My pleasure! You are exactly correct. Trying to pursue acting while struggling is an extremely difficult task, which I cannot recommend

I'm a street performer from Argentina. I saw this video becuase I used to act in theater, and I miss acting the way I used to act on a stage. So, right now, the public space is my stage, and I really am proud of that. Argentina is a totally different territory, is another way of thinking. Streets performances are important in a specific political way. Street performing is a whole different way than TV or theater acting. It's more demanding fisically and emotionally, and not everybody like it. But is one of the best thing I've ever done in my life, and I'm still performing. Don't give up with the things you want to do in life.

I’m in the same situation right now-no money and facing rejections from auditions. 😢 But after watching your video, I feel motivated because it’s a normal part of being a struggling actor. This time will pass too. ☺️

Five years ago, I began working on myself-two hours of daily dedication to Shakespeare, expressions, vocal projection, and body language. It feels like a dream. I learned English and am now perfecting my American accent. Now, at 43, the realities of life have hit me hard, but when I close my eyes and look back at those five years, I realize that at least now, I’m ready to give auditions. Five years ago, I never would have imagined this. Wishing the best to everyone working toward their future selves.

A lot of actors always think of moving to NY and LA!! Over and over again! Yes we get it that’s where all the big acting jobs are! But very few don’t realize that it is also a fantastic idea to start in your hometown where ever you are! Get as much work and experience where you’re living right now, and step by step you will forge stronger connections to big cities like NY or LA.

I'll say this to anyone who wants to be an actor or actress you must learn and accept rejection 100,% that's no 1 in my book and be prepared to keep looking for auditions everything he said in this video is absolutely true auditions are done now on zoom be prepared for that being a constant thing to do and prepare to keep repeating the same process over & over again it isn't easy I've been an actor for alot of years myself and it's hard to find an agent an agency or a manager that will accept you especially if your starting out prepare for they're rejection as well just keep trying it's upsetting it's frustrating but you must keep on trying that's the key determination and consistency don't give up you want this dream bad enough then you keep on trying till you get a chance but there's no knowing on when that will happen keep on trying 😊👍

I don't live in the US so it will be a little harder for me but I thought that once I finish high school I will go to acting school (college) and go to work and travel to make money so I don't need to work that much when I become older

Awesome video. I think there are other ways actors have a higher chance like going for an acting school, right? I also think that things like script writing help. Can you discuss more about them? Maybe acting classes or schools that struggling actors have the best chance with or ways to push out a script and make some money out of it. Also how feasible is it to get into directing as a beginner actor. I don't know if you get my point ☝️ There are other related things that people do to make a living from acting rather than just acting itself Can you discuss it? Things like script, directing and how acting schools help improve an actors career

Drama school does not increase an actor’s chance of booking. Potentially it could be argued that it may land you a bigger agent IF you go to a top drama program, but other than that, the percentage increase is not significantly noticeable. The one advantage someone has if they go to drama school is that they will be forced to practice all the time, but you could already do that on your own and take your own acting classes elsewhere and save 200k in debt you’d be left with after 4 years. Writing and directing can be equally difficult. With directing you need to show proof of ability. Which means you’d need to have good acting, editing, lighting, and everything to showcase your ability. Most people cannot do that, especially right out of the gate. For writing you could start today, but you still need to write a GREAT product and get the right people to see it. There are many great projects which go unseen. And you do not make money during the writing process (unless you have a name to yourself). Any art form is extremely difficult to get into. Unfortunately, I’d be lying if I said it was easy. This is why having a separate stable income is SO VALUABLE for any artist.

I hope starting too small doesn't keep me on the ground though. Some of this guys we admire, it's almost like they just started big and then I'm like “What on earth am I even doing. I'm not even worthy to be called I'm actor.”
@TheActorsAcademy2 ай бұрын
@@NobleEberechukwu they got lucky. Yes we need to have a certain level of talent to perform (of course), but there are over 160,000 thousand members in the union and many more who are not. Out of all those individuals there are many MANY talented actors, more talented than a lot of people we see on tv and in movies, yet they’re not sustainable themselves solely from acting, because you also got to be lucky and ready for that luck.

Ill keep doing what I can then. Even if it's when I'm old. I'll surely make it. I write fiction too and do a little script so those ones could click too and it could help my acting

What’s the point of even trying to be an actor. Everything is against you.
@TheActorsAcademy2 ай бұрын
It is EXTREMELY difficult. This is why I never suggest putting all your eggs in one basket. If you treat it more as a hobby, you can build financial freedom while still auditioning and if luck strikes your way, then great! Here is one more example: We can buy a lotto ticket and hope we get the right numbers each time we buy, but we shouldn’t move next to the closest 7-11 and spend all our time and money into buying lotto tickets, because the odds of us winning are against us. Same applies to acting.
