You can get a hopper feeder with finned partitions that prevent the birds flicking it everywhere. I find them very good with growing birds.

Wish I could get a pelletized quail feed here. The one that I use is a crumb or crumble and I think they waste a lot more with it.

Good evening from England for my Quail i just scatter a few handfulls of feed on the floor for them as they do the exact same as yours and scatter it all over antway lol

I just got my self 12 female's 3 male's Coturnix quail i have 2 cinnamon gold male's 1 Manchurian Golden quail I named Him Golden boy LOL. I have 3 Golden cinnamon gold Female's 4 Tibetan Female's 5 Tuxedo Female's They are very tame for being quail not like some other breeds of quail that i have had in the past i have them in something sort of like (self sufficient me) has but not as big as his but when we get on to are own property i plan on building a pen big enough i can have over 200 birds in at a time to raise for meat but for now they are in a nice big out side ground cage where they can be quail in there own natural way.

I usually let all my birds have the winter off for laying but i guess my chickens didn't get the memo LOL. I have 2 Rhode Island Red ROOSTERS Brothers 5 8 month old Rhode island red hens 1 1 1/2 year old Rhode island Red Hen I get 5 to 6 eggs a day from them and i have no light or anything in there with them. I also have: 1 saddle-back Pomeranian Male 2 saddle-back Pomeranian female's ruffly 9 to 10 months old 1 Full black Muscovy Drake 2 1/2 years old 1 full white Muscovy Drake 1 years old 1 2 year old chocolate Muscovy female 1 1 year old black Muscovy female and NOW i have 3 male's 12 female's Coturnix quail which i am really happy i bought I wanted to get all 30 she had but my pen is just right I didn't want them to be over crowded even though i think it would hold all of the quail and still leave lots of room but i will be making another pen here next spring for the babies i hatch out.

What do you do about the rat hole showing at 4:10?Follow the link to 1:10 for a no waste feeder. Just buy a bigger flat container to suit your size

Have you ever tried feeding them home grown sorghum? I remember how you tried to feed them to hens with mixed results. I'm trying to figure out some strategies for where I live.

I don't think quail would eat it but no I haven't tried. But... what would be good is sprouted sorghum and I haven't tried that yet either however I have a feeling the quail would love it!

In case you need to "travel" for a week, will they survive with that bucket full of quail feed?

I do the same with my Quails and also throw course beach sand on the floor. I'm wondering how often you'd eat a Quail Mark, and how many eggs you get per day. I find they are a great little layer.

We eat quail about once a month in the season Sept - Mayish. Yes they lay more eggs then we need TBH! Cheers Andy :)
