It was really helpful to hear that being red the day after a big workout is okay, as I was taking it that I had done something wrong whereas this podcast is helpful in sharing that this is normal and possibly even good as it shows you have pushed yourself, but you need to ensure you rest and recover so you’re not red the next day also 💪🏼

I just evolved but also more confused about what is ideal HRV variability and the first principle of ideal reading. I guess confusion is good. Or is it?

This is all great but the HR does not work when doing intervals. It needs a HR belt for these workouts. So annoying. It’s on for steady workouts. But terrible for say 1-2 mins bursts. Please please fix this

How do you mean? Today did rowing intervals 45sec on 3min off, checked the results and they are there, detailed as well.

9:20 - wouldn't that mean that regular heart rate is a better measure of how you'll perform than HRV, since in the tapered athletes the HRV was low which is supposedly a sign of worse performance.
@michaelobrien73592 жыл бұрын
I think what she is saying is that HRV is low when either system dominates (sympathetic or parasympathetic). You know it's parasympathetic dominant when both HR and HRV are low. Which is the ideal state she was alluding to. When HRV is low due to sympathetic dominance the HR is higher.

@@michaelobrien7359 I'm pretty sure high HRV is the "better" state, according to them.

@@splitkostanjeuma Yes, generally speaking higher is better. I think you missed the point she was trying to make though regarding this special case during period training/taper. Listen from ~9:10...

What if I have an injury and don't exercise?... How do you improve your HRV?.. like I just started and I'm red every day. 20% sleep is good.
