❤️

Hi there, I was really excited to try this and struggled a lot with the consistency. The mixture was just too wet for me and I had to add WAY more chickpea flour - I probably ended up with at least 2 cups and I even added ground flaxseed. Finally that helped it not be completely blobby. Still came out like merengues lol. I would also suggest specifying that the baking is the same amount on both sides. It tasted pretty good in the end but it was a bit of a struggle 🙈

No coriander? Sacrilege! LOL. It's often used in felafel and has become one of my favorite spices... it moderates having to use lots of cumin, which is okay but seems to dominate too many WFPB recipes. Thank you for sharing all your recipes and especially compiling the written directions for future use, it makes it so much easier!

I don't have a food processor yet. I'm assuming that there is not enough liquid to do in the blender? And it's probably too difficult to mash by hand?
@MD-pv7xo4 жыл бұрын
I used an Oster Pro 1200 blender. It is more power than an average blender. If you use a blender, be prepared to scrape down and turn the mix after each couple of pulses to consistently grind all ingredients. I found the mix to be on the wet side, requiring more chick pea flour to thicken the mix. I used two tetra brik packs of drained chick peas. I might have added less than 3 cups of chick peas. Also, I added cilantro in addition to parsley. I measured all of the ingredients except for the chick peas and the fresh herbs.
@ashwoodward36304 жыл бұрын
Any idea what 3 cans of chickpeas would be in cups? I get dried garbanzos and hydrate them as needed in the instant pot. This just saves money and we CNAs don't make much :-)
