I loved my Talaria so much I kept it once i got my Ultra Bee. Reality was I didnt touch my Talaria once i had a taste of the Ultra, especially after 21/18's and some cockpit mods. The weight doesnt bother me as much as I would have thought, and i can still ghost my buddies in the wood gas or electric. I just sold my Talaria to my best friend for $2,500 who is totally vibing on it. Makes my heart happy knowing he enjoys it as much as I once did. I think people get to caught up in marketing, or which is the best. Which is pointless. The best bike is the one you can ride right now. Ride what you enjoy, stay shreddy, and spread the love! P.S. Great video as always!

Your a good rider dude. Maintaining exactly the right balance to not wheelie, while maintaining minimal rear tire spin on a short wheelbase bike is not easy. I have basically the same bike, except that i use a fox airshock on the back, and I am running a K.O. moto motor. And I am only running 18kw which I find is really powerful. Oh, and I use the K.O. extended swingarm.

I can understand why you'd build a custom Sur Ron from scratch. It gives you the opportunity to build what YOU want. The early motorcyclist used to get what they called "basket cases" and they would build them in their living rooms or tool sheds. It gives you an intimate relationship with your bike that no one riding a production bike will ever understand. It's as pure and honest as one can get. Great job guys!

There is a video i would love to see you guys make. Your opinion on what you would personally each do with a $5000, $10,000, and $15000 budget? I agree with your philosophy of light weight over the Ultra Bee or Varg for me personally; however i am torn on which platform to go with. Leaning towards a Sting R or ERidePro, but then you guys go with a Surron for this build. How big of a deal is the loudness of the belt drive over gearbox? You guys always bring it up but never say if it is a dealbreaker if you had to choose only one bike. Is it very easy to build from the ground up, because i imagine it isnt easy finding a cheap frame?

Glad you explained your choices and the reasons why you chose LightBee frame. Because as you mentionned Ultrabee was also an option (which I'm considering), and good point: a stark varg will at the end be cheaper. Regarding the 50lbs difference between LB and UB, would be curious knowing where the difference comes from: frame, additional battery size, bigger fork?
@Talariaboys7 ай бұрын
Nearly every single part on an ultra-bee is heavier than a lightbee, the wheels, tires, forks, shock, frame, battery, brakes, bars, stem, chain, sprocket. It's all heavier and adds up
@Etienne857 ай бұрын
@@Talariaboys Yeah, it appears that the initial frame design and weight also influence other components. A heavier frame implies larger wheels, forks/shocks to support it, leading to increased weight and the need for larger brakes/rotors, chains, sprockets, and so forth...

In my opinion the double track you were riding is where a bigger more powerful bike excels. I bought a talaria for how light and agile it is, but those trails i would absolutely choose the 4 stroke. A varg would be perfect too.
@Talariaboys7 ай бұрын
That's fine, but I will say we went up the entire climb the other day and we passed two full sized bikes that were ripping and beat them to the top, they stopped at the top and were pretty surprised. You absolutely don't need more power either on those trails we were running less than half of what this bike can run power wise.
@jacobmiller66647 ай бұрын
@Talariaboys oh yeah, you definitely don't need it, but it sure is fun to have it :) but skill will beat power, and you guys look to be good riders. For me I'm just much more comfortable on regular dirtbikes, the added weight kinda pulls you over rocky rough stuff like you were on. I only got the talaria not too long ago and I'm still searching for the foot brake on descents, but you guys helped nudge me to get one. Keep making the videos, I like em a lot, plus you seem like good family men, not the goons in other ebike videos.
