If you're not going to invest in a gun right away, punch a hole into corner of a recipe card (or cut them in half and make 2), make a label for each lip balm you sell, slap each of those labels on their own card and put the cards on a loose leaf ring binder. You can flip through the cards to find the one you want to scan it by itself without the other ones getting in the way. 😊 Good luck! I hope the new printer works well for you!

I almost chose the Dymo. I know someone that uses it with shopify but reading into it they try to say they are compatible with rollo. they are saying the same thing with the barcode scanner (they sell the only one that is compatible) it is kind of a racket actually but I am scarred to try something else...I suppose I can return it if it doesn't work...

I use square and found a scan gun for 29 on Amazon that was compatible. I would look around. It’s so nice to have!

oh that sounds awesome! I don't think I can do that (but I'm not sure). I have read that Shopify is compatible with only 2, one for android and one for ios. and wouldn't you know, they are available on their website... I may have to dig a bit and see if another one would work though! Thanks 🤗

I am loving it so far Nora! I wish I had bought the label printer forever ago. of course last week I got offered a free one from Munbyn LOL DANG IT! 😂 I may have another printer I can work with them with though. It's fun to get something new in to try (and free helps 😂) We'll see if anything comes of that💕

I love the idea of a bar code for shows. I've had a Demo 4xl for about 5 years and it's been a workhorse. I also have the bluetooth Rollo at my studio because I needed to be able to print off of my iPad. The Dymo will print the tiny labels if you decided to go that way. I also struggle with keeping my inventory in check (currently taking inventory right now ugh) particularly after events. In the fall and winter, it becomes next to impossible and I've had a couple times when someone orders something that is gone and I'm not able to remake. Oops. Is there anyway you can use your phone as the scanner for the barcodes? Although, a scan gun sounds like fun :D I'm glad I'm not the only one that struggles with this! I keep saying that I'll use the shopify POS to make it easier but I don't always have all my inventory on my site either. It's all a struggle!

I don't think (at this moment anyway) that I will spend more money on a printer but I do wish I could print smaller than a 2 inch wide one. I can cut them but that takes time and annoys me LOL ugh - inventory - have fun with that one LOL I feel your pain I am using the ipad instead of my phone because I will be able to leave it behind during my brothers wedding - no way am I leaving my phone 😆 I do use the shopify POS - I think you should try it! It does make things so much easier. If you didn't know - it has an option for custom sales - I just put Misc on the "title" and then put in how much to charge. I used to do this for every credit card sale before barcoding - Customer Name "Christmas Market" - Price "26.00" - title "misc". collect payment and move on.

@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique haha, yeah, I wouldn't leave my phone either!! You could design them so you have two bar codes on one label with a center line, then cut them with a paper trimmer? It's a pain because it's extra time, but it's an idea. Also, I had NO idea about the custom sales option!!! I just looked at the POS software and there it was! I've been using Square for as long as Square has been around so it would be good to keep it all under "one roof" for markets, particularly during tax time. I do love the square reports though.

I was thinking of suggesting the codes on a sheet of paper, just before you mentioned you did that and that it wasn't great. If the cost is low for the barcode stickers, my thought was to add them to all (newly made) products going forward (and as needed on existing products.) I have never priced that out, so maybe it's not worth it.

Hi Tara! I honestly don't know the cost difference of that either. I do need to think about the time it would take me to pack up and labeling everything at that time. It already takes me a couple of nights (after work) to pack up. That may add 1-2 nights of packing...certainly something to think about. I have a show in a couple of weeks and plan on seeing if I can improve my overall workflow with it. Thanks for your suggestion! 😍

I use Square and it only uses a couple of barcode scanners. It takes a long time to come up with the sku's. Did you go through that? I really need to do the different soap scents. Right now I just have the barcodes for the different prices. I have way to many fragrances. I'm trying to use up fragrance oils that don't sell well so I've been mixing some with others. Those won't be around forever so when there gone I will go through and break down the fragrances. Good luck with all this. You are a trooper.

I use Shopify and add every product on the website individually. I don't have to worry with sku's in that platform and just print the barcodes for each scent. I love it because it is taking each item sold off my website immediately. I have signed up for a couple more craft shows before my big one so hopefully I can get everything ironed out during those. I have been doing the same thing with my fragrances. I just had a marathon wax melt making session with, not the sole purpose, but a significant purpose of getting rid of bottles I don't plan to buy again and then I bought more fragrances 😂😂😂

Hey Aubrey - I only do a couple of shows between April and October. But I did just sign up for one in Aug and one in Sept! Very small shows but I need the bump in revenue. This year has be a hard one with everything costing so much to purchase. Hope your sales are going good! 💕

All Thermal labels fade and you can't see what's on them after 6 to 8 weeks and less if heat or sun.

yeah, I have had them for at least 2 months now and they are fine. I don't have to worry too much about sun or wet because I do very very few outdoor shows. I am a delicate flower (as my husband has finally accepted LOL) and don't do the heat well at all 😂
