Thank you Lissa, for the information you relay. I recent purchased the vegan bundles, and was so impressed by your soups, I brought several books. I have decided to go fully raw, and appreciate the time and effort of uploading. Many thanks, and blessings to you.

Great video. I am happy to hear veggies so affirmed because I love my big salads. I find fruits very supportive too, a pleasure to eat and they help get me my ration of daily calories. One big smoothie and I'm already almost halfway there. I gotta say, bananas are sacred.

Even though I am no longer vegan anymore because of health reasons, I like the fact that you are not eating all fruit. You are a vegetable person like me. That’s probably the reason why you don’t look emaciated.

I strive to eat enough. My main goals are eating adequate calories and eating from a very wide range of choices, which includes plenty of vegetables, greens, sprouts, etc and of course fruit. I do eat quite a bit of fruit, but I also equally value vegetables and do eat more of them than the average raw foodie.

@@RawFoodRomance it’s easy to get lost in the fruit only or greens is not our food or we only eat greens and sprouts and wheatgrass . It’s hard to know what is the right way to do this thing! Your approach feels healthy. Happy to see you still doing your thing and not sticking to 1 purity extreme
@RawFoodRomance Жыл бұрын
@@NextLevelFitness7 this means so much to me!!! Thank you!!! I just love all raw plant foods and I think they all have a special role to play! I’ve noticed that many old theories and dogma die hard and people are fearful to change their message in face of new science (like greens are good and the microbiome needs variety, etc) people also have a hard time releasing extremes because it would mean “they were wrong” and some can’t handle that realization so they stick headstrong to something that sadly can damage people not just physically and nutritionally but also mentally which is something many don’t realize. I’m so glad you resonate with my balanced approach. Remember, when people use absolute and fantastical guarantee statements, it’s a red flag. Confident people can lead even very discerning people down a wrong road if they believe it enough. Much love to you and wishing you continued balance! 🥰

refreshing! sometimes I also feel like I'm the only one who is passionate about greens & veggies. how do you time your fruit snacks inbetween salads & nice cream after a fat based dressing for digestion? I'm trying to figure it all out but I'm struggling to eat the large volumes, plus water inbetween meals (water in morning is fine for me) but the 30mins of no water before or after a meal, leaves me with little room to hydrate, maybe ebcause my sleeping isnt good, I'm also constipated af & gassy as, been following you on insta for maybe 4/5 years now & just remembered your youtube, so grateful, I will be watching your gassy playlist and transitioning playlist. any advice for transit times? all the food combining & times inbetween can be overwhelming sometimes, I hope my gut eases soon, much love to you & nate
@RawFoodRomance Жыл бұрын
Awww thank you for all the love!!! yeah I really don’t follow much of the food combining theories personally. The overwhelm isn’t worth it! I usually do 1L water first thing, then a couple pieces of fruit, then workout and more water, then fruit smoothie for actual breakfast. I’ll sip on water between Brady and lunch and then it’s a massive hydrating low fat salad. Then I’ll drink more water between lunch and dinner and dinner is usually another big salad or raw creation with some added fats. If we want nice cream after, we do. No issues there digestively for us. Hope that helps! And thank you again for the ongoing love, appreciation n support!

i was a raw vegan years ago when I was in high school, and I only ate thousands of calories of fruit. if I were to do this lifestyle again, I agree with you that I would take a balanced approach with all food groups. I think there is a lot of unfortunate fear mongering in the raw community surrounding science and mainstream advice. I think many dietetic associations promote a diet which could be done raw if you just replace things with raw alternatives (nutritionally speaking). At my everyday person's primary care's office in rural Massachusetts, they don't even have a regular food pyramid or myplate on the wall, they have a plant-based food pyramid and that is their recommendation to people. And the evidence based omnivorous recommendations aren't even far off to what many vegans eat already anyway, just replace with vegan substitute.
@RawFoodRomance Жыл бұрын
Plant based for the win!!!! And yeah the all fruit thing is very theoretical and it’s a nice idea, makes sense on some level, but we have trillions of bacteria in or guts (and even our body cells) that need more than just fruit!

Thank you. I choose variety and abundance and I do not do detoxes, cleanses, fasts, juicing etc. I eat whole foods and don’t push my body with extreme behaviours with food. My body detoxes 24/7 I don’t need to force it into a “cleanse” all I need to do is support it nutritionally and calorically 😍
@nikkiloveslife48414 ай бұрын
@@RawFoodRomance You are absolutely right. I don’t understand why people who are already on a raw vegan diet doing all these detoxes, fasts, enemas, and such, and that’s the reason why we lost a lot of people. It’s about balance. I am not vegan, but I love eating salads with some animal protein. I am prediabetic, so my doctor told me to incorporate animal products to save my life.
@RawFoodRomance4 ай бұрын
I know many raw vegan people who reversed diabetes without animal products. At Mastering Diabetes they help people do this with a high carb/low fat diet and vegan too. I personally had all the symptoms of pre-diabetes but they all disappeared after going raw. But that’s besides the main point… in the raw community, it’s not the raw food that’s the issue, it’s the BEHAVIOURS that people have with raw food (and the detox obsession) that can lead people down a dangerous path. Many people with disordered patterns surrounding food are attracted to a raw diet because it’s a way they can justify their choices. The more restrictive one gets, the more they are praised for their “discipline” and it can become a competition (between others or just themselves) to see how long one can go on a fast or how “pure” they can become - without realizing that our bodies naturally detox 24/7 if we support it nutritionally - and we do not need to force it into detox and we don’t need to have all these intense detox symptoms (most of which are actually symptoms of under eating and/or deficiencies!) but people are again praised for how many detox symptoms they have and if they feel crappy, they are encouraged to keep pushing through and keep restricting more and more in the name of “healing” - and then classically these people end up back on other foods etc and then speak ill of a raw or vegan diet when clearly it wasn’t veganism (which isn’t a “diet”, it’s an ethical stand against animal use which encompassed other animal use like leather, wool, honey, testing on animals etc, it’s just that diet is a big part of the choice to not use animals) or raw food that was the problem to begin with. That’s why it’s behavioural and stems from deep trauma, or other causes that need to be explored in the mental health space by a professional. Also on a side note: people with digestive issues getting restrictive with variety and get on very minimalistic style raw diets can atrophy their guts to the point that almost nothing feels good to digest… it’s definitely not a road I would go down and I focused on as much variety as I can get in, which is not the norm in the raw food community. People tell me all the time I shouldn’t combine this and that and I eat too many ingredients etc but I am healthier than ever and my gut microbiome scores are higher than anyone I know who has had the same testing done. Sorry for the long winded response, I’m very passionate about this subject because I have spoken either hundreds of people if not thousands, most of whom have been damaged by detox protocols and are worse off. I strive to be an example of a healthy raw vegan to he best of my ability and to show that it doesn’t have to be restrictive and regimented. I’m here to help people add MORE raw foods to their lives (regardless if they are vegan or not), to have fun with their food, and to empower people to make more compassionate choices. 🥰🥰🥰 thank you for being here and sharing as well!

@@RawFoodRomance Me personally, I don’t do well eating high carb and low fat. I eat a lot of salads with some animal products because that’s what personally helps me. When I was vegan, I did mostly raw and most of the raw food was fruit based. I was listening to all these people telling me that fruit is God, and vegetables are low vibration foods. When I ate mostly fruitarian, yes I may have energy and all that, but I wind up crashing and constantly hungry. And yes, I ate enough. A fruit based diet is not for me. To me, eating almost fruitarian personally caused me my prediabetes. And then you have vegans being mean and nasty to ex-vegans like myself. I am no longer vegan because of health reasons, but I do eat mostly plant based with some animal products, and it balances me out. I know all about Mastering Diabetes, but I don’t agree with some of the things that they are saying but to each it’s own. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me, and I am so happy that you didn’t bash me because I am an ex vegan. That’s why I subscribed to you.

I’m glad! I really hope people can find a more balanced and healthful way to eat raw and vegan or plant based. I never did all fruit or super high fruit because when I was in Canada for the first 5 years, it was super expensive in my area for tropical fruit and most was not really ripe. I did eat fruit and still do of course because I believe it’s a very important part of a raw diet BUT it’s not God and it’s not the cure-all. There are so many other things to enjoy!! I just really love salads and savory so I eat a lot of that as well. Balance. After I began learning more about the gut microbiome too in 2020/2021 I started incorporating even more variety into my raw vegan diet which further enhanced my health. So I never experienced the high fruit ways and never will. I hear far too many stories like yours that reinforce my views of a balanced high variety raw diet. Fruit is great but it’s only one part of the whole experience. Happy you subscribed and I hope you enjoy my content! 🩷

I do try to have greens/ vegetables with every meal whether it be a green smoothie or a salad because if you’re trying to get 1-2 pounds of greens in, then you kinda have to. If you don’t, then your dinner salad of 1-2 pounds of greens would be ginormous and nearly impossible (for me) to finish.
