Great video as always! Awesome for the transparency on a taboo topic. Was expecting more mentions to the side effects and anything you personally have experienced in that way. For anyone reading, I have mates that were on gear for a few years as bodybuilders, powerlifters. One got a heart condition, another grew a mass in his testicles and another passed away from a heart attack, all were under 30 for those diagnosis’s. Obviously a difference between those boys and Josh’s use as he’s likely on much lower doses but there’s some pretty fucked adverse effects and we see a lot of bodybuilders passing away prematurely due to their abuse. I’m not anti gear btw same as Josh, for particular individuals it’s worth it if they’re incredibly educated and balancing all their hormones not just increasing test and HGH.

What are the negative side effects that you are dealing with now and what are the ones that might show up later down the road. You are telling people not to use it and that you advice against it, even though you are blasting yourself and only mentioned positive effects like more muscle mass, more training frequency and strength. I really appreciate your openess but also see a lack of reasons on why not to do it. I honestly despise people taking gear in combat sports, just because it is not tested and you can get away with it. You also say that you don't believe it is the missing piece, which i agree with, you need skills too. But having more training frequency, better recovery and more strength will directly relate to better skills if you train with the right people. I guess Dan Gable said it right: "If I knew the guy was on steroids, that would HELP me. Whereas some might think ‘oh, he’s cheating’ or he’s got an unfair advantage, for me you didn’t pay the price. You’re not as committed as I am. It’ll tear him apart. He may be strong, but all I have to do during that nine minutes of wrestling is loosen one single wire in his brain, make him do something that isn’t perfect, and he’ll fall apart. That’s what I feel." The day you started doping, was the day you stopped believing in your ability to do it on your own.

I totally understand your take on that but a couple of things. 1. Josh is not communicating that in any way. 2.Josh isn't responsible for folks misinterpreting his video. People will do what they want 3. People need to know if elite level folks are using. It's a shame when folks think all the people in a certain sport are natty, when in fact they are not. It's really dishonest and deceiving to young athletes. Prime example could be crossfit. All the top athletes supposedly pass drug tests and are clean, while PED experts claim that majority of the field is using. Young kids set unreal expectations on themselves by comparing themselves to enhanced athletes. I think hiding the fact people are using isn't the answer which leads me to the next point 4. Education is KEY. If young people are truly educated, they will do like Josh did, reach there genetic potential before using. Learn to train, eat right, sleep right, and learn how their body functions as a natty FIRST. In the meantime they can be learning so they can make a true educated decision if they want to use, and with enough info and guidance, can use as safe as possible without messing themselves up. Idk i just think education is CRITICAL. Education is what would stop teens from doing dumb things like jumping on dianabol only for 6 months straight. 5. I think Josh did a great job also touching on the fact that there are possible top level nattys in the sport which was a great point. I love that acknowledgement. I think that is another critical part of the conversation. I personally know some natty teens who are absolute freaks of strength. Most would swear they are on something but I saw how strong they were at 12 years old and it's unbelievable.
@pauldarthurs3 ай бұрын
@@FuelFitnessCo I agree Josh presented his thoughts in a well intentioned manner. I'm not arguing Josh's method though, he opened up about his PED use in a clear manner, and he is allowed to use them if indeed the sport keeps them legal.

In a sport where you can use something to increase your performance without any effort on your behalf (by that I mean the recover, strength and endurance increase that come at no extra effort), which most of the high level and successful for people are taking, promoting you are taking it will on encourage others to for two reason, first they will attribute steroids with success, and then second they will want the same advantage as their opponent. The fact people take steroids when all other sports have banned it while claiming to either be athletes, competitors, or sport people is wrong on so many levels. It basically says you couldn't get there on your own. Yes, it still takes skill, hard work and training to be successful, but this edge literally makes that easier to achieve, taking away from the extra dedication, endurance, and effort you may have needed to get to the that top level. And if BJJ carries on down this road all it is doing is promoting the use of something which has genuine negative side effects just to win.

Are steroids illegal? if the answer is yes, than it is cheating, regardless if everyone is doing it. Do steroids make you better at jiujitsu, I mean, training more jiujitsu makes you better at jiujitsu, and do you know what can help you train more jiujitsu? steroids, because you can recover faster, and train more with jiujitsu compare to a person who is not taking steroids. So yes, steroids can help you do more jiujitsu, and more jiujitsu = get better at jiujitsu.

Being stronger, having more muscle mass while at the same time still having a ton of cardio also kinda helps in BJJ matches.

Really love how open you are about this, and I believe the Enhanced Games are going to change a lot of peoples minds. Huge respect and no wonder you are becoming one of my fav people in jiujitsu. Definitely one of the intellectuals of the sport, and there seem to be very few.

Id say 30+ (masters) should be allowed to run. But young men have so much natural test with a proper diet and schedule. I wish i didnt waste my 20s, healthwise.

Why should 30 plus be allowed to roid up???
@colt15963 ай бұрын
@@Reflectionmaterial any shpuld be allowed. Idc. But imo men in their 20s will be much happier if they learn to utilize their natural levels. Then when they are in their 30s they will start trt and know their bodies. But thats just my old opinion

@@colt1596 how is that fair in a competition? Is it fair if you try to live healthy and you have to compete against roided up monsters who snore a line of cocain before stepping on the mat??
@MrRecica2 ай бұрын
@@colt1596if men are in their 30s and have low levels then there's something wrong with there lifestyle. Testosterone is still high in 30s and even early 40s (I'm 42). There should be minimal decline due to age in 30s. Decline would be lifestyle related. Poor sleep, stress, bad diet, bodyfat etc....50+ is a different story. Significant decline due to age.

Excellent video. No problem with people on steroids competing in competitions that allow it however i do have issues with people obviously on steroids competing in amateur competitions in which it is against the rules. It is still cheating whether there is testing or not if the rules say no steroids. However thanks for the video, I’ll be making sure my teenage sons watch it given that some of their mates are already experimenting

Mad respect Josh.Jesus christ man.Coming forward with this is not easy in the current environment.From a career standpoint and all the illusions young impressionable athletes are given.Hopefully this gets more high level competitors to be more honest about what the reality of the highest level of sport is.I'm sure there's something that can be done to make sport as fair as possible.We should be heading in that direction.
