Why Galactus VS Knull Isn't Even Close!

Did we forget that Knull was able to simultaneously assault the entire universe at the same time and had ALREADY enslaved the entire Celestial Race before he got to Earth. He literally showed up with an entourage of them just to flex and didn't even try to use them in combat. Knull's power also corrupts Galactus in a future timeline. It seems weird to excuse Galactus' lower showings but then neglect the fact that Surfer fighting Knull was literally him barely avoiding death while running from an exponentially weakened Knull who'd been imprisoned for entire ages. Galactus scales to Odin and Skyfathers and even individual named Celestials (some, but even then, he needed to consume mtiple planets and power up to achieve all his best feats) and at his peak he's superior but Galactus has always suffered from the weaknesses of having a physical form and the fact his power depletes when he uses it if he isn't able to absorb the attacks vomi g at him. I frankly dont see why Knull doesn't just corrupt him. We've seen it before.

Yea but that power scaling didn’t really make sense though. A base Galactus put Odin into the Odin sleep and even if Thor had the Odin force, his own and the power cosmic it shouldn’t have made him more powerful that Galactus especially after eating those five worlds that made him more powerful than ever. It was kinda embarrassing for Galactus to get that powerful and get punked throughout the story. The Dr strange series I believe is how he should be written just a threat to just about everyone like he used to be written and not a “jobber”.

@@Lj-md9ng I feel like the only reason Thor was able to punk him so much during that arc was because of combining the power cosmic with thor's Thodin force. Galactus giving Thor the power cosmic was somehow basically the equivalent of giving someone the maximum security clearance to Fort Knox. You can waltz in and do whatever you like. Thus Thor taking the power cosmic out of Galactus and giving it back whenever he liked throughout the arc. That's what it seemed like to me, but it's all headcanon as its never outright stated. I mean, no way otherwise should even an Odinforce Thor with the power cosmic be CASUALLY and repeatedly punking what was basically a Super Galactus after having eaten those Super Planets. Still I hated that arc as fun as it was to look at. Donny Cates had Thor bully Galactus for 6 goddamn chapters. Shit was sad.

I'd say give it some time, but that's not gonna change it. Galactus has the benefit of about 5 decades of development over Knull. But, there's the first factor and iconic nature of Galactus as a character, meaning no amount of development of any villain that came after (in a non amped mode) is ever going to defeat Galactus because that character holds a special place in Marvel as the ultimate big bad. Prominence in comics history is what's going to keep him on top. Some character might come along that temporarily becomes more powerful or defeats him, but give it a year before some writer writes Galactus as taking his sweet revenge because.....it's Galactus. So basically plot armor due to history.

2 things come to mind: 1) something in real life fighting known as “puncher’s chance”; and 2) Superman. The first is simple - chance. No matter how much better one fighter may be, there is always a chance that the inferior fighter gets lucky. As for the second, Superman’s greatest weakness is not, and has never been, kryptonite. His greatest weakness is restraint. He pretty much always holds back. He never goes all out, especially not right off the bat. And even then, he’s not really pushing his limits. And what is on the line? Kind of like how Goku always fights better when failure means someone will die. Is Galactus in good condition and charged up? Is he prepared for the fight, or is he ambushed? Is he taking it seriously? Is he truly pushing himself? No match is ever as simple as it seems. But, I think you’re correct, Galactus would most likely win.

Galactus is such a great character from his first appearance all the way until now. Knull is such a garbage character. He looks like a generic vampire style bad guy, such a terrible design overall. The history of Galactus is so interesting & entertaining. Knull is simply dull. Big G wipes his cosmic @$$ with that long haired loser.

Imma just say this, it depends on who’s writing them. Because at any given time both of these characters get nerfed to all hell. Technically speaking, Knull should be way stronger. But some writers don’t understand that and have him losing in dumb ways. Same with galactus. They straight up use him to show that someone is strong. But ignore what he should be capable of. Really what you should do it look at their medium to high showings and go from there

TL;DR Best version of Glactus VS Best version of Knull, Glactus wins. As with most of these, it depends on who is writing the story. A well fed Galactus, yeah. Knull is getting squashed on a whim of the Big G. Sword or no sword. But if Galactus has been dieting again, then Knull will rip him apart or absorb him into the hive with a symbiote.
