Why 2003 Mace Windu was incredibly OP - Star Wars Vintage: Clone Wars

In the vintage 2003 Star Wars Clone Wars series Mace Windu is incredibly overpowered! In this short I run through some of the force abilities he displays during the Battle of Dantooine and the Battle of Coruscant within the limited series to showcase the massive potential the character demonstrates.
Overall I feel that Mace Windu as a Jedi doesn't get as much credit as the character deserves, so I hope this helps provide some perspective! #shorts

Mace has some incredible stories in the legends canon that can still be salvaged. Especially the stuff about his special form 7 lightsaber combat and how it affected everyone who learned it, even pushing some of Mace’s Padawans to the dark side. But my fave is the story of his battles in his homeworld during the clone wars, a lot of jungle bloody warfare and Jedi PTSD having to deal with the two factions wanting to murder each other really good story

Windu is the epitome of this era’s Jedi, for good and bad. He is powerful as shit, composed in battle, and extremely skilled. He’s also arrogant, cold, and emotionally detached - making him quite the hypocrite. Really fascinating character through that lens.

Yea, this show is great on it’s own, but to try and defend it’s powerscaling and to say that “everyone is nerfed in the films” is absurd. It’s far too out of line with the OT, and stuff like the Jedi attack on Geonosis would of been over in 5 seconds if Windu was this powerful. This stuff looks great in 2d but not in live action (CGI overload). I do agree with a stronger Grevious though, he deserved better.

@@ebeleingram8048 That’s fair. Personally I view it as “the fight’s/feats are slowed down for the viewers sake”, kinda like Dragon Ball Z. I’m fine with crazy force abilities in canon but they should at least stay consistent to the used medium. For instance, Rey deflecting Palp’s fleet destroying lightning wouldn’t be nearly as jarring in a comic/novel setting. Like if the Force Unleashed was canon that’s fine but once you start showing that power in the film’s there can be problems.

He never said anything about Sidious not using his force abilities. I'm trying to say, that if Anakin didn't walk in, Then Sidious would use force lightning and force abilities to kill Windu. Vaa Paad won't protect Windu from Force lightning and force attacks, because it's a lightsaber fighting technique and hence only works in Lightsaber Combat. And if big man Yoda himself couldn't overpower Sidious in the force, then Windu definitely can't.

Reason mace is so strong and my fave Jedi is because he uses a fighting style closer to the sith and darkside called vapaad form 7. He is one of the only few Jedi to realize that the darkside is stronger and more combat competent so he adopts a similar style while using his willpower and strict discipline to stay connected to the lightside

Theory: as the Clone wars went on the separatists were quickly running out of metal so they had to make as many droids as they could with what they had access to. as a result they decided to use less and less metal on each droid which ended up leaving them with really low durability which is why at the start of the war punching battle droids was a death wish but by the end of it you could actually kill a battle droid with your bare hands without hurting yourself

Not quite. Winduu has his own style he developed called Vaapad. Not only is it built to redirect the hate & strength from the sith & turn it into more power for him, making him a huge threat to any emotional fighter or angered sith. The form has unarmed combat as well. Those droids weren't cheap, it's just that the second side to Vaapad besides empowering yourself with the opponents anger & dark side force is to use your fist to transmite explosions of force energy into the object or person. Creating huge internal damage instead of surface damage.

Man that could be cool imagine. A dark figure in a cloak limps into the Jedi Temple hiding from the clones in the shadows. He finds Grogu also hiding and helps get him to an escape ship but they get discovered. The figure places Grogu on the ship and begins lift off then turns towards a group of clones (probably having to cross a bridge of some sort, Star Wars loves fight scenes on suspended structures). We never see the figures face but as we see from Grogu pov as he’s flying away the figure pulls out lights up a lightsaber with his left hand, and in the darkness the brilliant purple blade shines like a beacon in the Coruscant night. The clones recognise the blade and hesitate, Mace does not and charges in. End Scene

I really miss this version of star wars; not only did this animation give us a good grasp of how powerful the sith/jedi were but it also engaged in the more sensitive topics of certain characters and gave us some awesome clone trooper battles.
