The idea that adversity is good for people needs to be qualified and carefully considered. The type of adversity spoken of in this video when experienced by someone who is emotionally stable and psychologically mature will produce resilience. However the type of Trauma that leads to psychological immaturity (arrested development) is relational and happens very early in life starting at infancy. This type of trauma is persistent and pervasive. It continues into young adulthood until the individual can break free from their abusers. It is not a singular event but a chronic atmosphere of fear, rejection, humiliation, torture, physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or objectification. It is the systemic destruction of a child’s sense of self, safety and reality. When children are abused, neglected or exploited by their parents it is a type of trauma that alters their developmental trajectory. Many people never recover and suffer with life long incurable psychological disorders such as NPD, BPD, HPD, and ASPD. Torturing children doesn’t make them stronger people it makes them crazy.
@michaeljensen4650Ай бұрын
This is the danger of listening to people who are not psychiatrists or psychologists and do not have any education or formal training in developmental psychology and trauma. You get bad advice. Resilience, empathy and emotional self-regulation are learned in early in life. These are traits which are modeled by good enough parents. Good enough parents don’t abuse or exploit their children and facilitate the emergence of the child’s developing self. They do not interfere consciously or unconsciously in the healthy progression of their child’s psychological development. This allows the child to learn from loss, difficulty, disappointment and frustration. They develop empathy and resilience. If a child is traumatized and emotionally dysregulated it will interfere with their ability to learn from their mistakes and losses. If the adults around them do not model healthy behavior then they have no template or example to draw from.

To be an adult is to take responsability for your words and actions. I found that more often then not a lot of women do not take any responsability at all, instead they blame it on any other reason (mostly men) if anything has any consequences. Women tend to bring personal issues (what is called 'feelings') onto for example the workfloor. "I feel like my boss isn't treating me right" , anything that starts out with "I feel" tends to become an issue further down the road. Men don't respond, or don't know exactly how to react to them, to the phrases that start with that. If a woman makes a mistake and someone says something about it, she'll respond to how she feels instead of owning up to the mistake. I believe very strongly that a lot of women (mind you, not all) can't take any criticism on their actions or words. And that's how a child responds, immature.

A lot of the immature traits Erin describes are related to neuroticism, and some, like manipulating others and the inability to take criticism, start to look like narcissism. However, recent changes in society, particularly the celebration of individuality above other qualities, and the rise of a popular psychology that medicalises everything, reinforce immature behaviours in our race to embrace diversity. Moreover, the rise of social media, with its relentless focus on appearances above thoughtfulness and other desirable traits, makes it attractive for some women to want to live in perpetual maidenhood - and of course for some men to want to live in perpetual boyhood, chasing the perpetual maidens.

I think woman do actually mature faster in the early stages of life up to 18 y.o, then man start to mature faster while most women get stuck on that phase for almost 10 years. By the age of 30 the different in maturity of man vs women is at the highest point, at this stage if a woman has not achieved anything in life she will blame everybody else for her problems (man, the state, God, etc) and if she achieved some goals she will accept her reality and be happy with what life is. I felt so inadequate to find love and build a family so “early.” Again, I take this word in quotation marks because this would not be considered early in the generation of my grandmother (who was also highly educated, worked as a doctor, yet created a family with a child by 25). Most of my female friends were going from dates to dates, while I was breastfeeding my first child… it felt so lonely. As if I was somehow a divination.

Maturity requires personal accountability, struggle, and humility. In a gynocentroc environment when chivalric practices shield women from risk, consequences, and reality, you'll find an over-representation of toxic personality traits the further you travel down the "victim" latter: entitlement, scapegoating, deception, etc. I recommend Karen Straughan's KZbin videos on neotony and hypoagency.

A women told me that a woman is by default at war with herself. A man cannot fix that. It is best to just leave women totally alone. Women used to teach their daughters how to love their husbands. The love I am talking about is a VERB. A man loves as a noun and a verb by creation. A woman cannot love at all as a noun. A woman lives honestly like a ten year old no matter what age she becomes. Women of most ages and backgrounds these days are extremely immature. I remember back in the late 2000s to early 2010s one of the phrases you would always hear in real life and in media were "you can't hit a girl!" Or "She can't do anything wrong because she's a girl" along with Women displaying violence towards Men in media where it would be portrayed as a form of comedy. The lack of accountability in this sense is what has partially lead to what we are seeing today. Overly masculine and competitive modern Women that again refuse to take accountability because most grew up in a society that was fueled by encouragement from media to "let her get away with it because she's a Woman" and cheer on when a Woman does something violent that threatens the safety of a Man and/or another Woman. In conclusion, media is one of the things responsible for modern day influences, societal psychological damage, and stereotypes that have created division and recklessness. Don't even get me started with the reduction of food quality, which I believe has an impact on hormones and one's mental state.

You hit the nail on the head with this video. My biggest issue with the way modern women carry themselves is that they refuse to look in the mirror and take responsibility for their actions. They don’t not try to compromise or understand what a real feminine woman is and try to live as such. It’s all about trying to prove that they can do better than men, which is the opposite of what a woman is. When life is comfortable and too easy we as humans get lazy and everything falls apart. Hardships strengthens humanity and provides us with valuable lessons. Both men and women balance each other but looking at modern society it doesn’t look good for the future as far as relationships. And we all know from past history that when men and women fail in balancing overall human relationship then societies tend to fall.

Why shouldn't they live and travel and be free before having to be locked down in marriage with kids and loads of responsibility where they won't have nearly as much mobility as when they were single? Who wants to start raising kids at 22 and not have a life anymore lol? Great video. You are so tuned in. I used to work in a department of an office that was 90% men. Once they started hiring more women things got pretty crazy. They started going to war with each other. It was very interesting to observe.

When I first saw a thumbnail with Erin in it. I imagined how she would sound in my head. When she spoke, I was shocked by how soft spoken and high her voice was. Im just so used to women sounding masculine, that when I hear a more feminine sounding woman, it genuinely surprises me.

"Why are women so immature?" Follow the money... if it pays to be immature then people will stay as immature as possible.

Nah, it's the fact that women are born with value and once they hit the peak of attention between 15 and 25 year old they don't have to work on themselves, they made it.
@checkmattee222Ай бұрын
@@ndhtyu using the word "value" to describe a human life isn't right. Humans are not pieces of flesh being sold at a market so there's no "value" here. A word like that is used only when selling or buying merchandise from a market. It is degrading to use that word to describe a fellow human being with a mind and soul just like yours.

@1984a-g9fАй бұрын
@@checkmattee222 He’s taking about high or low mate value or demand in the dating market. You are doing them, yourself, and everyone a huge disservice if you are pretending everyone is equally desirable and in demand in the dating market. Sure if I wouldn’t date someone that doesn’t mean they have less value as a human but that’s no what he is saying, he is saying young women(even relatively ugly overweight ones) have enormous pull in the dating market which means that men will pay for them and save them even if it means risking their health. I can pretend a 5’4 man with no job has the same market value as a 6’3 man who fits a suit well and is a successful entrepreneur but that’s insane. 100 out of 100 women pick the latter. That what mate value means expresses.

Hi Erin good essay! The answer to your query is simple,“feminism” has declared that any attempt to hold women to any standards is misogyny, when we used to hold women to a reasonable standard they behaved quite admirably and were considered the better sex but, when you declare any correction to be “hatred of Women”, you get the phenomena you so eloquently described. @@checkmattee222 Feminism, at its worst, is the claim, in the name of equality, that men and women are the same (other than reproductive abilities) and that, therefore, both genders should have identical roles in society, and if they don’t , it’s proof we live in an oppressive patriarchy. That is a clear denial of gender reality. Men are generally bigger, stronger, designed for heavy labor, while women are smaller, weaker, and more delicate for nurturing, so it’s nature that created the division of labor.

Unfortunately met many women like this and even a guy. They had certain things in common. Their own families didn't like them and did not wanna deal with them. Seriously one of them was not allowed to go stay at her parents' place was actually constantly begging for them to take her in despite the fact that they've already bought her a very nice flat right in the middle of a city center in a European capital. She had only two close friends and constantly felt lonely. Those two close friends also constantly tried to put some distance between her and themselves, because of how spoiled, self victimized, and selfish she was. She never stopped talking about how her life was the worst, and had the gall to call one of those friends to offer condolences after her uncle passed away only to talk about her problems once more to a mourning person, driving her away. And she never apologized to anyone according to her words. Another one escaped home as a teenager because her mother didn't understand her. Seriously, she's openly admitted that there was no abuse or violence of any sort, and she just felt not understood. She felt lonely and had very few friends. Constantly talked about how each and every man she's ever dated was abusive and wronged her. I actually felt sorry for her until I've dated her like an idiot. It was hell on earth. She was likewise self entitlement, self victimized, and always right. She also never apologized. I almost failed an entire semester of my master's degree trying to support her through her unstable moods, but she's literally told me "I don't like to talk to sad people." one time I needed emotional support from her. And this is just the tip of the iceberg tbh. The last one was constantly being yelled at and reprimanded by his family. I used to feel very sorry for him until he actually lived in my house because he couldn't live with his parents anymore and he was an old family friend. He promised to contribute to the financial spendings of the house, but didn't, and told me that he didn't have any money to give while buying expensive games for himself online. Did little to no housework around (literally all he did was emptying the dish washer once in a while) and actually reprimanded me for not doing enough despite the fact that I was spending the entire day out travelling between two cities to handle paperwork and other responsibilities, doing the grocery shopping for the house, cooking delicious and nutritious meals that required time and effort because I'm a health nut, doing the laundry...etc. He'd also make a lot of noise playing online games with his buds yelling constantly until 8 am. We've been constantly fighting, and my brother was the one who was holding me back from just kicking him out to the curb because they were best buddies. Luckily, after a short time, he left and told me that he felt like how we ran things in the house was unfair to him right before. Good riddance :D He must've been too used to his retired mother doing literally everything for him other than wiping his butt. Long story short, some people are this way. And the best way to deal with them seems to be not dealing with them at all. Don't try to reason with them, because they'll always tell you that they're the victim no matter the circumstances. Just interact with them as little as you can if you have to see them due to obligations, and kick em out of your life if you can.
@darthgibsonlp6631Ай бұрын
"Their own family didn't like them..." It's the biggest red flag of all. I know that might be unfair; that some people are genuinely victims of dysfunctional families, but that's the exception not the rule. If a woman is frozen out by most or all of her family then 95% of the time there is a damn good reason. These types, as you go on to mention, also never pick up or keep that many friends. I put it like this: the numbers don't lie. And yes, they can genuinely go through their entire lives without ever apologising for anything. It's mind boggling.
@baryonyАй бұрын
@@darthgibsonlp6631 yeah. I guess it was partly my fault for ignoring the red flags, but tbh I also was having trouble finding someone, so I was desperate, and I was basically love bombed at the beginning of the relationship.
