Fittingly the stormtrooper program saw a volunteer army of individuals across diverse worlds from different backgrounds who are then made to look identical in their stormsrooper armor. Whereas the clone trooper program had identical individuals who over time became more diverse.

Reminds me of the old Northstar study guides and tapes in the Navy. The one I had the narrator had a really thick southern accent and you could hear chickens, cows, and other farm animals in the background along with a screen door slamming every note and then because these tapes were recorded at someone’s house and not a professional recording studio.😁

I think you were really mixing up what bits of Rex's helmet were which phase! His mouthpiece is phase 2, his visor is phase 1, and his crown is phase 2 again. I do wonder which bits of his chestpiece were which though, as only the helmet is visually distinct between stock unpainted versions of the armour.

Day twenty nine of asking Eck my question: #AskEck Why do you think the pirates kept grogu, there was quite obviously a bounty on him considering all the hunters with tracking fobes and I doubt they wouldn't have known about it, so we're actually protecting him. My theory is that after he was saved after the purge, so senator or rebel group hired these pirates to protect him, but was eventually captured by the empire or forgot about grogu, (why he was never given to the new republic after the war), and the pirates not knowing he was a jedi just kept and raised him till mando showed up, killed them and stole their kid.

I remember hearing years ago, that Stormtrooper armor is solid white for mostly non combat / story related uses. Identical troopers are impossible to differentiate (without inner helmet HUD). Troopers were ordered to keep their armor clean and unblemished for conformity's sake. Imagine the effect it would have on the morale of a Rebel soldier, to take down a Stormtrooper in battle just for another identical one to immediately take their place.

My personal headcanon is that the Empire chose white armour for propaganda reasons- the white armour of the clones made Republic citizens feel safe "The boys in white are here, everything's okay" We never really see Imperial loyalist worlds, where Stormtroopers would be a welcome sight to the locals

I mean, they got the infrastructure for cloning, breeding and even training millions of clones for war, but weren't able to make more suitable armors?

Same reasons modern developed nations, some ecen with even more advanced allies, struggle to make their own domestic weapons/equipment in the real world. U can create something theoretically great, even does ok in tests, but once in acc combat that's when u see the real issues come out.

#AskEck Why were slug throwers (firearms) not used more threw out the galaxy? It seems to me they have a lot of advantages over blasters. For example, most of the armor used threw out the galaxy is designed to stop energy-based projectiles but not solid ones. I think if you were to shoot a clone or stormtrooper with a slug thrower the bullet would just punch right threw, and likely crack or shatter the plate in the process. Also, I think slug throwers would be very effective against someone using a lightsaber because you can't deflect the round. It will simply pass right threw and hit you anyway, and now the bullet is also molten hot. It would make a lot of sense for someone like Cad Bane or Mandalorians to add slug throwers into their arsenals.

#AskEck So this has always bothered me by Disney but has anyone ever explained why they flat out rejected all the expanded universe out right in the beginning when they started the Sequel trilogy back when they acquired the rights of Lucasfilms? I'm aware of the famous ridiculous line of Kathleen Kenedy of how they had nothing to work with going forward. Was it legality issues witb each author of the books/games/comics or cheaper for them to start fresh?
