Chevy and Jeep have worked out most of the kinks for their software. The big upside to new cars is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. They solve all of those issues. Tesla doesn’t have compatibility with those services yet so they have to make up for it by having a good base software.

Yes but for tesla to have those in the car all they have to do is over the air sowfware update compare to other companies u would need to buy a brand new car

I drive a 21 Chevy and the software is modern and very basic super easy to understand. So I feel like GM makes great software for their cars.

It's basically like printers. I had a printer engineer tell me that basically every printer runs the ORIGINAL software from the 1970s with patches for newer features. Even super expensive printers will have buggy software with hundreds of added patches.

I can't believe how car software truly is so bad. Like I would actually support Apple or Microsoft or even Google putting some good software into them and try to standardize more things. Tesla is the best by far so far

That’s been a thing and it’s call head unit swap 😂 I did with many of my car like my 2013 GT86, 1995 Porsche 911 and the 1987 Mazda RX7 FC, all have Apple car play 🤷🏻‍♂️ I did swap for my friend’s 2015 Honda a pilot too and it’s not hard

Car manufactures are not software developers. They think they can outsource the development to India/China/insert other country here. The software devs and engineers are in two different worlds. Also, Tesla doesn't fix the issue of looking down. You still have to take your eyes off the road to look at the CENTER of the car. We have half a century of Heads Up Displays in aircraft, yet no one can figure out how to put it in a car....
