I am a Muslima in Germany and there are so many things crossing my mind, when I hear about this decision.... 1. I wonder how they would define this concept of "neutrality" which seems to be so important in their thinking. And let's say they want the employees in public service to be fair in their delivery of service: this depends much more on the ideas a person holds than on their clothing. And this is a problem: because you cannot truly know if your employe holds some extreme ideas. If he/she does so, they can hide their extreme views but still operate on them when not supervised. 2. Here in Germany, we have a long history of teachers being asked to remove their hijab. What always struck me: this is clearly a discrimination of women. I know Muslim male teachers and they don't have to deal with this. This directly contradicts the official lip service to "gender equality" or "empowerment of women". 3. In Germany they keep on lamenting about the lack of skilled workers and professionals. Well, if by the implementation of such stupid rules they want to deprive themselves of an other portion of potential workers, this seems not wise to me (and I am looking now from a simply opportunistic point of view of the employers, be it private or public sector). In my example, I hold a university degree in a technical field, but rather than focusing on what I bring as a set of skills, they want to focus on my hijab? Alhamdulillah, Allah has provided for me and I'm not in need of an employment, but economically speaking it's a waste of the money the state invested in my university education. Too bad for them🧕 And lastly, to my fellow Muslim sisters in Europe: alhamdulillah for everything, we don't despair. It's Allah who is our provider and not these employers. So I pray for each and every sister, may Allah make things easy for you. Never compromise the hijab.

It's really tiring to hear this kind of behavior over and over again as time passes. Living like this is a constant humilliation. They know women may break under the pressure of not being able to be part of society and the final goal is that women submit to them instead of God, leaving the Hijab entirely. They know that if you control women you control society. They are the source of children, the foundation of society. All muslims that live in Europe or America (myself included I was born in South America) should go and live in more humane countries (parts of Africa ,Asia and maybe some other ones) Let the secular people live alone with their technology, dogs and cats without being able to manage relationships or kids and let them erase themselves. This is already happening. Then these countries cry because of their low birth rates and start begging inmigrants to go and produce for them. This too is already happening. We should let them with their inhumane practices and move on. The west it's not worth it. If you can't go to another country at least protect yourself and don't try to be part of their society. It's a trap. Try to form your own educational places and if that's impossible too don't dispair and keep practicing the religion, keep doing Salah, keep doing what God told us to do. Don't dispair.

I wouldn't blame the Bible, because they are not following it, except when it suits their own interests, playing pick and choose. And ironically, the ones who are the loudest proclaimers and "defenders" of their "Christian faith and Christ" are the ones who are the most diabolically opposed to the character of Christ or of a good, decent Christian behavior - in other words, the ones who only serve their own sick selfish interests and warped and demented ideas and perceptions, or literally serve Satan with their evil behavior. I have met a very few exceptionally good Christians, and they never said a single word about their faith or in an attempt to preach it to me, yet their amazing character spoke volumes about their faith and faithfulness in a way which can never be expressed with empty words - they LIVED their faith. On the other hand, the clowns who preached the most were also usually the worst, and their character would push any honest person away. They were rude, arrogant, condenscending, insultive, even physically assaultive. Their character would make Jesus sick to his stomach, especially considering they "preached in his name".

It's more of a French thing than continental European, the French strand of secularism is uniquely strict and invasive, bordering on state atheism (it was also adopted as a model for Turkish secularism by Atatürk by the way, in case you were wondering why they're so weird). Other European countries adopt bits and pieces to discriminate against Muslims, but it's generally not their thing. In general, the EU is an institution that exists to enforce and propagate Western hegemony and neoliberal capitalism, at home and abroad (it's essentially economic NATO). As such, a permanent underclass is required to threaten the working class into submission, even better when said underclass is of foreign extraction and/or visibly different (to best divide the oppressed class and provode easy scapegoats for their condition). Headscarf-wearing Muslim women and black Africans fit the role perfectly, just as Jews did in centuries past (they're no longer as easy to spot, and they're too few in number to make for effective scapegoats).

Yes, the statement could be interpreted as suggesting a potential bias or imbalance in favor of a secular look, while limiting the expression of religious perspectives in the public sphere. Let's break down the potential process: 1. **Implicit Bias:** There might be an implicit bias in public institutions or policies that unintentionally favor secular perspectives over religious ones. 2. **Legislation and Policies:** Laws and policies that seem neutral on the surface may disproportionately impact religious expressions. For example, if a country enforces strict dress codes that inadvertently target religious attire, it could be seen as favoring a secular look. 3. **Public Spaces and Symbols:** Decision-making related to public symbols and spaces may lean towards secularism. For instance, if a government decides to remove religious symbols from public spaces while allowing secular symbols, it might be perceived as favoring a secular look. 4. **Education Curriculum:** The design of educational curricula may unintentionally marginalize religious perspectives. If certain religious beliefs are excluded or downplayed in textbooks, it can be seen as giving preference to a secular worldview. 5. **Media Representation:** Media portrayal can contribute to bias. If the media predominantly represents secular perspectives while underrepresenting or misrepresenting religious viewpoints, it could reinforce a perception of favoritism. 6. **Discrimination Concerns:** Individuals adhering to religious beliefs might feel marginalized or discriminated against if policies or practices systematically favor secularism. This can lead to concerns about fairness and equal representation. It's essential to note that achieving a truly neutral and inclusive public sphere is a complex challenge, and unintentional biases can emerge in various ways. Striking a balance that respects both secular and religious perspectives requires careful consideration and ongoing dialogue.

Don't get that 🤔
@s.elh.328111 ай бұрын
Well observed. This is what I always say, you could be an extremist of any kind (be it Muslim or Zionist, or some kind of extreme environmentalist), dress "normally" and work in public service. But I suspect, at the core of such decisions (like banning "religious clothing" , i.e. die facto Hijab bans) is a deep prejudice towards Muslims. It goes like this: Hijab means (most likely) observing Muslima, and observing Muslima means somebody who will discriminate in their work against others or somehow undermine the state. This assumption of Muslims is very ugly. And as they cannot put their mistrust towards Muslims in such clear language in their legislation they beat around the bush with this fixation on clothing.

As far as I’m aware, nowhere are Christians commanded to wear a cross in public, and furthermore it’s a purely symbolic icon that doesn’t have any particular ethical bearing on one’s life. Assalam Alaykum and Jzakallah khayran for a great analysis and defence of headscarves and hijabs. I'm just shocked how bigoted the EU is becoming and the speed at which it's happening given that other groups with lots of letters in their abbreviation are being given the spotlight and accommodated readily. I wonder what would happen if all hijabis wear the headgear of nuns???

Those who say, if you don’t like it here get out then. To that I say America must get their military bases out of all those countries they are in, that the people want them to leave

@@Ismail-014 To give protection, that's why US is there. Saudi govt itself invited US to be there. So do almost in any other Muslim countries. Is it US problem that Muslim countries cant protect themselves.

The EU is islamophobia and many people are realising this. Such bias from a hypocritical institution. Unacceptable. Thank you Blogging Theology.

My Muslim brothers will laugh when they hear non-Muslims talking about racism, justice, morals and other issues. Islam is a complete religion and guides us on how to live in this world and the afterlife and my brother has felt that since he converted to Islam, right? May Allah always protect us and guard our faith, my brother

THIS verse explains this situation, 2:120. And never will the Jews and the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the guidance of Allāh is the [only] guidance." If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allāh no protector or helper.

Asalamuliakum , it is nice you discussing and bring light to it. Brother Paul i saw you showing emotion getting angry 1st time. It is joke for me to expect other than what is being made rule, as i SEE how world is run and who control it. And yes there are decent folks in each community and every community irrespective of faith and location. Though percentage may vary. But the reigns remain in clutches of bigots and lust loving and in full control of hands of such people and "ALL" that leads to it. Again irrespective of geographical location or we may say European union included and of course vast non European communities i hope you know what i mean. Allah knows and watches everything even a thought that crosses mind, we need to have deep faith and patience it is the call of the hour. " Hasbun-Allahu ve Naimal-vekeel".
