We just got back from the National Powersports Auction and we bought a stupid looking motorcycle for $12,500. The only reason I paid so much for it was because I couldn't test drive it when it came out!

I bought a pair of leather boots once and they did that crystallization thing like 3 days after I bought them, after returned them and got an entirely different style of boot I did some research and found it's called "salt efflorescence" and it happens to leather when oils or salt are trapped in the leather they migrate to the surface and crystallize

People piss me off at these auctions they end up paying more than what they can get them on the street for. You used to be able to get good deals at auctions but now people feel like it's a competition and they win something. When really the only thing they win is an overpriced machine

Its been almost 30 years sense I've seen a good deal at a auction either the auction house screws you or the people bidding love raising there hands the last police auction I went to I watched things like 2 craftsman weed whips that sell for 120 brand new sell for 130 and 150 used and bicycles that sell for 80 at Kmart or free in the garbage selling for 100 bucks that's when I finally gave up on auctions

I used to go to storage auctions and they were so awesome 25 years ago. Then shows like "Storage Wars" came out and ruined it for everyone. I bought a unit for $6 at one of my first storage auctions. There were probably only 10 people there. That was at least 25 years ago. Then the last time I went to one there were so many people you couldn't push your way up to the door (probably 200-300 people) and units were all going for several hundred. The auctioneer said "who is here because they like Storage Wars??!!" and the crowd cheered. That's when I walked away and never went to another storage auction. Pffft.

He’s a dealer. He gets loans by leveraging his business. The bank gives you money to buy inventory. You sell the inventory and pay back the loan. The faster you sell your inventory, the less interest you pay. Pay off the loan, you’re credit score goes up. Get a new loan at a cheaper interest rate and do it all over again. Banks make money, he makes money. Bottom line, he’s not using his personal wealth to make money, he’s using the banks.

Since I have plenty of time off, been catching up on videos. Fixing to turn 58 so bought my first large cruiser. Traded my Kawasaki er6n for a Suzuki intruder 1500. So far I’m really happy with cruiser. (Couldn’t afford a victory lol). Watched your test drive on a couple. I am grateful you made video of bike. Hope to be able to enjoy for quite awhile.

F650CS was my first motorcycle :D very slow and shaky, but really efficient and easy to learn how to ride. I switched it to 2002 Yamaha R1, sold after 5 years, now I am planning to buy new Yamaha Tracer 900 :)

Really .. except for the fact that when you come down hard enough times with someone carrying a little extra weight riding it you're blowing TWO sets of fork seals not just one. Also after a time when it comes to new rubber day you're having to buy and replace TWO front tyres not just the one ... and I'm wondering with this type of setup just how fast steering head race bearings and yolk linkage parts etc will wear out you could very well end up spending more over time on the Niken than you bargained for ... I do like the sound of the 850 motor though sounds like its got some real get up and go to it.

In the uk we have stuff called adblue which newer engines mix to lower emissions and reduce fuel consumption. When it dries it crystallises and looks like the white that was on the bike seat.

I remember standing room only at the auction with buyers from all over the country, now it looks like there were maybe four buyers in the room.
