You were very different people and wished to do different things in life, that's it. I am italian and my husband is japanese we waited around two years for marriage and actually get along REALLY well. I have never met another person who thinks so much like me even back in my home country. Not a matter of country, more like a matter of incompatibility which can happen anywhere in the world.

So, you found a random good-looking girl and married her without getting to know her first, and only afterward you started to figuring out who she is and realized that you are not good for each other. It's sad that you had to go thought that, but now it will stay with you as an important life lesson. Don't marry random people and don't trust sudden love. An important decision that changes your whole life is something you can't rush, or it ends up like this. Nowadays, it's really hard to have a long-lasting married life. People gets divorced more and more. They give up too fast. I actually got triggered by you a little, and wrote a wall of text that I just deleted, since who cares anyway. Just use the experience you got with her to work on some self-improvement. You won't fix other people, but you can fix yourself. For relationship, you don't only need a good wife. You also need to be a good husband. If just one of the two of you grew up and become a responsible partner, then it still wouldn't work. You need two responsible people to have a long-lasting relationship.

So this is your personal opinion and personality that didn't work out in the relationship. Why your relationship failed has nothing to do with the other person, it was your own expectations that you didn't think through that failed your relationship. You are not ready for a relationship period in my opinion. You need to do some work on yourself to figure out your needs and what you want. All of these expectations are only what you personally expect. For me personally getting divorced because of food is a bit troublesome as you have a very limited emotional intelligence to deal with these issues. It seems like you rely on other things in life to make you happy, which is a bit troublesome.
@marikita5252 жыл бұрын
Being unfaithful in a relationship is the worst,even if it is quite understandable in a longterm relationship e.g..This behaviour is quite bad for your karma. You should stay single or being with people who are alike. I feel deeply sorry for your former wife and I think that she did not deserve it.These kind of things destroy other people.There are even people who hurt themselves or commit suicide because of this. One must be more careful with other peoples feelings.Have you ever apologized to her? Judging women only by their looks,using them and talking about them in a bad manner afterwards?Sry,this is more than awful.Think about yourself getting older and/or uglier.Or someone only judging you on your current job and not as a whole person... What do your mother and sister think about your behaviour towards women?

Most of the things you hated was on yourself. Basing living in Japan on anime and movies is like assuming I know Britain and British people via Mr Bean. To not hear English is your own job by doing calls with friends and family and watch entertainment in your first language. The jokes not landing... you need to have enough sense to know your audience when you use jokes. If a type of joke doesn't land with a person you adapt and if they don't find it funny you save those jokes to those where it does land. Being married in a foreign language with a spouse of a foreign culture becomes your own job to make sure you fulfill your own needs that handles homesickness by cooking the foods you miss or listen to the comedy you miss, call the people you miss, etc. Sarcasm doesn't translate so when you take the words literally it gets hurtful. I have a sarcastic sense of humor too but again, know your audience. You live and you learn but know your misery on the most part was on yourself.

The longer you are together the more nostalgic that person becomes to you. After 10 years of marriage I exercised my demons of wanting sexual experiences with other women not that I did anything but the strong urge that us men deal with dissipated. Don't rush things. Learn from this one bad experience what issues you need and what issues you can compromise on...that gal may be someone you already know or someone you may meet any day. If you love each other and can communicate when issues arise you will both find a satisfying relationship...in the meantime, enjoy your single life, learn from your mistakes and lead the best life you can...

I don’t know you but based on this video, you two were not compatible and you clearly married her for the wrong reasons. You did not like anything about her as a person, the only positives were “having a wife” and “not being lonely”. Boy, then any girl will do, hell even a roommate or a pet.

Realising you don't like the food, being homesick, not coping with a foreign language or cultural greetings, music in shops seems like stuff you can probably realise living in a country alone before you get married. Did you get married on your second week in Japan or something? -.-

This is truly sad. It seems like he really didn’t know this girl, life style or culture before getting married. Daniel, I sorry to say…. You seem such a narcissist…… who really has no idea where happiness actually is. I do know that wanting your cake snd eating it….. isn’t conducive to either a good relationship or marriage. It’s about give a take….. I’d be interested to hear exactly what chihiro’s impression on what it was like to be married to you…. Because it’s sad to say that you seem complete unable to grasp how anyone except yourself feels.

Jan 6th will be the 20th anniversary with my Japanese wife. In hindsight, most of the issues we ever had were mostly because we were very immature. I have to assume this is your case as well. Some of these things can end a relationship--even a full blown marriage. The good thing is it's easy to marry and divorce in Japan. The bad thing is that it's easy to marry and divorce in Japan. Food in Japan has to grow on your and it certainly has for me. Living in Italy my wife and I became very homesick for Japanese food--even the simplest things like saba with rice and miso soup. Japanese women can also be overbearing at times because they expect the highest standards from you. I don't mean they expect you to be rich, but they expect you to be driven and have things to show for your work. Also, Japanese women do not like weak or feminine men. I know that is generalizing, but you have to consider what Japanese women want, and for the most part they are looking for a secure man who knows what he wants and will put his foot down when things get too emotional on her end. Come to think of it, isn't that was all women want all over the globe? To think deeper even, Japanese women are not really that different from other women around the world. Sure they may be more traditional, and those women who reject traditionalism end up coming back to tradition anyhow, and those who do not are miserable. end of rant.

Ok, you'll probably not read this comment but i feel like telling this to you: I understand that life can become a nightmare when we constantly find ourselves "Alone", in different moments, with those we are suppose to love and be loved by. It sucks to clash with unreasonable logic, whether It being at work or at home. But you mate are responsable for that. You my friend chose your wife, you chose a controlling girl who wouldn't fall in love with you being a British guy who sometimes, or often, eats different then her, and has his own passion and ways to find newances in life. You found yourself in the position to say YES to someone without knowing her first... So with that in mind, who Is to blame? I do not want to bash you or tackle your self esteem, but the fact that you cheated on her makes you weak in my eyes, cause instead of telling her the truth, little by little, about what you didn't like about her behaviour, about maybe your feelings of not being appreciated or loved for Who you are, you chose to dig those feelings down a hole hoping never to realize that cracks will be created in the relationship. I think you made a good choice to divorce. I hope only good things for you, since you seem a good guy.

Yes, I think the Japanese have this control freak tendency. If I ever marry a Japanese we will definitely need a long talk about expectations.

Both of you could have compromised. One day or two per week with western meals. Too bad you both had communication issues. Also, that feeling of walking on eggshells in a relationship/marriage always leads to doom. I dated a well known youtuber and had issues with her talking about me, spewing negative drama when in reality it was a made up lie. I got tired of her lack of respect really fast. Another thing, your cheating on your ex wife is harsh. Your ex probably knew more than she let on.

You know how many people in the world had that same dream? They always think Japan is exactly or pretty close to what they watch in anime. I lived in Japan for 2 years (military) in Okinawa, but I went to the mainland many times. I never watched anime, never got into afterward either. But from what I did watch… no. It’s nothing like the cartoons… idk why people really think it is. The work culture is terrible in Japan. People there are super depressed. They’re really respectful people, but most of them are just a box of rocks. Cookie cutter. That’s not me being racist. I’m not racist by any means. They’re just so… plain. Except for the people in Okinawa. Okinawa is exceptional! The people there are so nice and friendly. They don’t even consider themselves Japanese. Most people in mainland Japan never go to Okinawa because “there’s no money there.” It’s bad. Honestly, if you want a really awesome foreign wife, assuming you’re not from the country, philipinas are amazing women. They’re so sweet and kind. And attractive imo. And they love foreigners. The country is pretty under developed, but it’s still nicer than other places if you enjoy a simple life. Either way, the whole peaceful esthetic people relate to Japanese culture is completely wrong. Go to Japan and find out. If you wanna experience the REAL Japan, go to the suburbs. Stay away from the cities.

British really struggle with other cultures because of the sarcasm. Personally, I love British wit. I moved to Brazil and have had issues with this. People see sarcasm as passive aggressiveness (which it can be a times).

If she didn't understand British humor, and she had no desire to learn how fun it can be, it wasn't going to work. She also wouldn't understand why running the television from first thing in the morning to last thing at night is a complete fail.

I was born and raised in the USA and I married a man from my country of origin. And while we waited to be able to file for his papers for the green card, I was living there with him. I couldn't get used to the diet. It was depressing, I literally for one second craved the lunches from the public schools of NYC. That's how bad it got. I grew up eating food from my country of origin BUT DANG the lack of variety got to me and it felt like we were eating the same thing every day. They have burger stands but that shit is fake meat. Nasty AF. I am stil with him and we have two kids.

I myself did not grow up being fond of the language due to the fact that I know I wasn’t good and other native Spanish or better Spanish speakers would just criticize on how I speak it
