Two episodes of partial hearing loss last year (fully normal now) caused dizziness. Vestibular Neuritis according to the consultant. Still pushing myself though, like you've recommended, and dizziness with nausea spells are reducing both in term of frequent and duration. So thank-you 🤗

Ironically Neurologist prescribed Klonipin for help with Vestibular issues. I’m tapering off now for reasons you pointed out!

And hopefully you’re starting to feel better with some of the exercises. Good luck with tapering off. Another common one that I see is gabapentin. I just had a patient who called me for dizziness and we went over his medication list, turns out he was taking 300 mg of gabapentin three times a day for chronic low back pain. When we talked about the fact that the medication wasn’t even working, he decided to call his doc and see if we could stop taking so much medication. Guess what.. the dizziness cleared up! 🫣

@@treatdizzinessathome2023 Thanks !! I’ve quit taken any meds that I don’t need which side affect is “dizziness” which unfortunately just about a side effect of most meds. I’m down to last of taper. Thanks for your site. I gave link to my PT

@@lauraschmuck5565 glad the information is helpful and at least you kind of answers too. What is causing some of your residual symptoms. Good luck in your recovery and just try to solve one piece of the puzzle at a time! 😀

Thank you, Amy! Are you aware of any supplements that are an issue as well? Various herbs? Thank you!

Sure thing! I’ll see what I can do a long video to answer this for you, but at the top of my head, I know St. John’s wart and valerian can cause some dizziness. Ginger is known to thin the blood so if you have blood pressure issues that could cause some dizziness under certain circumstances. Overdose of vitamin D B12 vitamin A can cause dizziness as well. So the most accurate thing to do is get a blood test with all of those vitamins and see if they are in normal ranges or above. Or speak to your pharmacist 😃

@treatdizzinessathome2023 good thing I ran into this. I just got a multivitamin (one a day) because it had all these vitamins in it because I've heard if you are low it could cause dizziness. I just started taking it today and so far I don't feel any different, but I didn't know an overdose could make you dizzy too. But my dizziness started after a trip to the ent to clean out my ear so I don't know the cause or really how to treat it. I've just been doing all the exercises you have mentioned as well as some optokinetic training. My ent and PT both think this will eventually pass but I'm here freaking out that this will be a lifelong issue. 😢

@@shannonmejia3626 just keep on eye on taking multiple supplements! Again you’re doing better focus on that. But do wonder about a fistula , which can heal on its own

My ENT told me to get meclizine but ONLY take it on days where I can't function. I've been dizzy since April 30 and have only taken it maybe 5 times.

Yes take it as needed just like the ent described 😊 that’s definitely not too much
