We are in a unique situation bc our parents later in life realized their mistakes and are now lovely. So while they were part of our trauma, we have a good relationship with them now.

We definitely seek out people talking about trauma and abuse in the hopes that we can finally understand what we went through ourselves. We thank systems and other survivors who tell their stories, but also we understand why most people don't. It will most likely have horrible consequences if you share it. People can figure out your triggers and use them against you. Your abusers can find out and seek you out. It can destabilise your system. I know that we start heavily dissociating whenever we dig a little too deep and go into flashbacks and rapid switching. Oh, and when people know what you went through, they will view you differently. And honestly, I am also scared to traumatise my loved ones if they knew what happened to me

7:37, L, Mage System more broadly: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!❤ I've always felt like you said, just... not ENOUGH to be feeling and thinking the horrible things we did sometimes, and still do sometimes... I thought We was I for 25 years... an impromtu "first" relationship unfortunately unlocked Pandora's box for Us... looking for treatment is a bitch to find and terribly expensive... especially after I let the specialist charge my health insurance company $6000 for getting my Autism and ADHD diags. last summer... but everything I see from channels like Ya'lls sure makes me hope there's hope for Us to understand ourselves and unpack the trauma some of us hold and are honestlyvgetting too tired to keep holding... gotta keep moving forward, man, gotta keep moving forward. THANK YOU FOR EXISTING!!! 💜💜💜

I will occasionally say the general topic of what I went through, like CSA or trafficking, but that is the full extent of what I will say. Anything past that is just… private and uncomfortable to share.

i never really thought about it - but you know, no matter what i don't want anyone looking at me and picturing that horrific crap happening. no thanks. Quite frankly everyone expects me to be so f-in strong and support them - they don't want to hear that i might cry, never mind the other stuff. Obviously if you are sitting and watching a TV show with me and some thing happens that makes me react - then you've got a good guess there. It's been a tough year so far and i want to say how much i appreciate you and Thankyou for this video L The lamp wasn't good enough 🤪 get yourself a new funky lamp that suits you 😉

I personally don’t have DID, but I am an autistic trans guy who has parents that often dismiss my autistic traits, and don’t take certain boundaries I have seriously. This channel has definitely helped me understand DID (as much as I can, considering I don’t have it and am not a licensed professional). I know it’s not the same, but a lot of people don’t really understand autism either, and make a lot of assumptions. I think it’s really cool that you’re so comfortable sharing this part of yourself online, and I absolutely understand not wanting to share your trauma. Hope you’re doing well.

I wanted for things to mellow out, and I hoped it would. I found when the rubber met the ground my parental unit's other difficult tendencies would come into play. It's been hard. I relate so much to the idea of being about to converse on the most shallow of things and it's not safe (or productive) to share anything personal.
