I have a huge pile of Scentsy stuff that I’m not using because a year ago I developed allergic contact dermatitis all around my eyes and an allergist told me no more fragrances. I miss all my scented stuff and I spent so much money on it! Then I found out cats do better without fragrances so I really should just give away my stuff. Great work on your closet it’s looking fabulous👏

Great job! You're making so much progress! Today I did a quick declutter and added 2 pairs of shoes and unopened wrapping paper to one of my donate baskets. (The shoes were uncomfortable and I prefer using gift bags rather than wrapping paper.) I also threw away a pair of shoes and some papers I don't need that were in my bedroom dresser. Tip to anyone reading this: Don't keep uncomfortable shoes! You deserve to have comfy shoes and your feet will thank you when you're older! Hugs. 😊🐦

You can put the fitted sheet, flat sheet, and one pillow case inside the other pilot case and keep the entire sheet set neatly together. I've been doing that in my linen closet and it works... ks

I am so satisfied watching you clean the shelves! BTW - I save Rx and meds that are about to expire and those expired up to a year. Most meds don’t go bad right away, they might just not be as strong. Okay for allergy med, but not heart Rx! You get the idea. Plus if SHTF and the supply chain goes kaput, I like to have a few months worth just in case.

I do 3 set of sheets for each bed, that means I have enough in case of sickness or if we have guests sleeping over. You’ve already spent the money, if you’re not going to use the stuff just get rid of it! You can do it 💪

Stop buying backups for your backups! Keep things to 2. Then as you use the first, open the second and then buy 1 backup. Even having kids there’s no way you’re going through a bottle of anything in one season or a bout of something ( flu, stomach bug etc).

Let me help you with your scented candles and Scentsy --- throw them all out! They are a chemical stew that you should not be inhaling! I have read also that there is lead in candle wicks. Boil your orange rinds in water for a nice smell. (I use to burn candles and realized when I cleaned the adjacent walls they were covered in a black soot. Yuck.)

The one reason I do keep candles on hand is because our power goes out several times a year whether it be because of an accident or storms. So I won't get rid of all.

Hi libby have you thought about labelling the boxes with a visual list of the contents? Also keep the list in a small notebook in your handbag. Shop from the list before you go shopping. I have plastic underbed storage totes. I have a list in my notebook about what's in each box

Also, every state, even cities can vary, so check with your pharmacy about where to turn in old prescriptions so you don't have to pour them into the city water system (bad idea) or throw them in the trash (REALLY bad for animals). Some areas have you turn them in to the local Sheriff's office or other legal offices, others, certain pharmacies.

Take that, cupboard - you are clean and organised and your contents are known 😊 Another fabulous job - I respect your process for what you allow yourself to keep as much as for the ton of items you've let go. Such as keeping the allergy tablets you maybe won't use up (best outcome) however, your child is prone to allergies - the allergy tablets are good to use - keep them. You hope you won't have to use them - but if you need them they're there and they don't have to be purchased - you can shop from your own cupboard store. Also, another delightful game of keep away with the kitty who fully thought you were emptying the box for her 😂

Just food for thought. I heard you say : oh, it's broken, but I can change the chain. Ok, I keep it. My immediate reaction with this answer is : when ? Sure, you can change the chain, but when will you do it ? Will you remember in one week that you have to look for a chain ? Or will the necklace be forgotten somewhere ? Will you have the time or the energy to take care of it ? Or was it the fantasy you who answered the question ? Decluttering is like coming and meeting yourself. You can discover a lot of things about yourself, what matters to you and what don't, what is important enough that you are ready to make efforts for it and what is just a dream. I used to think that I could repair broken things, but the reality is that I don't because I prefer to use my time with more fun stuffs. And it's ok. What was not ok was fooling myself in keeping things I "could" but never would repair. I'm now in peace with the idea I'll never be that girl and that I have other priorities.

I take old prescriptions to the pharmacy drop off, or stir the pills around in used coffee grains before throwing them out. But it's best to take them to an expired drug drop off so they don't pollute groundwater. 😊

You could open an allergy medicine shop! I don't think you need to buy any more this year. Scented things definitely expire because the oils in them will loose their scent at different times, hence the yucky ones. They smelt OK new. Interesting that you kept the 2 citrus scented things. Citrus is a top note so doesn't last long in perfumed things when you apply it to skin, but it does seem to hold it's own in things like wax. I used to use scented candles and oil burners etc. until my poor husband who has lots of sinus issues, begged me to stop as it made him worse. And then I read about how bad they are for cats and I just stopped using them. You cats helping was so funny. They are such inquisitive creatures. The cupboard looked great. Tidy, clean and free of the rubbish. I have a medicine cupboard in need of the same. And my towels and bedding shelves are in dire need. You have inspired me to go and do one of them this evening. Probably the medicine cupboard.

I keep certain medications indefinitely when it comes to pain relief because when I hurt my back, I don’t wanna have to go to the doctor every time when I know what works. They often go way past expiration but they still work for me. I also keep other types of medications just in case, unless I know for a fact I’m never gonna use it.

I love the Pink Stuff, too. You are using way too much product. Use a damp sponge, dip it in the jar to cover the sponge at about 1/4 inch if product on half the sponge, spread it around, use the green side next. When done rinse sponge in warm water and wipe the surface with the sponge side. You wiped with the green side which did not absorb the product. Keep wiping with damp sponge(rinsing sponge if needed) until pink stuff gone. Then wipe with the dry cloth. This way you don't leave a powdery residue on the surface. You use much less product with the same results. Also much easier to wipe off. Love your videos.❤

I'm really proud of how far you've come with the decluttering. It gets easier, as you clear out more and more "stuff". When it comes to any medications and vitamins, I have 2 baskets, one for over the counter (as we call it here)and one for prescription meds. I use a sharpie to mark the boxes or containers as they come in, with a number. 1, 2, etc. After 9, I go to 1 again. So, it's always used as first in, first out. And don't feel bad for having too much of the same type of medication. Most of us do, if it's something we use regularly....

It's obviously used frequently, and keeping it in general 'overflow' it probably isn't accessible enough to suit your family and know what you have.

I subscribed today to your channel. I am an hoarder and have collected tons of stuff even from my childhood. I try to look for people who are so relatable to me and where I can find moral support (and give support back). I see you made so much progress. I am working on this decluttering thing for years. Part of it is anxiety related. My safe space and where my memories are stored. I have to tell myself that all my memories are stored in my nerve system and will never leave me. ❤ It's like peeling an onion. Very slowly till you get the core. Tomorrow will continue my cleanup. It might take a few years but that's ok. No pressure. Big hugs, I know how it feels.

One tip i have that helped me when organizing stuff on shelves is 1. Contain (this i got from The Home Edit), stuff in containers has a less overwhelming appearance, and 2. Label the container with what is for which helped me from turning them all into doomboxes because i already determined in writing what the container is generally a home for! I think itll be fun organizing it all in to your next place. I hope it has as good of storage as this place does! 7 closets?! Lucky.

Take all of your scentsy candle wax melts and you can turn them into a candle by adding your own wick. That way you will not be wasting your money. 🙂

I feel the allergy meds- I’m allergic to the outdoors and dust so basically the indoors as well. Antibiotics should be taken until gone therefore those i do lot keep. Taking a short than normal course of these are bad and contribute to antibiotic resistance. I dispose of Rx or otc meds at the green box at many pharmacies or police stations.
