Wim Hof saved my life. Been telling everyone that the breathing portion of the Wim Hof method has completely transformed my health. Did not tell them about the cold showers and ice baths. Figured that would scare them away. Asked so many people to try the breathing, some several times. Did even one of them try it? No, not a single one. Only 12 friggin' minutes. Very disappointing. It’s very similar to people that sign up for personal training or anything along that line. You can get a personal trainer at the gym to help you loose weight but until you find it within yourself to want improvement nothing will ever happen. Try to find people who are looking for guidance, or looking to take the first step because they’ve found a reason within themselves to want to improve.

Thanks for sharing with your experience, Sky. After having had Covid 19 and in a bad way, I decided to do WHM (I am 66 years old). I do not dive into the ice yet, but do take cold showers and exercise every morning on my terrace in shorts and t-short whether it is 60 or 35 F. But every time I am to take that cold shower or go on that cold terrace and say to myself, "You are insane", I remember what you and your friends did in Poland with WH... and I go ahead. Thank you.

We always see him as a guest on someone's podcast or show but never in the rough out there with all his students! I want to be there too. I have been taking COMPLETELY COLD showers for over 2 months now and I feel awesome! Joel to the 5th power! I have always been searching for something and doing all kinds of weird workshops throughout my life. I even tried the Tony Robbins techniques but Wim's techniques gave me the tangible results I have been searching for. My conditioned mind has been searching for my REAL self and I found ME! I lived with my children on a sailboat for 5 years at a moorage with 86 boats, two showers, one at either end of the dock. The PNW is not balmy. We moved aboard as snow season started. Cueing up for 6am showers behind 10 or 15 people automatically means your shower is cold because the first 2 use up all the hot water. It is a change in lifestyle, mindset, expectations, gratitude and use of resources. There is no downside. I am grateful they acquired the experiences, have them in the archive, in the event they want to reactivate this power in themselves. For me? I cannot live without the cold, the thing I hate/love, the medicine which literally keeps me able to walk and overcome a genetic vascular, connective tissue disease.

It's best not to shock your body when starting out, especially when you're out of shape. What I do is a take a normal shower, then lower the temperature until the water is luke warm, let my body adjust, then lower the temperature some more, again giving my body the time to adjust. The first time I did it, I was able to go to almost no warm water at all without it actually feeling horrible. The gradual shift gives your arteries the time to open up, your heart the time to pump faster, and you avoid the horrible shock of cooling your body with 20-30 degrees in an instant. Just slowly reduce the water temperature and you'll quickly be able to endure cold water without feeling cold on the inside, or shell-shocked! :) All the best and happy 2021 everyone!
@Demondoink14 жыл бұрын
@@jessep7464 I would say you can also start on the warm shower and then just turn it to cold. I would struggle to get directly in a cold shower atm but once I heat up and wash etc then I find it much easier cos then all I need to do is hold out for 30 seconds or 2 minutes or however long I plan on staying in for.

I really gotta find other people in my area that practice the Wim Hof Method as I would LOVE to get certified to do it! You have such great energy and I think it's great you are helping to inspire so many people with your videos! One day I will train with Wim Hof himself just like you did with the YES THEORY! My life's purpose is to spread as much joy, happiness, and LOVE with my music, as I'm a musician, and I really do think that the WHM is perfect for me. Thanks for all you do! Keep up the great work! :)

Great community you have here! I know a lot of beach volleyball athletes take ice baths after intense workouts to reduce inflammation. In fact, after the annual FIVB tournaments in Gstaad most players will submerge themselves in the ice cold stream behind the performance venue for recovery. Looks like it is not the most comfortable but exhilarating and really good for the body.

I'm experiencing a difficult time and intense emotional challenges which creates energy blocks and other negative issues and I really needed another tool to try to regain the balance I'd been searching for, I've been knocked further off track than I was before. Having your channel show up in my feed yesterday was a shot in the right direction, now I need to find the breathing video and a home technique to release blocked energy. I'd like to try reiki soon but haven't found a practitioner yet. Glad I found your channel, I'll be binge watching today. 😉

Great Video! I've done Tai Chi for 20 years now, and the meditaion and breathing are the same principle as Yoga and Vedic methods. I just recently discovered Win Hof and started incorporating his breathing method with my meditation prior to Kung Fu and Tai Chi practice, and the results are amazing. I also do hardwood flooring and am an arborist for a living, needless to say those are very taxing jobs on a persons body. Now because of the pain management I can practice Kung fu hard in the AM and then go to work with no problem all day, and still out work my co workers younger and older (I'm 44) because my energy levels are off the charts, and there is not too much pain anymore. I am gonna keep doing these methods and see how far I can go! Namaste and keep up the amazing work!

Most natural "drugs" are band because they cause you to think outside the government approved box, and you start to see through the bs. It's to dangerous to them, our leaders and rulers, not us. They don't care about us getting high, or else alcohol, tobacco, Robitussin aka DXM, etc would be banned. It's about expanding consciousness that they don't want. Stay ignorant, obey, work 9 to 5, don't question. That's what they want. They also ban natural cures because it doesn't make money. There are cures to cancer and other things, pharma doesn't want you to know. They need us sick to make all the money and keep it flowing.

I just started a week and a half ago and on my 3rd cold shower I can't get passed 10 seconds but I did go back under after my third time. I felt amazing like every cell came alive in my body. My knees stopped hurting completely! I'm a smoker of almost 30 years and I cut back from a pack a day to half. Looking to kick it completely and slowly change my life.
@everythingallin49054 жыл бұрын
Did you quit yet?
@KissMyBiscuits3 жыл бұрын
I was a 40 year smoker & quit 3 years ago. It can be done! I recommend buying tobacco & nicotine free herbal cigarettes (I like Ecstasy brand) because you will probably still crave the habit long after your body has let go of the nicotine addiction. It took several tries before I was finally able to stay quit so if you fall off the wagon keep trying! Good luck!

"Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates."--The Kybalion. The Law of Rhythm states that the energy in the universe is like a pendulum. Here you can see why disconfort turn into full bliss.

Sky, thank you for doing this series of video on ice therapy. I am looking forward to adding this to my plant-based style of living and accelerating my already vastly improved life energy. It was also fantastic so watch your back-story video on the yes theory documentary you produced with Wim Hof in Poland. That video initially sent me down this road of cold therapy concept and to blend that with my objective of long-distance cycling in the coming years. Thanks again.
