My family says I’m bad with phones when the truth is my phone works just fine, it’s right next to me, and I know you are calling…I just avoid the call on purpose and put it off until I’m ready which used to be the next day. Now it’s a few hours.

I'm the same way. It's always a family member that wants to hangout over the weekend or something. I'm introverted so I usually hate hanging out with people 😂. I'll never understand extroverted people at all. I understand wanting to party or go out on a date but hanging out in general with a bunch of small talk is torture for me.

FRRR Like sometimes its not that you dont like the person, your just probably in an uncomfortable or awkward place in a phone call, i honestly dont like calling and having conversasions because im just not intrested and id prefer talking to them in person. Sometimes it is a useless conversasion or your just wasting time on the phone when your not intrested in engaging on the phone but it doesnt mean you dont like the person. To me it just feels forces sometimes and theres no way out of it until they want to leave.

I don’t care if it sounds “rude” anymore. You’ve called me and that already started impinging on my time. I take my doodles very seriously. A caller assumes that you you want to speak and/or hear what they have to say. There’s my loved ones that I do, and the important one’s you Have to (payment is due by Tuesday.) Is it wrong to say “ok then, I have to go” when someone is telling you what they ate today-after telling you what they ate yesterday? 60 is around the corner and I have to find my 0.1 Micron pen. (Sorry this is so long.)

I learned sending a audio message is a nice medium. I can’t stand getting phone calls. Ironically the only calls l’ll pick up for are calls from people that normally don’t call, because I assume it’s important

I get insanely nervous when i get or give phone calls. Especially giving a phone call. There is nothing worse than calling someone you don’t know well and having an awkward conversation that will haunt you in your mind for months.

Phone calls are even more annoying for me where I live, as it’s compounded by the fact that voicemail doesn’t exist in this country, and I’m usually having to communicate in a language which is not my first language.

To me, the phone is a REAL DISTURBANCE!! It is a real WASTE OF TIME!! When applying for any job, as soon as I see answering the phone under responsibilities, I stop right there, and don't apply. Even at home, I stay as far away from the phone as I can!!

Can we please, please, stop characterizing introverts as “annoyed” at small talk. Small talk isn’t annoying, it’s stressful. You’re only propagating the characterization of introverts as jerks and a-holes.

Just because it doesn’t apply to you doesn’t mean it’s only wrong. It might be wrong in some cases as in yours. I’m an introvert and enjoy phone calls with specific people so I somewhat agree with you. I used to dread phone calls with other people than those few but I’ve learned to simply tell the other person that I’m busy when I get tired of talking.

Replace the word "introvert" with "autistic". That is my experience.
