Don't you get bored talking only to yourself all the time?
@chrissame
@chrissame 2 жыл бұрын
@@alterego157 See this is where being extremely introverted can become very unhealthy, its so so important to create a balance and not idolise introversion. If you can't create a balance, there is something else going on. It is good if you can, to have time for yourself, for sure, but to make it a constant? all you'll have in your life is suffering when you have to deal in unfamiliar situations as that is what life is, constant change, and the extremely introverted individual will have constant burnouts. If it becomes unhealthy then there is an underlying unresolved issue....which, too many people like to ignore and avoid going to the root of the cause, instead saying how happy and content they are, and how you should follow that path too because you'll be the same. While extreme introversion can bring a feeling of inner peace, you practically can't relate to other people because your needs become extremely paramount, you can become, or appear very apathetic, which then can make you unknowingly very self centred from other peoples perspective because they will be able to read your personality and make their own conclusions.

I'm a big loner. Not always by choice. I was not able to work due to a couple of severe injuries. 2 surgeries. And that was right before covid. I need a lot of alone time, but i definitely got very depressed over covid. I have a lot of famiky and friends with kids or that are older, so I was very isolated. I am now completely comfortable being alone now and got comfortable with the true me. I no longer need the approval of others and now have no problem leaving a situation or a person who does not bring me peace and happiness. I go out a lot on my own and feel no social anxiety. I simply won't put up with anything that doesn't serve me. But not in a selfish way. Just felt like sharing. You are an amazing artist btw. Im.glad your video came up.

I clicked on this because I have started spending a lot of time alone in the last few years, since before covid even. I just don't feel safe around other people because I don't understand their intentions and communications very well. I forgot that not everything has to be about being extroverted and social and turned up to 10, and that it's okay to just be quiet and alone. Also, I was so happy to see the Babylonian mosaics after years of tutoring ancient history and only seeing still photos.

I watched this today while I was drawing in the museum & my day couldn’t get more better, I can relate on to so many things about this video. Creative people all have one thing in common: Loneliness Sometimes it’s a good thing but there are also times that you really wished to spend time with someone who is also doing the thing you love. I am almost everyday in the museum. At first I felt so lonely, bored and a sense of senselessness and hopelessness why I keep on coming back .. but as i visited more often, the more hidden truths & feelings are unleashing day by day, suddenly you see things in a painting that you have never thought before ever existed, you get into the old masters mindset and communicate with them soulfully sometimes, of how they must’ve felt as well isolated in their ateliers. ( like Van Gogh’s story ) We artists are never lonely It’s the Art and the beauty of it that makes it our best friend forever! Being creative reconnects you not just to others, but to yourself .. It’s true that sometimes loneliness is when you miss a Someone or something so much you feel a physical, all-consuming yearning for their/it’s presence. But sometimes it's when you sorely miss your old self and just don't know who you are anymore. Sometimes it's when you feel alienated from yourself, your life or the present moment. When we work through our cutting loneliness by creating art, we suddenly feel reacquainted with ourselves. We remember how we really feel and what we really think and who we really are .. and that’s what makes Art special guys! Thank you for another inspiring video Valerie ,take care!✨

I understand the "feel like you don't belong" part of the video. I'm Hawaiian and when me and my family moved to Virginia it was a 180 degree twist from Hawai'i. People kept staring at me like I was a freak, made me feel like one too. No one understood my culture (and many still don't), one girl even sniffed me and said it was odd because I didn't smell like Spam. I got so depressed that I even contemplated suicide. Then I thought it over and decided not to and to ignore the stares, still made me feel unwelcomed but I turned that feeling into comedy because people never realize I'm Hawaiian at first, think I'm Mexican. I might not be welcomed but knowing I'm from a very interesting race makes me feel empowered.

I do lots of crafts, reading (all sorts of books) but mainly books that teach me, love to learn and I journal and have got very spiritual over the past two years into my crystals and meditation etc, I find this has helped me a lot with anxiety and self discovery. I do have lots of friends (as I live in a small village) but most of the time I do like to be left alone. Some people don’t understand this but I very much enjoy my own company. I think this is a good thing as I never get lonely. So nice to hear I’m not alone x

sometimes, when I was a child I felt very alone ( even though I had sisters to play with and stuff like that), but I liked to be alone and do several things; like painting for example, because then I felt at peace with myself, and it's like that until today, but everyone always see this as something negative and said I was isolating myself, but today I understand that this time alone ( with me and for me ) made me grow a lot, and helps me balance emotionally, it may seem strange but we all need some time alone ( with ourselves ). I really loved the video, like all the others it brought me an absurd peace, thank you for that. ( it's a shame that the color didn't look good on the furniture, it's so beautiful ) 💗🇧🇷

Hi Valerie! So nice to see you again in another super inspirational video. Each one brings, joy, sophistication and much love coming from you. Congratulations for pushing yourself to experimenting with new things. We all learn as we go. In no time you will find things come to you out of nowhere. I strongly believe when you give as you do, you will receive ten times more. Creating while alone is the best medicine for the soul. It allows you to know yourself better and bring out the best. Your creative nature keeps you moving and you are not afraid to experiment with new things. Best wishes and keep the videos coming. Love your art and how you motivate yourself despite your mood. Blessings and take care.

I think your content has become so popular because your videos give a somewhat intimate view into your way of thinking and I believe deep down everybody kind of feels the same way to some degree.

I just found your video and they’re very peaceful. I love art it is beautiful. My journey started in 2019 before the pandemic. I used a bartender and waitress for over 15 years and I was always the life of the party I have lots of friends and lots of social networks. I did a job transition as a certified nursing assistant and attended nursing school then the pandemic hit I’ve been isolated ever since not spoken to any of my friends not really had any social gatherings even though things are opening back up and I’ve just been concentrating on myself my children and just taking care of my home and my mind body and soul. I realized I worked so much over so long my body was eventually be getting to have a burn out so I’m taking the next year just working part time and staying home taking care of myself my kids my home and just enjoying life a lot more. I went to the park yesterday and I walked around with my dog and it was the first time I actually really appreciated being outside in probably about six months . I need much-needed rest. I also realize that I always done a lot of things for other people and I never really put myself first. The pandemic actually taught me who my real friends are and how to appreciate life more and to slow down a little bit because I’m working myself to death I have no time for family or any kind of relaxation at home. I really enjoy being home. Just working part time and then doing my online school at my own pace.

Thankyou🙏 I’m glad I found you😊. I’m an artist. Have some nerve damage to my hand. I can’t do my usual creative mischief. I have been feeling very sad indoors, to the point I’m just not even wanting to do anything 😢. I am so grateful for this video. 🤩

Thankyou... i needed this video sooo much. I let the world in and i lost the joy....i think you are right we need to test both extremes inorder to find your balance......You also need to block the world out in order to get that magic for art back.

This is the second time I watch this videos, I never usually do this but with your videos I can watch them over and over again and always come out of it learning something new. This time specifically, I felt what you said around 14:05 to be very intriguing. « nothing comes in your path that you cannot handle » it reminded me of my mother, teaching me about faith and how god never puts you through more than you are capable of handling. I always felt like I needed to be around people to be happy, and after a while of being alone i see a lot of wisdom in what you’re saying (I would have disagreed back then) but I do see now that being alone does me a lot of good, and I’m on a journey to finding myself and my passions. Thank you so much Valerie for the content that you constantly upload. There is no video out there that makes me feel more at peace and connected with myself then yours ❤️

Hey Assiya, yes I thought the same way but being alone for a while, showed me my true self and now I slowly connect back to meaningful relationships. Glad you feel this way about my content, all the best and a hug from me ❤️

Dear Valerie, you have such an easy calming vibe. I love it! Just like you, I too enjoy going to the museums that are near me or two States away. It gives me the opportunity to travel, learn, meet new people and even (sometimes) bring myself out of my comfort zone. Also, I must say you have a beautiful piece of furniture. I do recommend next time sanding it down, so that way the paint stays on the surface. What I did with my first furniture it was a mess, I should have gone with a neutral colour that matches my comforter, my previous furniture and curtains. But you know, you live and you learn. I do recommend you see the items you already own and find a neutral colour that ties the room together. I hope this helps. 😊

When the wall came down, I traveled with my school to Berlin. I remember visiting this exact museum. It has had a profound effect on my life ever since. Today is the first time I'm seeing it since 1989. 🖤

O.o using your table easel as a place to create a moodboard... uh, that’s genius!! 😳 it's honestly a breath of fresh air to hear your thoughts on this matter... people around me always think it's a bad thing for me to isolate myself, when in reality it's exactly what i need. So grateful for your videos and art 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you so much for sharing your philosophy on art, life. I’m going through a similar transition in my life, I admire that. I recently flew to New York from California to see the Jean-Michel exhibition. I had a such a great time being alone and seeing all the art, eating and seeing the sights. I make abstract art, music, and knitting. Thank you again for expressing yourself 🫶🏾
