It can but not according to Dive Regulations. That is the air supply hose. If you pull on it it can break then you are in trouble depending on depth and visibility in water.

keep it legal! Im gonna try that and carry a backup air tank with a rebreather. with a backup compressor hooked up while having the tanks what can go wrong? I would be on a hammock at the bottom of the ocean hanging out with the fish.
