But, while it might be an iconic fight, it’s not necessarily a close fight. In fact, today I’m gonna show you why I think Batman vs Spider-Man isn’t even close

If Batman just encounters Spiderman and knows nothing about him, he's not winning that engagement because Batmans power is in his skill, intelligence, and planning while Spidermans power is in his reaction time, agility, super strength, durability, and he's pretty comparable to Batman in intelligence, especially for his younger age.

Spider-man has to hold back. I mean a regular punch from Spidey has knocked out a T-rex. Spidey has also trained with Wolvrine, who has samurai training. Peter is also pretty smart. The guy has worked and fought some of the smartest guys in Marvel from Tony Stark to Doc Ock Heck he's dven helped bout the X-men. And they have Professor X and Beast. Spider-man is kind of crazy stat wise..

Spiderman is a class 10 superhero. Batman is peak human, which doesnt even equal class one. Each class equates to being able to bench press 1 ton (2,000 lbs) Spiderman can bench at least 10 tons (20,000 lbs). A body which can withstand that much weight can withstand anything Batman can dish out.

Even with prep time it doesn't make much difference. Spider-Man is on par with Bat-Man in terms of intelligence, damn near a super genius. He's been recognized by Reed Richards for his intelligence on multiple occasions, and Reed is the smartest man in his verse in most iterations.

I've seen this fight play out, although they stopped it quickly. Batman understood he was outclassed without any difficulty. Yeah, it would be impossible for Batman to beat him in any true fair fight, and I could even see Spider-Man winning a fight with Batman alone but prepared---simply because Spider Man doesn't have many weaknesses that Batman could exploit, and he's even able to win under conditions where his Spider Sense is prevented from working or weaponized against him. He's defeated more powerful guys like Venom and Carnage who don't set it off at all. It's completely fair to say Peter outclasses Bruce one-on-one with him losing a fight only under rare and extraordinary circumstances, perhaps if Batman is armed with one of the symbiotes (and I'm sure he would absolutely hate that idea), or in a case of plot armor.

Batman would use more brutal tactics then Spiderman. Batman doesn't hold back and Spiderman would. I could see Batman even getting into Peters head using it against him. Another point is Batman could beat any of the Spiderman villains but Spiderman couldn't beat all of the Batman villains. Example: Joker would drive Peter to insanity killing people he loves. People forget some things with Peter. 1) He has two villain types that are basically The Bat that Laughs. (the goblins and Carnage) 2) He has more experience with a wider pool than Bats in combat. Literally around 75%+ of his rouges were made to specifically counter him while bats are either smart or strong, rarely both. 3) Sidey has a lot of tools too. -Spider-tracers that tap into his Spider-Sense. -Camera -Flaslight -Built-in gas mask (usually) -Night-vision transitional lens. -Various web types (electro, cement, fire, etc.) 4) Sidey is as smart, or possibly smarter, than Tony and Hank since he builds his stuff from garbage. 5) Spidey holds back, even when angry. As he can rip you head off with ease by holding your face alone with a single hand.

Even Carnage AND Venom, who are at least twice as strong as Spidey, couldn't dot that to him. These same being you mentioned beat him as well. Your point doesn't have as much merit when Spidey took on the same and won as well. Only difference, Spidey still holds back, Bats don't usually. He stops short of killing, if human or human-like. Spidey. Being multi-dimensional, which we are, doesn't mean your intelligence or critical thinking is higher. Look at Dark Sied, Lex is a level 12 and he isn't despite being a whole dimension. Batman also made an armor out of Element X which could rewrite fiction, made a device which could stop time till Flash was moving in slow motion, Batman found a way to get rid of sorcerer's powers like Dr. Fate or Circe, Batman invented a new element which worked on Wraith the same way kryptonite does on Superman etc.

I'm glad people agree with this. Even those who talk about "prep time Batman" have to concede that "prep time Spiderman" is arguably just as OP, if not more so. Spiderman imo is kind of the opposite of Batman in this way. For all the times where writers have to give Batman plot armor in order for him to win, writers often have to give Spiderman... negative plot armor in order for him to even be touched. I think this is because Spiderman as a character is often written as an underdog, he's supposed to struggle, whereas Batman is written as an established legend who's supposed to dominate.

Don't discount Peter's intelligence. He is actually a genius who developed his amazing web shooters, WHILE STILL IN HIGHSCHOOL. And when Spiderman comes across a villain who has some huge advantage over him, Spiderman can rework his web fluid to counter the advantage. There also have been many incidents where Spiderman has won a battle by outsmarting his opponent, and while I believe Batman can still outsmart Spiderman tactically, Batman would have to work for it. Batman is one of my favorite characters but lets be honest he also has the most plot armor of all comic book characters. There is literally no way he is beating anyone outside of humans even with planning. The flash, superman, wonder woman etc can all move faster than Batman can see let alone think about how to defend against or predict what is coming next. Superman can crack the earth with his hits so there is no armor strong enough to defend against a blow from him or characters near his strength. Spider man isnt as powerful as them but still can move faster than Batman can see or think about responding to. Plus also has the strength to just annihilate batman. Just like Bruce has many suits to counter specific foes, so does Spider-Man, and unfortunately a highly trained, heavily armed, peak physique human hunting Spider-Man is not new for him. The only thing Batman could do with his prep time is try to counter his Spider-Sense. It's been done before by Tony Stark, but if Peter locks in you just can't really counter it unless you are Venom. (Symbiote Batman would be scary though) He would also try to counter Spider-Man's web shooters. A little bit easier thing to do. Just disrupt the circuitry- WRONG! Spider-Man has built his shooters to withstand Electro, you pretty much have to destroy them. Which if Batman can land a blow on him, could happen. However, Peter is simply just too fast to let Batman do that.

The thing about these two is that Batman always pushes himself past his limits to beat metahumans while Spiderman is ALWAYS holding back. Except the situations when he knows his opponent can actually take his full-strength punches like Venom or Carnage. I mean remember that time Otto Octavius took over his body and accidentally punched off Scorpion's lower jaw CLEAN OFF? Yeah - Spidey calls himself "The FRIENDLY Neighborhood SpiderMan" for a reason.

The real reason Peter Parker would defeat Bruce Wayne, in a fight, is due to his intelligence and smart mouth. Parker may very well be smarter than Wayne is. This means he’s going to see through all the theatricality. That air of intimidation is about 90% of what makes Wayne so effective. Take that edge away from him, and he really is just a guy, albeit an extraordinarily conditioned one, in a costume with a bunch of really expensive, themed toys. Seeing Bruce that way, Pete would just start ripping on the man, mocking him in ways that cut really deep. The entire time he’s doing this, he’s also dodging everything Wayne’s throwing at him without breaking a sweat. Somewhere in there, Bruce gets really angry, stops thinking strategically and starts getting reckless. That’s when Parker would take him down and wouldn’t understand what the big deal was as he was doing it. The inevitable rematch would basically go the same way. Bruce Wayne would end up really not liking Spider-Man. Meanwhile, Peter Parker would think Batman was grossly overrated.

It’d be close if Batman has prep-time (he still loses to Spider-Man in that scenario). However, without prep-time, it’s not even close.
