Same thing with the bodybuilders and Instagram dudes who very obviously take steroids and lie about it. If you want to take steroids, fine who cares, but I don't understand the point of claiming natty when its obviously a lie. The general public doesn't even know whether or not prime Arnold was natty. If you're a natural lifter, anti-doping or no anti-doping, you're being made and will continue to be made to look worse unfairly, but the best hope of changing that in the future is to maintain anti-doping and try to make it more effective, not abandon it altogether.

Even on the Kaz team, there were multiple people in pissing distance of Ilya who also popped, like Vladimir Sedov, Zhassulan Kydyrbaev, Almas Uteshov, and of course when Ilya was a 105, Alexander Zaichkov, who got sent to Worlds as they thought Ilya had no chance of passing tests. Ilya spoke in the past of getting the President of Kazakhstan (not the federation president, the actual President) to intervene with him in team matters so he was obviously politically favored enough that he got to do what he needed to do to get to where he got. While I feel sad as Ilya seems like a kind and very personable guy, he got the opportunities even his teammates didn't get from the corruption. The corruption didn't just take away opportunities from a Clarence Kennedy or a Donny Shankle in a Western country who arguably could make better money doing something else (or as Clarence already is making money doing what he does now) but he took food off the table of other athletes on his own team from the corruption.

Back then i was just shocked, but now i realize the intricacies of using supplements and drugs to mask the illegal anabolics to avoid a positive result. this was just one story, and i have many more about romanians, ukrainians, hungarians, etc. that said, countries that i have found to be very clean and good anti doping protocols are germany, the USA, canada, denmark, sweden, belgium, and great britain.

Ill leave my grain of salt. I was an Olympic weight lifter for one of most prestigious universities in Mexico city. The coach got to panamerican podiums he was really good, trained with the Russians and the Cubans mainly. I started when I was 16. There were other even 14 and 15 year old. Test use is pushed since the beginning in most cases, it's ridiculous. But it was rare that someone trained there for more than 3 months without starting to inject themselves. 250 m g of test a week. They played on that dose almost all season which was about 9 months. More advanced athletes would pyrimd the way up to up to 750 m g a week. Our coach used to say how when he was in Russia they even injected with up to 1ml a day! Dianabol stanozolol, and all the other steroids were NOT rare. Literally everyday thing, you would walk to your training session and see the guys pinning right there in the "lifting hall" . I was thrown out eventually after refusing to pin myself! Even tho I lifted more than half the juiced guys. The crazy thing is they all competed in things like pan ams and world's... got medals and all while being "tested" I had some kind of moral and health worry issue with it. And it was crazy to watch it all from the inside. How normal and actually encouraged it is.

@@1baby yes the test used was a really cheap and famous test overhere, you can buy testoterone over the counter here. So the most common was a mix of 200 mg test enantate and 50 mg propionate. You can also get Bayer and sostenon 250. They really could care less about the type of test. It was almost always weekly injections. Eq was also used. Winstrol, deca pretty much everything they could get their hands on, & I mean it I remember once in the "lockers" this was one of the skiniest guys he was pinning test, winstrol and eq. And taking anavar and dbol orally I couldn't really understand how he ws so small taking all that stuff, he obviously didn't eat much... No kind of health test or measurements were taken AT ALL. No lab work or anything like that, was just like hoping on whey protein haha this was at college level I'm sure once you make the national team they start to monitor your health in other ways
