Ur just the best Dr. Berg. I have been watching ur videos obsessively for a while. I went into a 30 day forced fast. My body couldn't tolerate food at all. I've fatty liver and IBS. I was miserable and looked 12mo pregnant with quadruplets. Now I've lost 22lbs and went into keto diet. It's working wonders for me. I'm B1, iron /ferritin levels drop to a 2-5, ( lossingy hair, nails, dry skin insomnia, diarrhea, constipation, all getting better and the bloat is down with tolerable pain. I've been suffering for many years. D3, magnesium, B vit deficiency. I started finally eating by ur strict recommendations. U've help save my life. Thank u and God bless u and all ur family.

I'm 57, post menopausal. When I lowered my fat intake on my Keto diet...that made all the difference in the world losing weight. For months, nothing happened, as soon as I adjusted my macros I started losing for weight. I believe the "Eat More Fat" crowd or all you want group, are WRONG about that issue. My husband and I exercise 5x a week and struggled with weight loss for many months due to being told to eat high fat. I regret listening to that advice.

Allison Reece I too thought at first eating fat was the way, but started looking at more videos and the principle behind using fat for fuel. Indeed I had and still do plenty of fat to lose. Dr Westman and Dr Berg both talk about decreasing dietary fat to burn body fat.The best is the way I feel on this plan, so good luck to you. We are on the right path. Also watch some of Amy Berger’s videos, Tuit Nutrition. A lot of common sense.

I was a runner ,but consumed carbs and sugars and I'm certain that was my demise. I was basically on the sofa for 7 months and ate like crap being depressed because I felt my life was done at 52. It takes 2 years or more to recover my doctor said. I said to myself that is unacceptable!! The info out there for this is mainly for seniors. My personal tips: Waking up early and having an early breakfast revs up my metabolism. Working out ( mostly cardio and muscle building exercises ) helps too. I don’t drink cold beverages in general. Warm water is better. I use a few spices and condiments daily. Do not drink too much water with food. Eat more protein and healthy fats. Caffeine in moderation is helpful too. Eat freshly cooked food and fewer processed items.

second! thanks Dr Berg!! I watch your videos daily and I wish that you could talk more about real fasting (it takes 3 days for autophagy to kick in , in certain people, and make sick people understand that they destroyed themselves for 20-30 years with narcotic foods like sugar, alcohol, and other white powders(salt, fructose, etc) and people think that fasting is a few hours, no, it must be cyclical, it must last for your whole life, because since the beggining you've been destroying yourself, it cant take a day to repair that, but people are lucky, our body regenerates every 6 months, so we can rebuild it if we never give up for years and years.
@prathimasworld72295 жыл бұрын

@ginayang13315 жыл бұрын
Doesnt autophagy occur with intermittent fasting as well?
@titansolaris5 жыл бұрын
@@ginayang1331 no gina, autophagy is a way for your body to break down elements into glucose/ketones for fuel, to avoid dying, if/when your body doesnt have any stores left ( muscles hold 170g , liver 70g, the rest is fat breakdown from triglicerides to ketone/glucose thanks to glucagon - the inverse of insulin. and this only happens when , after a good amount of time such as 2-3 days , while your body doesnt receive glucose, it gives a signal to your panceratic beta cells that theres no glucose around, so insulin production shuts down and glucagon starts its job by breaking down belly fat (triglicerides) into glucose and ketone bodies to fuel you so that you can survive, and while it does so, if theres not enough glucose from there, it will start autophagy ( destroying old/sick cells and converting them into fuel to survive)
