I haven't seen the series. Is this for real? The Federation investigating Vulcan history? An advanced scientific space-faring civilization, wouldn't they do this themselves?

no the SNW writers killed the Spock we love. Instead we have a cad of a character: abusive, a cheater, unfaithful to his fiance (yes he's still engaged) and an absolute illogical moron. Enjoy.

WHY is Spock always with women? Does he have no male friends? Cuz that's a HUGE red flag....
@uncletaylorify6 ай бұрын
He does have male friends....Pike for one....he's more of a mentor but is still a friend. I honestly think the women want to be around him more then him around the women. They know Spock is engaged and not after them for sex. That makes him a good hanging out buddy for them.
@Patricia5996 ай бұрын
@@uncletaylorify psychologists consider it a red flag when a person has only friends of the opposite sex. We see very little sign of any friendship between Pike and Spock in 2 seasons. Instead both men are busy having sexual liaisons with women. rather than developing the friendships we see in TOS. And by Season 2 it is quite clear to all the many females on the bridge that Spock is most def interested in a sexual relationship with Chapel.
@Patricia5996 ай бұрын
@@uncletaylorify except it turns out he is looking for a hook-up after all. lol It's all about "feelings" and nothing about common sense, love or logic. So, no. He has no male friends that we can see. In Season 1 they appeared to be developing his relationship with Pike but Season 2 has been nothing but Chapel. And it's so odd he goes to a woman for sex/relationship advice. Pike is in a relationship so wouldn't that be more "logical". Apparently not.. Chapel is a player. And she early on admits to him that she avoids commitment. This Spock is dumb as rocks. Too bad this is what they went for.
@OptimusWombat4 ай бұрын
@@Patricia599 this Spock is young and inexperienced. He's still very much a fish out of water, and a far cry from the man he will become in TOS. Give it time.
@Patricia5994 ай бұрын
@@OptimusWombat I don't buy what the showrunners are feeding us. This Spock is irredeemable. He's more than engaged. A Vulcan engagement is supposedly not quite a marriage but much more than an engagement which we have seen. They take a "break" at T'Pring's request - they did not break their engagement. They need a ritual to do that. Off this immature stupid Spock runs to Chapel's bed without not a moment of logic in his tiny pretty head. He's a cheater and his unfaithfulness means he is not trustworthy. Infidelity is also abuse because it humiliates the other partner and breaks the bonds of trust. So now they made Spock not only unfaithful, untrustworthy, a liar, a cheater and a thief but also abusive. HOW can he possibly be redeemed. T'Pring imo is completely redeemed for her actions in TOS. She was right to dump this cad as fast as she could by any means available to her. That's what she did. AMEN to her. I have no love of what they have done to a beloved TOS character.
