Hi Madison, I love all of your videos, but this one actually brought me to tears, because what you said about if your soul doesn't have a place to rest, then living a slow and simple life becomes just another thing to do. That really hit a deep chord in my heart, because it's so true. To the outside world, I guess I live a very boring life..... but I live in a small house on 2 acres of wooded property, and I enjoy everything about it... especially watching all the wildlife, and the way they all interact with each other, as well as with the earth.... and it's a beautiful experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. Thank you for all your beautiful videos. 😊❤

A while back while reading up on decluttering I read someone say "be ruthless" when throwing stuff away and I keep that in mind. It helps me not keep onto things due to feeling bad or whatever it is that may make me want to keep something I will never use. I recently did what I think is a big purge and it feels AMAZING. Having less junk to clean around. I hope you continue on with the declutter process, it's worth it. I am still working on it but am currently better than ever at just getting rid of junk.

🙂 I've lived in the same home for 21 years (yayyyy no more mortgage!). About 15 years ago I removed about 30-40 % of just "stuff" from our house, I looked through Scandinavian Architectural and Design magazines online and went for it ! No regrets and the time I save on cleaning all that unnecessary stuff thats gone is spent on having fun or sometimes a day per week of doing absolutely nothing but relaxing. A few times when new people/friends have been in the house they've asked did we just move in and or how do we keep the house so clean? It's just less stuff ! When you fully & genuinely adopt the Minimalist lifestyle its not always something you're able to see but you FEEL it too. Quality over quantity and the TIME you'll get back to yourself is priceless! Take care 🙂

As someone who suffers with ADHD, it’s incredibly vital to have moments in our natural world every single day to slow. It’s a natural mind balancer for mental health. I loved your light self care exercise routine and how you’re working your own rhythm. I just got back from a camping trip in the woods. It was a total recharge, because these California summer days present more sun hours on us. Our bodies might seek a darker environment or a more gentle flow. Beautiful video...like the others it’s a gentle vacation for your brain. Nature is always evolving and never boring.

Spending a day at home puttering around with my kids, chores, making food, totally stresses me out. When I was younger/before I had kids, cleaning, tidying, de-cluttering used to help me feel more regulated and less stressed, more internally organized. Now it has the opposite effect. That being said, I agree with and share the experience that busying ourselves can distract from what is important. Glad you found some balance and increased content in your life :-) And this is a great reminder that lives do not need to be stressful and chaotic

Hey❤️ I may not know you personally however I care about you deeply because I know how much you mean to Jesus Christ The King of ALL CREATION . I want to tell you that Jesus Christ loves you so much, he died for our sins so that whoever believes in him wouldn’t have to perish in hell but instead have eternal life in heaven. You need to understand that HEAVEN and HELL are 1000% REAL they aren’t imaginary , and hell is a horrible place I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. God doesn’t want you to end up there he wants you in heaven and so he is giving you a chance to accept the sacrifice of his son Jesus Christ and be saved. Day by Day the world is falling apart because we are literally living in the last days of Earth there is no doubt or debate about it, Jesus Christ is coming faster then you think to bring judgement to the world and to destroy it. This really is URGENT, it’s NOT A JOKE ,Tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone, you can be alive one minute and gone the next, please take this opportunity to be on the side of Mercy confess your sins and wicked ways to Jesus , sincerely REPENT/turn away from them, ask for his forgiveness, and be baptized at a real bible believing church- ask him to enter your heart and to be your Lord and Savior before it is too late , truly believe in him and he WILL do it because it is his promise. It’s important that you seek the righteous and Holy path of the Most high God so that you may inherit eternal life and be spared of Hell fire. You can begin a new life in Christ and have a genuine relationship with him, please repent. Jesus changed my life and he will change yours too🥰, He is coming NOW! not SOON- when you least expect it!, therefore repent and make sure you are prepared. May the Lord be with you eternally💕🙏🏾

This video really blessed me. I began living a slower life when I went on disability about 15 years ago. In the 80's & 90's "multi-tasking" was the name of the game. I was interested to hear a report recently that now researchers are discovering that multi-tasking actually damages the body and more mistakes are made in the work. I function best when I concentrate on one task at a time and the mega-multi-tasking job I was doing literally caused me to have a breakdown. I was under a Dr's care and, after 6 months, he gave permission to work 1/2 days at my former job but just hearing the hustle and bustle around me caused the same negative impact. I then worked part-time but it was the same multi-tasking culture. My Dr. finally said, "It's time to look into disability." I initially freaked out but now I see it has allowed me to slow down to my energy level. I'm noticing via what I read online and hear on the radio that things have turned around and self-care and avoiding multi-tasking is being encouraged. For me, money is tight but that helps me choose what is really necessary and not merely "wanted." Re: plants - growing and tending to plants has not been one of my interests and I'm not very good at it but lately I've noticed a desire within myself to avail my self of learning, trying, if I fail...learn from it and try again. God bless you and your family!

SonshineLady I really appreciate your story. I also grew up constantly hearing "multi-tasking" pushed and expected, and grew up in a home with an extreme performance emphasis with music, homeschooling (in the 80s and 90s when it wasn't as well-known), endless diets and 4-hour exercise regimens, plus always trying to be "doing" something while I was doing something else. Never sit and be seen sitting still and never be seen resting or playing idly. Now after many years of adult life and burnout and illnesses, I have been stripping away all the multitasking. I even eat just to eat now, sometimes I'm not reading or studying or working while I eat, just learning to enjoy whatever food it is without condemnation. You shared your story and I thank you, maybe mine will warm your heart too. Hugs!

I hardly ever comment on KZbin videos, but this video convicted me in ways where I’m still recovering from a crying episode! 😂 I am currently pregnant & reading what you wrote throughout the video just made my jaw drop. This is my hearts desire!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you!!!! It has pointed me back to clarity of what kind of life I’m wanting with my husband and our baby.. and the life I seem to have always run away from. Gah! I could just hug you!!!! Thank you!! Monica ❤️

I feel afraid of the outdoors now- Mainly the bugs and dirt etc. I never used to care about any of that when I was a child. Walking barefoot outside all the time. Playing. Climbing trees. Imagination free as a bird. Life has become so chaotic and even the mundane feels like stress with a laundry list of “to-dos”. I am praying God helps me come back to a place of rest. Just like when I was a child. I have an almost two year old now. I want for her similar memories when I was growing up. I don’t get her outside enough.

I've been slowly learning to leave the chaos and stress behind... We get so caught up in it, being overworked and stressed becomes almost second nature. As always, another great video. And, can we talk about your Amazon store front, for a minute? It's so curated.... definitely checking it out, before our next school year...

I'm slowly learning the same thing! And THANK YOU! I spent a lot of time putting that together with things that have added a lot of value to our home/family in hopes it will do the same for others and not just be another person telling you to buy more stuff. Not sure if there's a right way to do it, but thank you for noticing! I'll keep adding and editing as time goes on. ✨

What a peace coming over me! I just saw this, my first discovering it! My life is crazy paced. I have looked at getting older as a crime to slow down! Like it’s a sign of aging!! (I’m 73)! No napping, rushing around, constantly trying to catch up! I have a lot to learn!! Praise Yah! Be blessed.

Ooh, and my slow approach on life is to walk barefoot among my plants aka tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and just cleaning out the weeds with no gloves because I love to feel the soil. Also, I usually sing when I do this, like songs I make up on the spot, something like "Oh you tomato you, so green and beautiful, how are you?" 😂 I just love it🌞

Madi, I never comment on videos, but I want you to know that your sweet soul has changed my life. I have been working on minimalism and slow living for a few years now, but your videos have catapulted me into this journey. Your videos are seriously works of art. It's amazing to see your footage and it's so slow and purposeful. I know there's no way you have a whole team of people capturing these shots. It's just you! Your passion comes across so easily. I love your honesty, clarity, and desire to share. Thank you for being such a gem.

Hi Madison, this video speaks to my heart so much! I myself reached that point, too, where I felt like I got lost in the clutter and business of live. I got so much relief and happiness back from just simplifying my life and my kids lives. Living in the present and actually taking time for my family and the things I love to do is something that I try to remind myself of, and practice everyday. It is so essential for my soul to take a step back and go about things at a slower pace, wherever it's possible. Thank you for sharing such valuable content and for being you! ♥

I don't think I've ever seen a 50s retro bathroom paired with a modern subway tiled kitchen until now. In a way they do meet at a crossroads because they're actually original vintage and vintage style resurrected. Pretty cool.

You are my favorite person ever. This video popped up just when I needed it. The Lord needed me to see it. I live 25 acres 3 sides of my home is wooded with a several acres of hay field far in front. I cut alot of grass, which I love doing. Every evening the deer pass thru the front yard. I love to wait for them to feed in the fields. In the back is where I spend my mornings. With about 25 acres of wooded area on 3 sides. I have seen so many small and large animals and critters. I think they show off for me. And over abundance of birds and butterflies. Yet for some reason I have let the stress of the world gnaw at me. You have encouraged me to just relax and enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds me. BLESS YOU. GOG IS GREAT!!!!!
