Hello Baldeagle, I just bought a Cub Cadet LT1045. The engine locked solid, the gas tank is empty, oil stick is dry, and the sparkplug is also dry. I poured transmission fluid in the sparkplug hole and it's been sitting there for 2 days. It still locked solid. what do you recommend? Thank you.

I believe that mower has the Koehler Courage engine on it. You may want to check the case bolts to make sure they have not backed out and caught the underside of the flywheel. Here is a video I made a while back about that engine. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5XFdGOfZ9BmhpI

Yes it's a Kohler Courage 20hp. No I checked they are not. I've worked on lawnmowers for awhile, but I have never gone to the point of removing the heads and piston. That's a new area for me. I guess I'm going to research a bit on removing the heads and see what the piston looks like.

@@apbjap You may be able to see something through the spark plug hole. If not pulling the head is no more difficult than changing a carburetor.

Easiest cure for this issue, install a fuel shut off. It takes 10mins and saves so much frustration, and absolutely saves your carb.. your content is always spot on and very helpful for the average homeowner. Thank you for all the hard work you do to teach people how to fix their equipment and save money!!!!!

@@baldeagle242 your absolutely welcome, I had this same issue happen to me 2 summers ago. I filled my tractor up with Tru-Fuel after I was done mowing and went inside. The next day I came out I was gonna change the oil, I noticed my tank was empty, I thought to myself... Did my daughter go for a joy ride?😂 I then checked the oil and was like oh my God! Needless to say I fixed the issue. I ordered a new OEM carb and installed a shut off and never had that issue again. I recommend shut offs on all lawn equipment. Sorry for the long comment.
