I have a DJ set this this Saturday…it’s my first one out in the real world and not in the safety of my little indoor cave. trying to work on practicing more but how much to practice vs how much to just let things just flow on the day of..haha

TBH, let that shit flow. Just let yourself get in your zone and play for yourself! Of course practice the techniques and fundamentals, but don't put too much into making a strict set unless it's a performance. But yeah, get in a flow, that's when I DJ the best. You got this!!!!

Most helpful thing I learned is the first song you start with sets the tone of your set. So make sure it stands out and at a nice bpm range that pairs easily with other popular music just in case you need to reel in/control the energy of the room

I’m procrastinating on a novel I started writing at the end of 2019. I’ve been in workshops and have gotten into a couple of residencies/fellowships but I’ve been in a 8-month period of not being able to write another draft or do revisions 🙆🏾‍♂️ I’m hoping the Spring and being inspired by books I’ve been reading will help get me back into a writing groove.

been trying to hav a grand opening for my barber shop which opened in 2015…that’s what tf i keep putting off, it’s so much work and building and 3 rebrands and covid….its been a lot….but i would like to hav a open house/grand opening. since being on my own, i’ve just been nonstop working so there’s no time for a grand opening project. just been working nonstop…as a barber your pay check is small and depends on clients, im not big on credit cards, so its save and purchase this save a pay that bill save and redo the roof….but im still here. and thanx for your uplifting, i miss the comedic stuff but it’s still there…most of us get it! hoping all is well…thanx for posting.

oh god what projects *have* I started? I have a book idea about wasps that mind control people, I have a book idea about a girl finding out she has magical powers while living through the Witch Trials, I wanna make a concept album that's like a biography, like writing a biography but in song form. Also my favorite bad movie is called Tender Loving Care, it has John Hurt in it who spends the whole movie sitting behind a desk. Technically wasn't a movie, it was a 90s fmv game but they cut it into a feature length film at some point I think.
