The league has been driven by star talent since….Magic maybe? and it’s difficult for people to see a team that doesn’t have big stars winning. Miami has found another solution where if you find guys to fill very specific roles and ask them to do nothing else, they become stars, in their role. Can’t have 3/D guys trying to be a playmaker and your big man jacking up 3s. And Miami is elite and at finding the specific guys to fill specific roles they’re elite at. Add that with the best coach in the NBA and Jimmy and you’ve got a team that can beat teams seemingly more talented than they are

Cleveland has more talent on the roster, but the Heat have winners and a great team scheme that matches their talent. Not sure why anyone would pick Philly. Embiid's play drops a notch in the playoffs and everybody else is an inconsistent roleplayer. Unless you want to pretend Harden is still there, but he vanishes in the playoffs. I'd pick Miami over both of them.

@@gtaatmiami Yea my bad but I have to strongly disagree. A choke is them losing to the knicks, hawks, or pacers. In the last 4 years the heat have more playoff wins than both and been to the finals the same as those two teams combined. Those 4 years they didn't make any major moves (unless you consider Lowry a major move). Saying choke is equivalent to saying the heat winning is a fluke which at this point they clearly aren't. I think there is a legit reason not to expect too much from the Heat, though my favorite team. Spolstra keeps culture and the like alive, and makes great in game adjustments. Though those players that became so integral to the rotation last year are mostly gone. The players that are to replace THOSE players this year, haven't shown much (i.e Highsmith, Cain, Jovic, etc). Add the fact Lowery continues to be a shell of his former self and that the cast-off Richardson is back with the team, shows the desperate nature of the team.

Because they have gotten worse since last year, and last year they were very fortunate to get where they got. They aren't making it past Milwaukee or Boston. They are 2 and through at best this year

No one is sleeping on the Heat. They are above average...at best. 4th in the East at the end of the season and prolly eliminated in the 1st round.

My problem with Miami for me is more they can make the finals but they will never win it with this core. I wouldn’t not be suprised if they make ecf maybe the finals. But the Celtics or bucks could actually beat the nuggets. I don’t think the heat have the fire power to win it

You are right to a degree… but you have to remember the Heat are the most effective when healthy and everytime we gone to the finals key players have been injured

Lowry and Love are done, but if Tyler can resist hogging the ball the majority of the time and give other guys a chance to get decent looks and get in a rhythm, they have a good shot. Tyler playing like a hot shot and holding the ball for two thirds of the total possession time each game doesn't help the team. There's a reason they played better team ball in the playoffs, the ball was being shared more, not to mention there was a better defender on the floor in his place. Hot dog needs to put his personal ambitions and grudges aside for the team if they're going to win. I don't want to hate Tyler, but, it is what it is. Dribbling out the clock like you're trying to be Luka and chucking a brick or passing to a shooter with 3 seconds on the clock for a rushed shot attempt isn't going to help.
