Things don't do by magic. Although technology advances a lot, it is very difficult to bring new features and new styles every year, plus they must pay the R&D cost to be offering a new model every 12 months. Not everything depends on Apple or whatever company it is, remember that there is a manufacturing process, you have to make or modify machines, develop the new chip, design the parts distribution lines, etc. There is a complex process to be able to change things every year. So I suspect it's all part of the marketing. They take the “S” out of the equation and sell themselves to consumers as a company that innovates every year. And that's not bad, it's part of the marketing principles, everyone does it.

The iPhone X, Xs, and 11 follow the same pattern as the 6, 6s, and 7. First two generations have the same body and design, then on the third year, they keep the body but change the back, add colors, and add a camera. So if Apple is still using this cycle, the 15 might have its back design changed, but rumors suggest it will still be the dual and triple camera setup that we got starting with the 11. Apple might be on a 4 year cycle now. Change the chassis design on the 15 to prepare for the 16. The 15 will have a slightly rounded body but still boxy, then the 16 will have a back redesign. This is like what happened with the 11 but the other way around - keep the rounded body design but redesign the back to prepare for the boxy design for the 12.

I STILL own an USE the iPhone 6S Plus which I bought back in summer 2016. I even had an iPhone 12 that got severely damaged and returned to the same iPhone 6s Plus for a few more months in 2023 while I found an upgraded phone. I still keep my iPhone 6S Plus as a backup phone, even without a SIM, I use it on WiFi for other things in my daily life.

Hi Creig, do you remember when Apple released an early iPod Touch software update, there had to be an extra charge. So what's the reason behind it ? Could you please make the video to explain about this clearly ? Thanks in advanced 😊😊
@kenwidАй бұрын
Wikipedia: Upgrading to iPhone OS 3 was free for iPhone. Upgrading to iPhone OS 3 originally cost iPod Touch users $9.95;[9] updating to 3.1.x from 2.x cost only $4.95.[10][11] iPhone OS 3 was the last major version of iOS for which there was a charge for iPod Touch users to upgrade. Starting with iOS 4, iOS upgrades became free for all users, including users of the iPod Touch, as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act was revised to allow software upgrades for free with hardware that is not subscription-based.[citation needed]

The s models definitely need to come back. They could’ve made the 14 the 13s. When nothing changes what’s the point in the new number other than to just trick people into thinking it’s an all new phone when it’s actually barely different and pointless to buy.

I actually preferred this as it does slow down the design flow and repetition of the features as well. S models however does this and wouldn’t be a major update to iPhone, by the way I have actually owned an iPhone XS and it’s just like the normal X model
@m3gankillerdolldance Жыл бұрын
iPhone XS doesn't feel the same as iPhone X. iPhone X has A11 chip and iPhone XS has A12 chip. iPhone XS feels feels faster than iPhone X.
@clinteastwood8222 Жыл бұрын
XS had more ram than x. Face Id is smoother and more reliable. The faster more efficient chip helps battery life. S cycle phones normally have the bugs and glitches ironed out. Just like the iPhone 6 with bend gate. The iPhone 6s fixed that issue.

I did notice that Apple stopped redesigning the iPhone (drastically) after the 6. I remember the first iphone, 3g, 4, 5, and 6 all looked drastically different. but the 6, 7, and 8 looked identical (with minor differences, like a slightly bigger camera or just a glass back for wireless charging). I thought Apple just got comfortable with their 6 design until the iPhone X.

This also reminds me of OnePlus with the T suffix and Google Pixel with the A Suffix.
@Peter-mj6lz10 ай бұрын
I think they stopped the S because before there use to be a bigger leap every two years, the design and software evolved more. Whereas now the changes are subtle that for example, a 12S would have looked identical to a 13.

The XR/"XR Plus" was supposed to be released with the X/"X Max" without the 8, the Xs/Xs Max with the XRs/"XRs Plus" and Apple could have chosen to go that way (11R/" 11R Plus", 11/11 Max...14R/14R Plus, 14/14 Max)

Thing with S models was if they had that tech already it should of been the original number model, most people probably realized that considering spec wise and even feature wise there was no change. Apple can afford a year without a phone with all the other products, the only reason the 7 and 8 happed was because they were greedy.
