Yes, I want crunch alternatives too please!

Troy Olson any plank variations can give you stability on your core, if you add a stability ball, bosu or any thing that challenges your stability can be great. As long as you don’t fold your abs you’re fine. Also you can look for low pressure fitness workouts
@goalietraining4 жыл бұрын
Troy Olson awesome Troy, I will put that together explaining why we don’t crunch anymore and then I’ll give you some good functional alternatives that will really help you on the ice. 🙌. Stay tuned... it will take a couple weeks.

I love these videos from in the basement. Makes it feel like you don't have to spend on gym memberships and equipment to get results. Thanks Maria. Great work as always!

Thanks Jason - it is a little tight down there, but since I sold my gym it is the best option I have and it is actually really functional - I love it. And you are right, you can do a lot with just basic gear. Thanks for your kind words.

How many sets and reps should we be doing for the Dumbell single leg squats?
@goalietraining4 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the phase of your periodization cycle as that's what determines the volume and intensity, but if you are fairly new to single leg training start with 2 sets of 6 each with a 3020 tempo. I hope that helps.
@Kratorox4 жыл бұрын
Sounds similar to Mike Boyle, all of which has good points to it. I still squat and deadlift though. Spent a lot of time getting the form solid, and I like being brutally strong outside of hockey too.
@goalietraining4 жыл бұрын
Kratorox yeah, not a new concept in the S&C world at all. If you love the squats, then that is totally cool, but you can get brutally strong with other leg exercises too - single leg squats for example.

Any advice on a dealing with a cam hip?
@goalietraining4 жыл бұрын
Yes, learn what YOUR functional range is and respect that. When goalies think that stretching or forcing their hip into a range where it just won't go will fix the problem, that compounds the issue. Also some manual therapy is worth a try to see if you can gain some range by mobilizing the joint capsule. Have you read this article yet - www.goalietrainingpro.com/goalies/hip-impingement-in-hockey-goaltenders-the-comprehensive-guide/
