The age of consent in the US at the 19th century was 10 years old in most states and 7 at Delaware, and we won't teach them how should their society should function. 3. Before the first wave of feminism in early 1900's the age of Aisha was never used by critics even the most uncharitable ones, Think about it if this was something worthy of criticism why that argument wasn't used prior to modernity ? 4. Aisha grew up to be a Scholar, Jurist, Leader even in military at one point, she alone narrated more than 3000 hadith as she is the second highest transmitter of hadith, she is to Islam is like Peter or John to Christianity, so far that doesn't show any harm on her in fact she was benefited by her marriage and benefited the Muslim world, if it wasn't for her marriage she would have no impact or name in history. 5. Quran 33:28-29 gave the wives of the prophet including Aisha a second choice to remain with him in marriage or leave if they wanted and she decided to remain married, she was around 15 at this point, So why the "abused" wife deciding to remain with her husband ?

They studied it from many different angles and came to the conclusion that this is the most likely scenario. As he could not change a practice of society until he received Divine revelation. By marrying ‘Aishah and delaying consummation the Prophet was hoping to change society of pre-teen marriages by his action. This practice did end after details of the law on marriage were revealed to him at Madinah. Mohammad was king of Arabia, it is doubtful if he was a pedophile he would marry widows and divorcees when he could have all the “little” girls pedophiles relish. In contrast, the Biblical God (and as Christians say Jesus is God, Jesus) commanded genocide and instituted pedophilia, killing all males and giving 16,000 little virgin girls to soldiers as war booty (sex slaves): “kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who hath known man by lying with him, but all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him (virgin girls) keep alive for yourselves…And the booty….thirty and two thousand (32,000) persons in all of women that had not known man by lying with him (virgins)….the portion of them that went out to war, was…sixteen thousand….the men of war had taken spoil every man for himself”-(Numbers 31:1-53). The Prophet (swt) didnt touch her or show any intimacy/adult interactions whatsoever until she was of the correct age. Today the age of marriage is 18 years in india and in some of the countries it is less than 18 like usa it is 16, even in usa Texus satae it is 14. This is there law. So as i am living in india i cannot see that those people who are living in any other country whose age of consent is below 18 can be wrong because it is there law. This is present condition. Lets talk about past, in india As per Indian penal code 1860, age of consent is 10 years for girls. Means just before 200 years ago, girls who reach the age of 10 and above are married. Later on marriage age for girl increases with the passage of time now in 1978 the marriage age for girls in india becomes 18 and till now it is same. So todays definition of child is any girl who is below 18. But this is not true when you look to past just 200 years ago. And you are asking question about something that happens 1400 years ago and judging it from todays perspective. Another one Scientifically what is the marriage age of a girl, it is when a girl reaches its puberty/menstruation. As we all know that Girls attain puberty earlier than boys at an age of 9-12 some girls at age 9 and some later. This is exactly what Islamic law says that Any girl who attains age of puberty can marry a boy of his choice whether belongs to his age or above or below it's her choice. If a person wants to marry a boy/girl, our beloved prophet mohammad (pbuh) said 4 things people look at virtue, nobility, wealth, family but u should look for Virtue/Piousness. So the father of Aisha(PBUH) considered the Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) as the most respectable person and most honoured person above all person that he knew at that time, so as a father he married her daughter to him. He never lie, never cheat, respect other person,respect women, etc. There is a custom in arab at that time and it is also practised today that some of their parents married their daughter early but the marriage consummate when the girl become adult. Aisha(PBUh) when she reaches at age 9 the marriage consummate and she is an Adult because she mensturates. She lived happily with prophet Mohammed(pbuh) for 9 years. She never complain that she was being ill treated or abused after marriage. She also narrated that Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) was best in controlling his sexual desires. Today the age of marriage is 18 years in india and in some of the countries it is less than 18 like usa it is 16, even in usa Texus satae it is 14. This is there law. So as i am living in india i cannot see that those people who are living in any other country whose age of consent is below 18 can be wrong because it is there law. This is present condition. Lets talk about past, in india As per Indian penal code 1860, age of consent is 10 years for girls. Means just before 200 years ago, girls who reach the age of 10 and above are married. Later on marriage age for girl increases with the passage of time now in 1978 the marriage age for girls in india becomes 18 and till now it is same. So todays definition of child is any girl who is below 18. But this is not true when you look to past just 200 years ago. And you are asking question about something that happens 1400 years ago and judging it from todays perspective. Another one Scientifically what is the marriage age of a girl, it is when a girl reaches its puberty/menstruation. As we all know that Girls attain puberty earlier than boys at an age of 9-12 some girls at age 9 and some later. This is exactly what Islamic law says that Any girl who attains age of puberty can marry a boy of his choice whether belongs to his age or above or below it's her choice. If a person wants to marry a boy/girl, our beloved prophet mohammad (pbuh) said 4 things people look at virtue, nobility, wealth, family but u should look for Virtue/Piousness. So the father of Aisha(PBUH) considered the Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) as the most respectable person and most honoured person above all person that he knew at that time, so as a father he married her daughter to him. "My question to u is If u have a daughter/sister to whom u will allow her to marry" Options are: A wealthy person, good family background, handsome/good looking and Virtue/pious person. He never lie, never cheat, respect other person,respect women, etc. There is a custom in arab at that time and it is also practised today that some of their parents married their daughter early but the marriage consummate when the girl become adult. Aisha(PBUh) when she reaches at age 9 the marriage consummate and she is an Adult because she mensturates. She lived happily with prophet Mohammed(pbuh) for 9 years. She never complain that she was being ill treated or abused after marriage. She also narrated that Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) was best in controlling his sexual desires. My grandmother got married at the age of 14 and had her firstborn, my uncle, at 15. Girls just 1-2 generations back were more matured than women at 30s nowadays. Once ‘Aisha mentioned to the Prophet (ﷺ) a story from Arabian folklore in which eleven women including Umm Zar‘ describe the conduct and bearing of their husbands.[32] Whereas the rest of women describe their husbands in a negative way Umm Zar‘ spoke only good of her husband Abu Zar‘ and his household except that Abu Zar‘ subsequently divorced her and she also married a chieftain who bestowed many gifts upon her. Towards the end of the story Umm Zar‘ remarked that all the gifts her chieftain husband had given her were worthless compared to the least of the gifts she had received from Abu Zar‘. She said, “I did not feel jealous of any woman as much as I did of Khadija because Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to mention her very often.”[36] In the same vein using an ingenuous simile she highlighted her being the only wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) not previously married.[37] She is also reported to have said to the Prophet (ﷺ), “Why would one like me not feel jealous for a husband like you?” In fact, the Prophet’s (ﷺ) love for ‘Aisha was quite known to those around him.[26] He mentioned this to his daughter Fatima as well on which she also pronounced her love for ‘Aisha.[27] Accordingly, people would wait for day of ‘Aisha’s turn to send gifts to the Prophet (ﷺ) in a bid to seek his pleasure.[28] In fact, even after the death of the Prophet (ﷺ) people would refer to her as “Beloved of the Messenger of Allah” (habibat al-rasul Allah)[29] and his dearest wife.[30] ‘Aisha too loved the Prophet (ﷺ) and would wish to be sacrificed for him. Before his death, Prophet Muhammad's very last words to his companions were: “Treat women with kindness, treat women with kindness! Have fear of God in relation to them and make sure you want well for them". These were his last public words concerning women which responded to the meaning of the following revealed verse regarding the life of a couple: "And of His signs is that he created for you, of yourselves, spouses, that you might repose in them, and He has set between you love and mercy. Surely in that are signs for people who consider”⁰ Another narration I want to share further demonstrates how you can't say the Prophet was a pedophile “The Prophet said “Aisha RA, allow me to spend the night worshipping my lord.” She replied “By Allah, love your closeness and I love whatever gives you pleasure."61 We learn a few things from this hadith. 1. That the Prophet used to ask Aisha RA for permission. Why would he do this? Why would he not just do what he wanted? Is it because they had a normal loving relationship, yes exactly! 2. The assertion that Aisha was 9 comes from a single hadith, this hadith was not subjected to the same scrutiny that most others in the Quran were and was in fact the testimony of only a single man, a man whose other proclamations were called into question due to his advanced age and poor memory. Some facts about Aisha She was born before “The Call” and The Prophet became engaged to her ten years after “the Call” upon the death of his first wife, Khadija. It is stated that her parents were companions of The Prophet before “The Call” and that her father had already promised her to another man previously. This may have happened when she was six. After she was betrothed it was five years before she was married, this is evidenced where it explains she was betrothed two years before the hijra to Medina, which took three years and she was married the year after the hijra took place. Aisha is said to have died at the age of 66 years old at 58 AH, this means at the time of the call she was eight years old. If she was only engaged after the call (even by a year) she must have been nine and as her marriage was three years later she would have been a minimum of 12. However, Aisha’s sister Asma is stated to have been ten years older than Aisha and is listed as being 28 years old in the first year of the call. This makes Aisha 18 years old at the time and then 19 at time of marriage. Clearly these two factors contradict each other, added to the problem is that the Hadith were traditionally passed on verbally and as stated Aisha’s age (unlike legal hadith) was not really a matter for discussion. Aisha was reported to have taken part in battles alongside The Prophet, riding a camel providing water for others. Muhammand prohibited children from fighting and taking part in battles in any way, meaning she must have been reckoned as an adult. Finally, The Prophet forbid marriages to take place unless both parties independently agreed as adults to it. As a nine year old, Aisha would not have been considered an adult and as a result could not have given permission for the marriage. Fathers are not allowed to force children to marry under the Prophet’s decrees.

If "children" are not meant to create life, why are they capable of it at such a young age? Societal values are subjective, but the most objective way to determine what can and cannot be done is through nature. And nature dictates when a human being or any animal can procreate, which begins as young as the ages of 8-15 for boys and girls. To add on to that, different societies have different standards for when relationships/marriage are appropriate. Here in the west, you find children as young as 5 being encouraged to date, and sexual relations are encourage as young as 10 onwards, while the appropriate age for marriage is being considered 25-30. Again, it's all subjective. Elsewhere in the world, it is normal to get married as young as 15 or 16, or even younger. Looking at different time periods, it was normal to marry people 10 or 20 years older than you in the west a hundred years ago. So to conclude, its not fair to judge when and how people live their lives and what their standards are as a culture or place because it is incredibly subjective. What is considered normal now will not be in a hundred years, or even fifty. If you want to see what is objectively the standard, refer back to my first sentence.

I don’t find this a very useful explanation, apart from the way it casts the background quite well(of who Aisha was, her relationship toward the prophet etc), there are still some points who don’t connect and not such a good explanation. Firstly, child marriage is not allowed in Islam according to verse 4:6, which clearly links the age of marriage with emotional maturity AND physical maturity, thus we can conclude that you have to be both physically(which doesn’t happen overnight, puberty takes time) and emotionally mature to be of the age of marriage. While the Quran literally indicates that there is an “age of marriage” when both consenting partners are mature physically and mentally to enter into the legal contract of marriage (4:21), it would be highly unlikely that Prophet Muhammad would go against the standards set in the Quran. Now leave aside if the age of nine is mature enough or not(or if Aisha was exceptionally mature), let’s take a closer look at where this Hadith comes from. This is written nowhere in the Quran so not a single soul can proof this true as Hadiths are written by human beings, who have the capability of making faults, therefore we shouldn’t take everything for true. the age of Hazrat Aisha can be easily calculated from the age of her elder sister Hazrat Asma who was 10 years older than Hazrat Aisha. Waliuddin Muhammad Abdullah Al-Khateeb al Amri Tabrizi the famous author of Mishkath, in his biography of narrators (Asma ur Rijal), writes that Hazrat Asma died in the year 73 Hijri at the age of 100, ten or twelve days after the martyrdom of her son Abdullah Ibn Zubair. It is common knowledge that the Islamic calendar starts from the year of the Hijrah or the Prophet’s migration from Mecca to Medina. Therefore, by deducting 73, the year of Hazrat Asma’s death, from 100, her age at that time, we can easily conclude that she was 27 years old during Hijra. This puts the age of Hazrat Aisha at 17 during the same period. As all biographers of the Prophet agree that he consummated his marriage with Hazrat Aisha in the year 2 Hijri it can be conclusively said that she was 19 at that time and not nine as alleged in the aforementioned hadiths. So why don’t Muslims give this simple calculation instead? It’s unfortunately not that simple and although this calculation is very logical it is problematic for especially lots of Muslim scholars. Why? If Aisha was not 9 then this means that the hadith in the book of Bukhari is wrong.The issue is not just about Aisha’s age. It’s a bigger issue about the sacrocanctity of sahih hadiths. Hadiths, especially sahih hadiths, have always been considered as second only to Quran in authority, almost divine, in classical Islamic theology. This is the reason why most Muslim clerics do not like to question the authenticity of the hadith of Aisha’s age, especially in an open forum. So they just beat around the bush instead, making things worse. Leaving aside that it’s completely possible of Hadiths being incorrect, that’s a side point here. The main point is the fact that we all know the main concern of critics is not to find out the age of Aisha but it is to show that Prophet Muhammad was a lust-driven, sinful, unethical person. This idea goes back to the time of Crusades. According to the academic Kecia Ali: "Accusations of lust and sensuality were a regular feature of medieval attacks on the prophet’s character and, by extension, on the authenticity of Islam."This is just one example of how the prophet was described disturbingly on purpose. If the prophet was indeed such someone who acted on lust, he wouldn’t have stayed with only Khadidjah(r.a.) for 15 years when he was young and was very much allowed to have more wives, neither would he marry (old) widows after his first wife’s death, but would probably go more for young beautiful virgin girls which does sound more like what people are thought to believe rather than who he actually was. But he didn’t, except for Aisha none of his wives were a virgin either. What is absolutely clear is that Aisha and the prophet had a loving relationship, which set the standard for reciprocity, tenderness and respect enjoined by the Qur’an. Insights into their relationship, such as the fact they liked to drink out of the same cup or race one another, are indicative of a deep connection which belies any misrepresentation of their relationship. To paint Aisha as a victim is completely at odds with her persona. She was certainly no wallflower. During a controversial battle in Muslim history, she emerged riding a camel to lead the troops. She was known for her assertive temperament and mischievous sense of humour. To conclude, the ones manipulating her story to justify the abuse of young girls, and those who manipulate it in order to depict Islam as a religion that legitimises such abuse have more in common than they think.

Okay, im clearing this up for all. The things they say is all from the hadith if you check the hadith its false and hearsy and the quran says Then in what Hadith [Statement] after it (the Qur’an) will they believe?
