The issue with fillers is that they spoil a lot of fun stuff for canon. And they are kinda bonkers fan-service nonsense. Like a man-dog you get in this episode. I would just not watch fillers before you watch Book of Atlantic. As a crazy ride before season 4? That's more like it, especially as its less likely you gonna drop the whole show before you actually get to the good stuff. 1:30 I watch it for you reacting, but at the same time - I have seen people be totally confused and bothered by the fillers. Especially later on when Book of Circus totally scraps everything, people just were questioning "why this character is back" or "why this character is suddenly not evil/good" or "why the dog-man Pluto is literally gone".

Personally, i dislike English dub because it's easy to miss out on what the characters are saying (I mean, I CAN BARELY UNDERSTAND MEYRIN'S VOICE LMAO) English sub is better to set a more serious & informative tone. The order you have to watch after Season 1 is Book of Circus -> Book of Murder -> Book of Atlantic. If you watch them out of order, there’s a character who won’t make sense. [SPOILERS] For anyone wondering, it’s Snake. In BoC, he’s introduced as part of the circus troupe. He’s the snake charmer. Then when everything about the circus troupe is finished, Snake leaves the circus and starts hunting Ciel down. Then we find him locked in the greenhouse in BoM as the “thirteenth man”. Ciel tells Snake his best chances of seeing the troupe again are to stay with Ciel (where Ciel enlists him as a new footman). In BoA, we see Snake board the Campania with Ciel and Sebastian.

It… would be cool to see Danny react to the rest of Season 1 and Season 2… However… I think the non-canon reveals a fair amount of plot twists in a really underwhelming way compared to how they are revealed in Book of Circus, Atlantic etc. As someone who watched the series in the order as it was coming out, I feel like those later moments lost so much impact because it was revealing information that had already been told to me in the most boring way possible. Would definitely love to see Danny react to Season 2 eventually…. But I personally also would love to see Danny’s reaction to Book of Circus and the movies first.

I'd say react to canon episodes first for the best experience and to avoid confusion. Season 1 episodes 1-6 and 13-15, then go straight to Book of Circus (all 10 episodes), Book of Murder (2 long OVA episodes), and finally the Book of Atlantic movie. This is because the non-canon episodes of season 1 'ends' the series (even though Black Butler is still ongoing) and then season 2 rewrites that ending and has an even more ridiculous ending. There are concepts, characters, and plot points introduced that will not matter at all once you get to season 3. Literally, the first episode of Book of Circus is an anime-only episode that was made to reintroduce Black Butler to people who got confused of seasons 1 and 2's non-canon episodes. There are also some reveals that get spoiled in non-canon episodes that can be underwhelming when they happen in season 3 and onwards. It's best to watch the series canonically so you get to experience the plot twists alongside the characters. More impactful that way. If you're still curious, you can react to the filler episodes after you're done (maybe it can be its own series as you wait for the new season). Once you know what's canon, you can find fun in the non-canon episodes, in all of its confusing, bat-shit-crazy, AU glory.

Most birthday cakes could be counted as a variant of charlotte cake. You use bread, crumbs, cookies or sponge cake to line up the form. Then you put a filling (jam, pudding, custard, fruits) it can be layered as well. Then it's usually baked again, if the filling needs it, but can be just refrigerated. Also usually a summer/holiday cake, which fits the idea of this filler episode. The name may be because of the Queen Charlotte, but there is no real actual evidence for it.

Okay, didn't see anyone else write it, so here is the right order of the canon episodes: Season 1 episodes 2 to 6 (Jack the Ripper arc) Season 1 episodes 13 to 15 (Soma and Agnis introduction arc) Season 3 all episodes (Book of Circus) Book of Murder (it has 2 parts) Book of the Atlantic (1 movie) Season 4 (yet to come) Also, some elements from the canon episodes that are different in the manga (possible spoilers ahead, though I tried keeping them mild): - Pluto, Angelina and every single thing related to them are filler. - The only supernatural beings that were introduced up till now in the manga are demons and shinigamis (grim reapers). - The dog village, the puppet maker and the angel "arcs" of season 1 are totally made up, so are most of the information leaked about Ciels parents or the Phantomhive servants. - The queen is not young (that's bullsh*t). She has a huge role in the manga and is shown as a highly intelligent woman and competent ruler.

Okay, just so you know, these episodes are not cannon. As for what episodes you should watch, I feel like whatever you feel is best. If you wanna follow the story, then skip the non-cannon episodes, but if you want to suffer through it like all of us did, go ahead ad watch everything. The only thing I'll say is if you choose to watch the rest of Season 1 and all of Season 2, then go on to Season 3 (and watch Book of Murder and Book of The Atlantic because you CANNOT skip those, and the upcoming season if you'd like), then you should keep in mind that everything that happed in season 2 and the other half of season 1 did not happen in the universe of Book of Circus and the movies. Certain characters don't exist and certain things did not happen and everything that happens up until then is just not important at all, it was like one huge fanfiction.

@guycrew3973 So, a loooong while ago, someone came up with the "fact" that the author originally intended for Ciel and Sebastian to be in a romantic relationship. This was based from the idea that since Toboso (the author) had a couple of yaoi doushinjis under the pen name of "Yanao Rock", they also intended Black Butler to be of the same genre. The rumor gained strength because the protagonists in one of their doushinjis are quite similar in appearance to Ciel and Sebastian but, being familiar with Toboso's old style, these similarities between characters are not uncommon at all, since it was as if there were but three types of faces (man, child and girl) they drew over and over again, only ever changing hairstyles and clothes. Also, as I stated before. Toboso and her editor are both under GFantasy magazine, which carries a variety of manga of the SHONEN genre, therefore, Toboso even planning to publish a yaoi manga under said magazine and being told by their editor, K-san, to change it was simply not possible to begin with. Sorry if it's too long, I might have gotten carried away a little haha 😅

I was doing my hair years ago, just needed something in the background to play, and I saw this anime title. From episode 1 it became an obsession, and I regret nothing! It basically goes season 1 episodes 1-16(I'm not entirely sure I haven't read the manga in a while) but episode 21 is worth watching for the servants backstory, then skip to the two movie Book of Atlantis and Book of Murder and lastly season 3 (The Book of Circus) and then season 4 awaits!! But you can go back to watch the filler if you'd like, they're entertaining and chaotic but make the story line a little more confusing. 💜💜💜

Speaking of the soundtrack, the show is scored by Taku Iwasaki (also worked on early JJBA, Noragami, Bungo Stray Dogs, so many others), and I love it! It can get goofy, but it can also be super unsettling, like you mention around 12:56.

The best order to watch this show in would be: season 1 ep 1-16 season 3 (book of circus) Book of murder movies Book of Atlantic then the rest of season 1 and season 2 cause they are still fun...ish but they spoil too much for the movies and the reveals in that are awesome if you don't know ahead of time.

Well it should be season 3, then ova, then movie, but yeah, you got it for the most part. I don't mind you watching the non canon stuff, just feel its easier not to be confused if you watch it in order first and then watch the canon otherwise its trying to figure otu what is and isn't canon, plus that spoiler at the end of season 1 which will be a huge reveal in the movie. For reference Book of Circus, Book of Murder, then Book of the Atlantic for order after episode 16 for season 1. Already seasn 1 is setting up the non canon ending with a few of these episodes as the dog is not canon and will never be seen again after season 1. Also season 3 has a bit of a really cool reveal as well that is shown in season 1 but not as impactful as it should be if watched in canon order so another reason to do canon first then go back.

I would skip the non-cannon bits and then react to them afterwards. Because like many others, when I first watched the show, I didn't know about the absolute mess season 2 was and it legit ruined the experience for me. It would be so much better to experience the story the way it was meant to be first.

No.... please watch it all!!! Season 1 is a contained story on its own. Honestly its currently better than the cannon and season 2 is the best in terms of fan-service and lols! Yes fan-friends you can fight me on that. BB isnt finished in the manga or anime. It is totally better if Danny just goes through the whole experience like a new fan would.❤❤ love you all. But seriously as a honest fan of the show watch season 1 and 2

Make sure to watch the movies *after* season 3! Season 3 is directly after season 1's cannon parts (in terms of the anime), followed by the two OVAs, Book of Murder, then the movie, Book of the Atlantic.

@@Marille7982 Well, there's season 1 (half of it's botched and non Canon) Season 2 (entirely non Canon and ridiculously funny for the wrong reasons) Season 3 is Book of Circus, it's almost entirely Canon. The 2 OVAs cover Book of Murder and are also Canon Then there's Book of Atlantic, the movie, still Canon. There's also the upcoming season 4 which follows the school arc and should also be Canon.

I think I would prefer you to watch the canon stuff first then maybe go back and watch the fillers if you want to. I feel like the fillers make things more confusing and they also slightly spoil some future stuff. I remember the second season just being very uncomfortable and very confusing, so it's not really something I enjoyed watching. Also just in case you don't know, the canon episodes in order are: -season 1 episodes 1-6 and episodes 13-15 (episodes 7-12 are all filler and also on ep 15 there is an anime original plot line that happens) - Book of Circus which is 10 episodes - Book of Murder is a 2 part OVA but it is still canon - and then finally the Book of the Atlantic movie (the new season that will be coming out takes place after this movie) If anyone wants a more thorough guide, I would recommend the video "What's Up With the Black Butler Anime?" by pocket con (I also recommend pocket con for anyone who likes Black Butler or wants to know more about Black Butler. They do a lot of deep dives into Black Butler content!!)

It’s just that as far as I know they weren’t sure if black butler would do well as an anime so the series wrap up starts at episode 16 of s1. s2 was them going “oh shit people like this, how do we keep it going when we wrapped up everything”

19:08 you're right the butterfly like snappy hair clips are more popular as they can keep more hair together. But anime usually uses hair clips that look like a line when closed around hair. The hair clips remind me of pine needles (you can google a picture for better reference) when not in place. These types of needle hairclips are used to push back the hair and ofc for decoration. They're more aesthetic and thus people may not know about them. They can also be used to pin back hair in more elaborate hairstyles, where because of their smaller and more sleek design, they can be his in the hair. Just thought I'd give some info :)

I think that if you want to really appreciate the story, the best way to watch is to follow the canon: 1. Watch the canon episodes of S1 2. Watch S3 aka. The Book of Circus 3. Watch the 2-part OVA The Book of Murder 4. Watch the movie The Book of the Atlantic 5. Await S4 / in the meantime watch the filler episodes I do agree with many people here in the comments that the filler will make for great reactions, but as someone who is a manga reader and really appreciates the story, I wish I didn't watch the filler episodes when first going through this series (I began reading the manga after watching the anime). The filler episodes do spoil certain things and generally just cause confusion when you're eventually thrown back into the canon in S3. The story of the filler is not good and it is 100% based on the fanservice. Had I been older than 13 when watching this for the first time, I am sure the filler episodes would have caused me to stop watching. Additional manga reader tangent here about the fanservice: yes, it does exist in the manga as well, but somewhere around volume 20 the story gets to a dark enough point where the fanservice is no longer necessary. The difference is quite stark. Also, I do think that the manga (bl)fanservice is quite tame compared to the filler episodes of the anime, except for say the infamous corset scene... Edit: fixed a typo
