When Comrade mentioned Deyemo, it reminded me of a story my mum told us in the 90's. If I remember correctly, Olubadan Asanke and Deyemo, two good friends went to Uk or so, they were presented snacks to entertain them as guests. The snacks I think was similar to puff puff, Asanke ate few from his and stopped, however Deyemo was eating profusely, non stop. Baba Asanke had to tell that "De'emo o ma ja 'ka tan, won ma n gbe eko bo" which translates to Deyemo, don't finish the bean cake, they are bringing pap. That's how Deyemo left the snacks, wating for wasn't coming. It was later that he understood Asanke was cautioning him to eat like a gentleman.

I think creation of Ekiti State was made possible through the efforts several prominent Ekiti people, with contributions in their diverse capacities. Prof. Sam Aluko may have contributed greatly towards it but we can not also discountenance the critical contributions of Aare Afe Babalola, Chief Deji Fasuan, the traditional rulers, especially the current Ewi of Ado Ekiti....etc. Moreover, the states created in 1996 were not created by fiat as being insinuated by the guest. There was a committee chaired by Chief Arthur Mbanefo, where memoranda were submitted and presentations were made by promoters of the proposed states.

The submission of comrade Dan on the possibility of Ibo presidency to apologize for January 15 1966 though seems tough and very difficult to assimilate by the Ibos but it is the bitter truth the Igbo nation must swallow to be fully integrated into leadership position of Nigeria. Continue denial that January 15 1966 coup was not Igbo coup will never solve the problem. Afterwards the whole Nigerians can then apologize to Ibos for unnecessary destructive civil war of 1967-1970. With this we can move forward as nation.

This man is knowledgeable but got some things wrong about Yoruba history. Although, Oyo became an empire, there was no time Ìfẹ was under Oyo. Oranmiyan the founder was once an Oni of Ife. Òyó became warlike and betrayed the covenant of brotherhood among brothers before they set out of Ife. The attempt for dominance caused the kiriji war as Ekiti resisted the plot and ended it permanently. So, Ibadan does not deserve any state status, she had enjoyed that in the betrayal of brothers. That any Alaafin would drag leadership with Oòni is absurd and unacceptable to the rest of children of oduduwa.

The Mid West agitated for their region because of the Yoruba dominance and sentiment in the Old Western Region. They killed everyone and didn't kill their people as if you were part of their plans.
