I'm a pastor, and I appreciate the overall point. Christians don't have to be broke to be spiritual. That being said, we should be careful that we use wealth for the kingdom and not just our own bellies. I also appreciate the last point you made. My wife finds it very hard to argue with my arguments even though she's often unconvinced by them.

I have a concern with smaller churches being defined as “unsuccessful” and a church is a success because of 2500+ members. I think it’s wrong to tell pastors to shut down their churches be an administrator at big church. Believers have different needs that can’t all be met in big churches. And much of what we call success in church are natural metrics because that which is success in the spirit can’t always be measured in a number. 1 Cor. 3:27-29

I am a Christian in real estate and Word of Faith. I believe in sowing seeds. I agree that some preachers have taken in too far but I have seen in work in my life. The key is being obedient and not being emotional about it.

I loved this podcast with pastor Manny Arango and Ryan Pineda. It was very thought provoking. Manny and Ryan had a very good discussion about faith, church, money, broke mentality, sin, business, Israel, children, investing, vision, Bible, and last but not least Jesus. I also agreed with Manny when he said the Jewish people get something right better than the Christians and that owning the real estate deepens a church or persons spiritual authority, the story about the car and the police man. I have been in real estate for 40 years now I have seen this principle play out.

It's important to get the heart and mind right regarding money. God doesn't care about money, he cares about the heart. I like that meditation book called 30 Days to Drop A Bad Spending Habit by Harper Daniles, I found it helped my psyche.

One of the members of the band Megadeth is a preacher and another is a Christian. They are not broke. Alice Cooper is a Christian and he is not broke. Lee Strobel is a Christian and he is not broke. Joyce Meyer is not broke. Sarah Jackes Roberts is not broke. There are lots of Christians who are in the Tech industry. They are not broke.
