Rats are extremely affectionate, especially dumbo. They form bonds that are unbreakable and often pass shorty after their companion goes. Brazilian who live in the Amazon for 12 years here. As far as I know it is assumed that Capivaras are shill because they don't compete with any other animals for resources/food. Meaning, their place in the food chaim is one of neutrality, mostly. But the capivara chilling with a crocodile is news to me, this is definitely not common as crocodiles do feed on Capivaras. Onças too, hunt and eat capivaras. Some native tribes also cook capivaras, though that's rare.
