With a job, not having an alarm isn't an option for a lot of us. Same with having jobs with fluctuating schedules (open or close), bed time tends to fluctuate, too. Sounds like my biggest problem is having a job 😂

I highly suggest a "light alarm clock" (no idea how its called in english). Its an alarm clock that has a slowly increasing light source, that starts 30-40 minutes before the time you set for it to ring. It slowly moves your body towards "waking up"-mode. Usually, I wake up 5-10 minutes before the alarm clock goes off, then turn around, doze for 5-10 minutes, get fully awake, and start my day when the clock rings. its like naturally waking up to increasing light (=morning), but it still rings to give you the security to know when to get up. you cant miss it, but usually you wake up naturally.

I've been saying for years that I always feel completely different waking up to an alarm clock vs. waking up naturally, even with around the same hours of sleep.

How does that work
@keepyoursins
@keepyoursins Жыл бұрын
@@anemicishwhen you wake up without an alarm clock, your body is likely between sleep cycles, meanwhile if an alarm clock jolts you awake you can be in the middle of a cycle and thus feel groggy because you're sleep was disrupted. That's what I think.

It's sad that there are that many people in the world take half an hour to get out of bed. We should be thankful to have another day ahead of us, therr are many exciting opportunities to seek and get!
@nnnee.01
@nnnee.01 Жыл бұрын
Obviously one who is thankful will wake up with a different mindset than those who suffer from certain mental illnesses, such as depression and anxiety, which makes up to over 30% of Americans 2023. These illnesses wouldn't have existed in first place if they were as easy to treat as "seeking new opportunities in life" etc.

i always find these videos great and the fact that you always take time to search for scientific evidence is absolutely amazing, but: what do i do if i... - cant wake up without an alarm clock because i have to wake up at 6 am during the week, but even if i consistently go to sleep in time, when i do it on a weekend, i naturally wake up at 7-8 am. regardless of direct sunlight or smth - already never drink alcohol - im actively trying to have a wake up and sleep routine/ritual, but there is no chance im waking up at 6 am on weekends as well, which i think anyone reasonable can agree with - in summer its way easier to get sunlight than in winter, now its summer so hopefully i get some more. but when im in school for an average 8-9 hours a day + homework + hobbies (some of which are indoor) + 7.5-9 hours of sleep (indoor obviously), its getting hard to get plenty of time outdoors. and i do have direct sunlight after i wake up, since i walk to the bus station, and then from the bus station to school i do have to mention that being tired not only relies on this factors but a lot lot more, which you obviously cannot condense into a singular video, and this is not to talk negative about you, its the opposite, i admire the work you do. I´d just love you to implement not only the great ideas, but also alternatives and/or special cases, which still probably affect many people. all in all, great work and keep making these awesome videos!

Depends on what you consider more important. If it's important to you to stay up at the weekend so that 6 am isn't doable, then by all means. But it does mean you'll be sacrificing your sleep cycle which can have long term effects on your overall health and motivation.

Great and timely video. Tho for someone who suffers from tiredness since a long time there are also psychological issues connected with that. Like a general disliking of once life. Changing from paranoia to pronoia is essentially, and so is the practice of the interwoven energy body with something like tai chi or TC Chinese medicine

Once I wake up, I imediately get out of bed without delay despite being tired af. Idk why but the habit of me getting out of bed so early and not knowing what I'm supposed to do with the time I have is practically poison to me, it's gotten to the point where I'm getting less and less sleep now where my body doesn't even recognize rest anymore, all I think about everyday is work and work even though I dont really need to spend that much time on work anyway

It would be nice if my job let me come in whenever I wake up and work 8 hours from when I arrive, but an alarm clock seems like a necessity in this day and age. My Employers have always been very punishing when it comes to being late to work; even a 1 minute late punch in. Couple that with having to wake up before 5am everyday and having a family...yeah alarm clock cant go.
