Honestly at this point I can barely sleep at all and I'll end up having a mental breakdown in the middle of the night because my sleep schedule is messed up and I get in trouble if I stay up past 12, I remember it was the worst like 3 days ago and I was just so anxious and worried, and luckily I have an Internet friend that lives across the world and so I started talking too her about it and she helped even though in the moment it seemed like she wasn't. I always try to move forward but due to pandemic covid it's so hard I lost my job ,my friend betrayed me for i dont know reason my girlfriend left me alone. I remember my religious education teacher was asked about this is high school. What he basically said was: During the day we all wear masks, to seem fine to other people, and those masks can, most of the time, even fool ourselves. However at night, when no one is around, those masks come off, and the shield you had drops. It stuck with me even though he said it more than 3 years ago. EDIT: Of course this isn't the same for everyone, but is just a general statement that is true for a lot of people, including myself.

pineapple curly fries one time I dreamed about my grandpa and woke up at 7:00 am and started crying 🤦♂️😭. Grandma doesn’t visit us that much anymore because my grandpa died and they did so much together. (In fact all three of my grandpas died, I have a pretty weird family my dad has a stepdad 😜). My ❤ breaks to see that there's other people who are experiencing the same exact thing as I do, especially when it's night time. I used to, and sometimes still, prefer to be up at night because it's the most peaceful time & quiet time. Since my father passed away in the early morning hours of New Year's Day - 2020, I tend to get really sad because I used to be up with my Daddy watching TV and talking about random shit. Now, my 20 month & 2 weeks old daughter is going through sleep regression and wants to fight going to sleep until about 4:00am! I end up going to sleep when the birds are chirping and sun starts coming up. Each day is blending into the next making agitation and irritability a commonality in my daily mood. Trying to suppress this, for my daughter's & fiance's sake, makes daily depression amplify and exhaustion at an all time high. To y'all who are suffering at night, it's nice and somewhat comforting to know that we're not alone BUT my heart really does go out to y'all and I hope that you can find a healthy solution so that you don't have to feel this way anymore. I'm going to be 32 years old in July (🤯 getting old sucks BTW 🥺) and would hate to know that there's numerous individuals suffering and alone, especially at night, crying themselves to sleep at times, like myself. Stay strong and remember, you're not alone and there's always someone else who you can reach out to, no matter what time of night or day for that matter, it is! Namaste All! Peace & much love!

Well, as a pianist’s point of view I am always in isolation so for me that is the time to wind down at night and reply to comments on youtube because i am involved in playing all day and into the evening. I am so used to beeing isolated beings that i live that life hahaha!!! I am one of the happiest guys on the planet for sure though I put in long hard hours playing piano. I have to isolate myself so I can stay focused on the piano. If I am not playing piano usually I will reply to other musician’s on youtube and also psych to go for sure because you make awesome content. Great job Amanda for your hard work. A lot of people can’t stand to bee alone but for pianists that is one thing that a person had to expect. You got to bee able to bee alone creating music and making music. Creativity happens with musicians when they are alone and not beeing distracted. Yes. I can bee very social when I have the time and want to bee but most of the time I am so busy playing the piano. I think we have 2 sides of us as piano players. Because the one side is social people but the other side is liking to bee alone as an artist.

Hey I have been watching your content since a very long time. I like it.. I also make videos on subjects similar to this.. I have a take on this matter: 1. Depression & loneliness are completely sperate issues. ( If you are depressed you should visit a doc.. that's the only way you can get help ) 2. If you feel sad during the night time ..it means there is a void within you..which is bothering you. Find that out!! 3. Once you identify that do what you can to fill that void. Stupid Acts are better than regret.

How do you find that void? I’m lonely and sad every night especially if there is nothing to look forward to that evening. Even if I have something fun that coming weekend I still find myself sad. The only times I’m okay is if there’s something exciting going on or at least a fun dinner w my freinds or going out or something. I feel like there is definitely a void. I can’t pin point it. I feel lonely especially at night. I’m restless. I don’t want the day to end. I get anxious and overeat then go to sleep sad. Wake up in anxiety and panic. Then work my way up through the day and I peak after I get done w the gym. Then mood starts to go back down all the way till nighttime where it kinda peaks again. I want to make a change in my life but it’s so hard.

I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety at 12 years old. I was never surprised by it because of my childhood and the fact that mental illness runs in my family. I have a therapist but I don’t see her often and I have a hard time expressing what I feel because I honestly don’t know what it is, I would have moments where my feelings feel so hurt from a simple disagreement that normally shouldn’t effect someone. There would be times where I would have depressing feelings and cry for about 5 minutes and then I would change my attention to something else within a blink of an eye but the feeling of hurt is still there, I just don’t care about them as much as I did 5 minutes ago. I have trouble explaining this to anyone in my family because I’m scared they would think I’m overreacting even with them knowing my history and I don’t really have any close friends to speak to about it bc tbh I don’t really like talking to people at all, not that I’m a mean person I just don’t like talking to people even if it’s my family. I don’t know if anyone else feels that way but I hope I’m not the only one.

Im actually currently suffering from insane night time depression and I thought it'd go away eventually but it has been 3 weeks since it became more of a noticeably reoccurring daily event. Everyday has been a real struggle for me lately. Its getting to the point where Ill eventually fall asleep for only 2-4hours a day during odd times, such as 3pm. I tried waking up the whole day to fix it but no luck, it only made me feel even more exhausted. Its been pretty bad and Im planning to start taking sleeping pills. However, with a genuine concern, I might intentionally overdose with sleeping pills very soon if I have possession of them, especially with how my life has been the past few years. Mental therapist in the past didnt really help me out in the past either. Reason I shared this at such place is I guess im hoping people of the internet can help me out a bit.

Something that helped me with this was a tedtalk about changing negative thoughts. Ask yourself two questions: Are these thoughts useful? How do they behave? I really suggest anyone watches this tedtalk he struggled with depression as well ❤️

Rather then depressing, my tears would suddenly just flow out and I let it be. Some memories would start to pop out and..it just spoke. My mind. I feel like seeing my child reflection and she cried to me, will things change if I were in her place. Because I change myself. That they'll go if she popped out instead of me today. I see it..more vivid everyday since this quarantine. I'll just calm her down. I can do it. I'd promised myself to be someone dependable when others won't be there, cause I know people hate someone who is being too dependent. That I'd help people so they won't feel the same as me because it's horrible. But the thought just kept going, I'll be alone at the end. But I won't disappoint them. I'm scared, but being dependent only give me hope that'll hurt me...so I have to be strong for myself, and for others so they won't feel that I'm a burden. My, sorry for such long comments. You see, it's almost 2 am in my place and my rambling thought will start if I'm not immediately sleeping. I should go to sleep. Night everyone.

I like doing something at night because that time nobody will pester me, but my parents against it and says me to go to sleep _really early_ for me and wake up _early_ as well, that's why I need to go sleep with the sun in the window. My sleep pattern is shifted by my parents force and I can't do anything about it. Thank you so much for that video, I couldn't understand what is wrong with me entire 2 years.
