Tip! I've made this cheese sauce numerous times and you don't need to put it in a saucepan. Just let it go in your Vitamix until it's hot and thickened. You can hear the sound of the blender change as soon as the consistency is right. My Vitamix came with recipes on how to make soups in the blender which is a similar process. The action of the Vitamix heats up the contents. I'd say it takes a good 5 minutes to get the sauce to thicken.
@massages_for_world_peace89092 жыл бұрын
Wish I had a vitamix! It sounds much easier than stovetop. :) The person she got this recipe from did it that way, btw, in her vitamix.
@jodieroberts38756 жыл бұрын
I made this tonight. I sauteed the soy curls in a dry pan so they'd get a little color. I also discovered the cheese sauce doesn't reheat too well. I baked it in the oven topped with gluten free bread crumbs and vegan parmesan.

I used to hate nutritional yeast! I still don’t love it but I’ve found that I’m learning to like it better by easing into it. Lol. I use about half of what a recipe calls for and up things like garlic powder and other seasonings and slowly work my way up to where I now can almost use the full amount a recipe calls for! I just keep trying! Those taste buds have to change eventually!
@katherinehall19675 жыл бұрын
Y’all are just too adorable. Excited to try this recipe! I would make the sauce right now, but I don’t have the red capsicum. I can make it without, but the nice, savoury capsicum adds a beautiful flavour, it’s worth waiting for. Oddly, it’s what ACTUALLY makes it taste so cheeselike. Yeah, Jill is brilliant with soy curls and IP recipes, I love her. And she IS a great mom! The love in that family between the parents and the kids (and the cute doggie) is SO tight, it crackles! That kind of familial bond is quite admirable, to be sure. You and Alex seem to have such a lovely friendship. I can tell he’s thrilled to learn from you and move his food intake forward to a healthier, cleaner level. Good, strong military running on clean fuel! Awesome. Alex, thank you for your brave service to our country! Be safe, and you are in my prayers.

Yes, please, please, PLEASE make the buffalo chicken dip recipe!!! ❤️💛❤️ I loved that recipe before going plant based and would love to have it again but healthy. I love Jill and that cheese recipe is what I use too. I add about 1/4 tsp of turmeric as I feel it give a little depth to the cheese flavor. I don't use the smoke as I'm not a fan. I enjoy seeing your special guest chef, Chef Alex. Congratulations on the graduation and I wish Alex the best in the Air Force!

First, I love your channel! Where do you buy white miso? I ordered miso but it's dark and liquid like soy sauce. Can that be used for this cheese sauce? The white miso you use looks like a paste. What brand do you use and where do you buy it?
@TheJaroudiFamily2 жыл бұрын
I use a different brand now - the one I was using back then was being delivered poorly. I had a few deliveries with the packaging being cracked. After that, I was annoyed and just started getting the one they have at our Whole Foods. As long as it is a white (soy) miso paste it'll work.

What a great video !! You are one of my favorites on you tube...and WOW you have come so far in a short time !!! I was watching your videos when you were giving away Dr Greger's cookbook and now look at how many subscribers you have..Awesome!! I am working on transitioning from a SAD diet to plant based and my greatest challenge will be to convert my 4 grandchildren that live with me (ages 15,13,11,and 5) and I think this recipe will be a keeper!! I also watch Jill and love how she is so simple with her recipes without crazy ingredients and they look very tasty! I am sure your brother will learn a lot from you!

Love the two of you working together. Good luck to Chef Alex in the Air Force! I tried soy curls once and they were kinda mushy (used them in the ipot). My nephew is about the same age. If I even mention the word vegan, vegetarian, or plant based. I get a "Oh gross!" From him. The soy curls intrigue me.
