Why am I single? Who would I consider dating? Great questions to ask someone like myself that has never been in a relationship or dated. While I may be single, I do not feel alone and am happy with my life.

I am single...still! I've grown so much since my first relationship video from 2013 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoDXhH6upt6giZY), where I would label myself and put myself down because of how I was. People said I would blame others for my problems in that video, but I never saw it until more recently. I think as I continue to grow, I will be open to allowing love and relationships in my life! - Why Am I Single | Who I Would Consider Dating

I've never been in a relationship either, mainly because of mental health and social problems, guess i never loved myself enough too, but i'm working on it! Now time has passed, everyone my age has so much more experience than me it makes it harder to meet someone, almost impossible even. I'm sure there is someone out there for me though and one day it will just happen.

I am also on the same boat as you when it comes to relationships and sex. I am now 26 and still a virgin who has never been kissed, been in a relationship, has never dated, etc. But even so, I love my life as is and I am glad that I am not the only one who has no absolute experience when it comes to being close to another individual. I believe that if it comes then it comes, If it does not then so be it. I am not eager for anything. I want to thank you so much for sharing your life and experiences with us. Keep making your videos no matter what. Cheers! d(^,.,^d)

***** You're correct. It is Iris. I've been commenting using Autumn as her name in whole, since I first discovered her. When I say Autumn what I really mean is her as a person; as an individual, It is probably much more respectful to call her Iris, in such videos. I keep forgetting and I will do my best to remember.

Autumn, I have a question for you.You said in your video that it's important to realize just how important sex is, but what if sex isn't part of a relationship? I'm asexual and have absolutely no interest in sex. In fact, I don't like it and would rather not engage in it at all. Do you think I can still have a functioning relationship as long as my partner understands how I feel and feels the same way?
@AutumnAsphodel
@AutumnAsphodel 9 жыл бұрын
Ikine Thanks for sharing! I'm sure that will not be a problem at all. What I meant, however, was if sex was important to the relationship and there was no communication, then both partners would need to realize that it is important to them and address what the problem is. =)

Personally I don’t mind at all being single and by myself all the time, in fact I prefer it more. Relationships are far too dramatic, complicated and doesn’t seem worth it to me. Also I like to have my privacy and alone time, so I have zero desire for a relationship with someone. If I were however I would want a relationship that was open much like how you describe the possibility of having a polyandrous relationship.

I don't believe you have to love yourself before you love someone else. I have some serious self esteem issues, and I have been in love twice and both times I was (and am) absolutely in love, and accept the flaws of the other human being completely, and I feel like they accept mine as well. Maybe it's just me, but I believe both of these times I was in love were real.

I've had a string of bad relationships. I've been single for nearly a year and don't mind it at all. But it took a very long time for me to be okay with that. My problem was that I had so many issues with loving myself and expressing myself as I am. I'm pansexual and agender. For years I closed myself off and kept what I was feeling inside, secret. It's debilitating and those feelings will easily permeate whatever relationship you choose ot enter if you don't address your problems. After my last relationship, I really had to think about why I was choosing the people I was and why my romantic relationships always seemed to frequently end so badly. I realized two things about the people I dated: 1. They were always people who had emotional issues/traumas at some point in their lives. 2. They wanted to something to fill a missing void in their lives. And because I had both of those issues myself, I thought that if I dated someone with worse problems I'd be a hero, swoop in and save the day for them. They'd love me. I'd love them. We'd live happily ever after. Let me tell ya, it doesn't work like that. Not everything needs to be a such a glorified fairytale. These days I'm content single and enjoying interacting with healthy positive people in my life and quite frankly, relationships are pretty far on the back burner for me. Reflecting on my past mistakes, I had to realize that the key to a good relationship is knowing what you need, what you have to offer, and knowing that you are a person worthy of that.

Hi Autumn, this vid reminded me of Bjork Gudmundsdottir's song from the Homogenic album, she describes what you said about the mistaken feeling we have that someone else is needed to complete us. I hope you scroll. "How could I be so immature ? To think he could replace The missing elements in me How extremely lazy of me" Track - "Immature" And I can relate strongly to this experience. It took me most of my lifetime to be happy with myself and independent of other peoples' approval. I am now 63 yrs old and have been quite contented with my own company for maybe 6 - 7 years. I am also a great believer in the adage: "What other people think about me is none of my business". I always enjoy your videos. Thank you. Read more: Björk - Immature Lyrics | MetroLyrics

hi autumn. im a 20 year old woman an im in your same situation. never dated, never been kissed, and of course no sex. and ive rejected all those that have asked me out in my school years. my reason for this is well i have very low confidence in myself. i always think about the affects of a person like me dating any man because i begin to think that none will like a girl that is so "serious", "shy" (i hate when people say that cause being a person that doesnt communicate much doesnt mean im shy) and the type of men im usually attracted to would normally go after girls that are more out going. i cant imagine myself being all lovey dovey and im not used to people hugging me. i get afraid of the idea of a man getting mad at me because ill refuse to have alot of intimate behavior towards each other. because ive had no type of relationship experience for 20 years ive grown used to it and now i really dont care about the subject and ive put my attention to other things i prefer more than that although at the same time i still wish i could have some experience. in the mean time ill continue to be myself

It's very ironic that you just made a "relationship/dating" video because I also just made one on my channel around the same time!! It's like we think alike haha I bring up some of the same points you do about loving yourself. I'm transsexual woman myself and making videos is like my "release" so to speak and communicate with others and grow my "family" on KZbin. It takes a lot of courage and strength to put yourself on KZbin/social media and make videos, especially as a transsexual woman. But WE are doing it and I couldn't be more proud to call you my sister Autumn. I haven't been in a relationship for about almost two years now. You must work on yourself first before you can let others in. I feel you completely girl. (Hugs)

There is this idea that one must "love themselves" in order to be loved. I don't really understand the meaning of this statement. If they mean the type of social love expressed as affection between people, then I am pretty sure this is impossible to accomplish with one's self. If it is in regards to the love of one's own flesh, this is also unreasonable. Another person cannot be expected to have the same regard for YOUR physical well-being as you do, or vice-versa. In regards to socially expressed love, I am not too sure I get how one is to understand how to properly love another person, unless they themselves have first been shown how to love by another person. It is like the equivalent of expecting an English speaking person to waltz into Japan and speak fluent Japanese. It just doesn't work that way. To anyone who would refute this argument, I ask you to imagine what your life would have been like if you had not a single soul in this world that cared for them, and then we can talk about it.

You courage, maturity, and insight are beyond unbelievable. You are an inspiration for us all and I appreciate you for that. Most importantly, I couldn't care less whether what you are sharing with us is true or fake, because in this particular context, that is a distinction I am not interested into. In my personal experience, I have come to understand that what happens inside of your mind, within the flow of your consciousness, is never untrue. Even the things that we imagine, even those that we hallucinate, are - to a certain extent - to be considered "real". So please, do not linger in that dichotomy. I appreciate you, for all of the qualities and purity you are showing cannot be faked, and those are what really matters to me.

alternative view: it begins with the premise that Perfection is unattainable We're all got baggage Start going out with friends Talking to people Making connections Maybe find someone you find attractive and start dating them Weither or not things go right you still learn something from the experience You learn what it feels like to be in love and how you handle those emotions And sure it might end in heart break but the human experience just isn't complete without at least one of those in our lives. Feel free to share your thoughts.

I understand what you mean by feeling disgust when people say, "I love you" towards me. My gut reaction to those words are discomfort and almost a "How dare you. You don't know me. How can you say that?" The bottom line, and it took me forever to figure this out, is because I feel that I don't deserve it. It is SO HARD for me to say "I love you" back to someone. It took me more than 20 years to say it back to my parents (and they are very loving people) simply because it is so uncomfortable for me. I am very much a demisexual if not borderline asexual. I cannot fathom how people move so quickly to get physical. But I now understand that we don't all have to be wired the same way.

I don't need to pay for therapist when I have you. And you really have a good point in this. What I find most attractive in you, is that you're so smart and reflective. You also have a lot of knowledge and experience that will help you to accept yourself and learn from yourself. I have BPD and my relationship went to hell. I also ruined my relationship to my family. The past years, I've realized that I have a problem with myself, and whatever caused me to get this diagnose, I don't care. I went to a therapist two years ago and he told me to work on myself and accept myself. And loving yourself first is important, instead of expecting others to accept and love you first.Cause that is kinda egoistic in my opinion.

I'm really shocked that you don't listen to gothic music, but choose to "look the part". Anyways, I think you're very interesting.... Thanks for the insightful videos.

Have you ever heard of ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response)? Do you personally experience it and do you watch self-trigger videos on KZbin? I find it very helpful to my mental illness and thought maybe it might help to relax you

Honourable your intentions, but perhaps you will never achieve your aim, alone. Or perhaps you will achieve your aim in 10 years. You might want to consider just to experiment for fun and self-discovering purposes. Be aware that Love is a winner lottery ticket, "someone" sang that is a "loosing game". I hope you will like yourself one day soon! Meanwhile... the others outside not always hurt. To me You are like a bud rose that needs the sun to blossom. Darling I am not talking about sex but intimacy.

You know Autumn, while I love your videos and you as a person and what you share, and mostly always agree, on this one I cannot. Let me explain. For most of my life I said the same thing, "In order to love someone else, I must love me first." I wasted a lot of time on that misnomer. Because, although it took me nearly fifty years haha, I have learned that actually quite the opposite is true. Because you know, truthfully, there are more broken people than there aren't. It's true, I have finally come to the conclusion that I have too much crap that I have lived through to EVER be able to fully understand or love myself completely. And truth be told, I think a lot of people feel that way. The really beautiful thing in life is when you DO find that person, that is just as broken as you and finds it hard to love themselves, can be really adept at loving YOU. Just as you them. I think that is what relationships are about. Believe me, although we don't think we can ever find that good person who can love us as we are, they ARE out there. But the key is you MUST be willing to open yourself up to it. I can't tell you how many times I have been hurt by this and betrayed, but persistence pays off. I too am happy alone. But the friend who cares about me, well he understands that and loves me in spite of me. Poor chap, lol. Just my perspective, I mean no disrespect, just sharing what I have learned. xoxo

I felt like you in some ways while watching this video. I have been in different relationships that ended really badly, with a lot of violence in them. I have a lot of problems dealing with other people feelings so I decided that first I will try to be more confortable with myself before entering in other relationship. Also, I want to explore more with my pansexuality before anything. haha Anyway, I think you are such a wonderful human being and I hope you succeed in everything you propose. I've seen your other videos and I'm happy with your progress. Keep it going :) Kisses. PD: Sorry if I wrote something wrong, I know english very well but sometimes I make mistakes.

You give such great advice. I'm currently browsing through your videos, and I'm so lucky to have stumbled onto this one. I have BPD. I've managed to steer myself clear of relationships for a long time (despite the fact that initially I felt horrid being "alone") and work on myself, but recently I was asked on a date. I think I've been deluding myself into thinking I was ready for a relationship, but after watching this video, I've realized that I'm not. So thank you! Definitely a wake up call to keep working on that self love.

Great video. My Mama always told me, "Two halves make a whole; but two wholes make the pair.", and I believe you touched on this point rather eloquently. Thank you for such wonderful and honest words!

Thank you so much Autumn! This is what I've been trying to say always. How can you love someone if you don't even love yourself? People think I'm crazy and my friends get offended when I do say this. They believe I have no heart, they say I'm wrong for saying that and consider me a bitch for it. But honestly, if I'm being considered being a bitch for speaking my mind and saying what is true then so be it! You are the first person that I can relate to and I truly admire you and respect you! 👍💖💖💖💖

Making a relationship video guarantees your secret admirers to surface and rejoice! You've got a huge catalogue, just have your pick lol On an unrelated note: in a next video, you should not draw your eyebrows on. Then, apply them digitally, if possible, in a sloppy manner so they just hang out at the middle of the screen like some Victorian Era ghost's majestic mustache. Don't mention anything in the description or the video, just act naturally, like nothing's wrong. That'd teach the Weird Question people not to mess with the wrong woman!

I hope to be more like you someday (wise, self-loving, independent, etc.). I have a lot of the same symptoms as you have and hope to be diagnosed soon but I have dependency problems though, maybe DPD, and find it hard to feel better about myself without constant reassurance. You are such an inspiration

You are so intellectual! :) thank you for sharing. What you said about needing to love yourself is very true. I seek the love I'm missing for myself in relationships. I'm currently working on that in many ways so watching this is very encouraging to me. Normally I don't comment on videos but this really connected with me and made me happy. Once again, thank you.

I reckon your a VIRGO - the virgin sign - or probably have it as your Ascendant in your Astrology. I like a lot of Virgos - but many rarely open up in wanting to connect with others. I also perceive a lot of Venus, Pluto and Saturnine energy around you. Pursuing self introspection.
