100% true. I have the HTC and it's all about the exhaust noise. You didn't even mention how much direct injection noise you get with the coupe over the convertible. Its a constant ticking noise. Also agree that exotic look from the back is amazing!!

Very true! I thought the little ticking nose we have in the htc was bad..... And then I drove the coupe... Its too bad they couldn't have sealed the engine in the coupe abit better.

Yea I bought it for the enjoyment of driving it. Not to just look at it and worry about resale value. It’s an incredible machine meant to be driven. Every time I get in it I’m more impressed with it. As Clark Griswald said "you will have to surgically remove the smiles from our faces"

We love our 2023 3LT HTC non-Z51, it’s perfect and you are right about hearing the exhaust. We have the top down, unless it’s raining, all of the time. We sent the car looks better top up or down than the coop plus, I don’t have to clean the engine department every time I go out in the car after it rains.

One of the main reasons I went with the HTC is that the full trunk is useable when the top is down vs. the coupe’s angled pop top taking up all the room. You can only fit triangle shaped or soft items around the top, not to mention that you’d have to lift it up to get to anything underneath it. Okay for a day cruise, but not a short weekend trip if you want to go topless. I’ve also heard that the buffeting in the coupe os an issue vs. having the awesome adjustable window keep it under control in the HTC. Yes, I roll down the back window with top up just to get that exhaust sound too…

Hey guys after testing both the HTC and the Coupe they do sound different while you are DRIVING!!! The htc you can hear the burbles and pops much easier. If this is a issue for you please post below what you have and if you can hear pops or not! Thanks everyone! 👍

There's so much more to the HTC over the coupe. Sculpturing, looks, sound and air flow when the top is down just to name a few. Not to knock the coupe, but the HTC is just so much more exotic! I traded my '21 coupe for the '22 HTC. Never looked back.

That's so true. Also when your inside the car and look back at the engine it looks like your looking at a go-cart unless you add thousands of dollars in engine appearance packages and change the hoses.You see the bars and hoses not that attractive from the inside looking back. Just my opinion and another reason why I went for the HTC instead the coupe

also i have heard the wind noise while driving is lower on the HTC due to the better aero from the nacelles and the window being able to be rolled down. Can you confirm?

Yes that is true. My friends wife cant have her hair down while they have the top down in his C8. She always ends up putting her hair up because with the top down creates a wind pocket. My wife has long hair and doesn't have that issue. And we can both talk np with the top down. 👍

Btw it also works great with the windows up as well. I even put the heater on sometimes lol.

It's funny how people with the HTC say is the better choice, honestly, there are no "noises" you talk about with the coupe.. take the hard top off the coupe and it's basically the same.. plus you get to see the engine on the coupe, which is pretty cool.. please stop with the noise issue, it's not at all what you are saying...

I have lived with both. Not one and then the other, both at the same time(barrowed) and yes there is a difference....a huge difference. But I probably wont convince you and that's fine. But I do see positives of the the coupe/removable top(And its not removing the top lol) First off being able to see the engine like you said but more important is weight, so If you track it then coupe is the way to go. Also 0-60 times are better, around .2 seconds faster from my testing and that's a lot. And that's about where it ends...at least for me. Its Funny you left this comment though. I got an email from Mike from Criswell corvette about getting my build sheet for the 2024 stingray literally yesterday and I had to pass. I was going to get a Coupe for testing and track but Im so busy with salvage builds stuff I decided not to get it. Kind of made me a little sad. 😢

I hate the quite sound in the Z51 coupe. I traded the sucker for a HTC non Z51 with performance exhaust and front and rear spoiler .

I've seen a lot of POV videos both HTC and Coupe (in person), and yours is the only HTC where I hear those pops, so I think there's something else going on here...

Well in most my pov vids I have sound equipment near the exhaust "So you can hear it better" but in my most recent vid " How to, C8 Corvette POPS & Burbles, Stock sport Exhaust" the equipment is in the cabin and you can still hear it. I have also herd other C8s make the same noise. All you have to do is have the sport exhaust from the factory and have it in Z mode then downshift from third to second at 2500 to 2000 rpm and let off the gas to build back pressure and your C8 farts. There is a reason I drive slower in my vids and thats to make that noise. Its not about how fast you go. 👍

My HTC has all the same sounds. Shift points can impact the sound too.

My issue is that am I gonna be able to supercharge it. It’ll be nice to have both the HTC and modifiable but from what I’ve seen im afraid the engine bay is too small to put any respectable supercharger in there. Maybe a turbo but I’m not a fan of the spooling up thing

Yea I see where you are coming from. I have ordered another c8 htc and i`m going to try to twin turbo it. I dont know if it will fit but i`m going to do my best to make it happen! 👍 For sure I think a supercharger would give me a problem but I could be wrong.

It also feels heavier on the road, because it is. Not as nimble. Drive a Z51 1LT vs a Z51 2LT; you can feel the 300 lbs difference. The HTC is a heavy lady, good for the street; not so good on the track. FYI the coupe's top comes off and awww Boral...Sooooo?

Hi J.V. , The HTC is still 77lbs more "thats it", that fact remains. We are not talking about 1lt vs 2 or 3lt. Although the weight difference between Z51 1LT vs a Z51 2LT is not 300 pounds. a better comparison would be bare bones 1lt non z51 coupe vs 3lt max loaded htc. In which the htc option is still only 77lbs more... you should care more about the z51 pack coming in at 151 pounds. So in essence a non z51 1lt htc weighs less than a z51 coupe...As for the coupes top coming off? I dont believe you...people say it does but I have never seen one out in the wild with its top off lol. That could be because Im in Oregon. or maybe they loose truck space? Or too lazy because they dont have a button like us htc guys and still keep our trunk space? Ill be honest, either way I still dont give a shit . 👍

To each his own, for me that is the biggest and there are many other reasons as well. Being able to hear the exhaust is important for me. I have driven both and there is to much of a difference to not notice it even at 5k. The problem with the coupe and even adding an aftermarket exhaust is the engine noise is still there, but you can hear the exhaust a bit better.

I have driven both and there is a clear difference in sounds when in the drivers seat. Everyone that has driven both that I have asked agree. If you open the htc trunk and the coupe and put them side by side they would both sounds the same OF COURSE...but that's not what we are talking about. If you didnt get it in the video then you wont if I explain it lol. Maybe you should go drive both and see for yourself like others have...👍
