I had a terrifying out of body experience long ago during an intensive silent meditation retreat. I simply went too far - wanting to be somewhere that simply doesn’t exist here on the physical earth realm. I used a weegie board years ago, We were on a Catholic sleep over. The board told me I would hear something at 12 midnight. There were 2 huge Windows beside my bed. Exactly at 12 p.m. The Windows opened with such force. Years later a few young girls who had a weegie board. After I told them what harm will come when they used it. That message is consistent with Swedenborg's perspective, Ryan. I think we can communicate with good and evil spirits, but it can be tricky knowing the difference. Evil spirits are happy to engage with us because they want to manipulate our choices and spread confusion and misery. Good spirits, on the other hand, are less engaging, because they do not want to affect our freedom, and so we need to seek them out. I taught my children and grandchildren the dangers of trying to contact other realms, particularly of the Ouija board, knowing the pressure of a moment of curiosity, egged on by friends who don't understand the danger, can wreak havoc. I explained to them...would you drop down into a dangerous city, where you knew no one, and did not speak the language, and trust the first person you meet? God has provided a protective layer so that they're normally not aware of us. Seeking to open that connection to the spirit world risks letting those harmful spirits become aware of us, and to start to harass and attack. Excellent advice! Scripture tells us in 1 John 4:1 "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." I think over time, we have seen individuals who have been false prophets leading people astray.

It seems, from my understanding of what Swedenborg reported, that he was learning how to identify spirits, the very evil ones especially, by getting infested by them. This means that he was engulfed in the auric field of the malign spirit. This was always an uncomfortable and painful process for him, as it seemed as if he was trapped and lost in a hellish state and might never recover. However, Swedenborg would, in an orderly way, discern what the basic motivation of the spirit was, and by this was able to overcome the infestation, but now with new armour and immunity to an entire class or species of spirit. One of the most valuable gifts of the Holy Spirit is the ability to discern spirits, and it is learned best by means of direct experience. Swedenborg, though he suffered severe discomfort, grew to enjoy infestations, because each one was a new accomplishment in discernment. He was able to speak with spirits and ask and answer questions, so in the case of the student of discernment, it would appear that speaking with spirits has its proper place. Fascinating insights, Ken! Thank you for sharing that! I would add that Swedenborg also attributed the protection and preparation from the Lord and angels to part of why he was able to withstand and withdraw from those hellish experiences. We can't know exactly what that looked like for him, but it seems that his strong faith in God and good and truth were a huge part of keeping him safe through these experiences, and I think that's a good practice for anyone trying the same! We might think of it as being able to connect with a place of love and peace, and not let ourselves get caught up in the manipulative tactics or very real fear that evil spirits can generate. Have you found these things helpful in your experiences?

I am usually pretty upset and a little fearful during one of these episodes as they get more severe as I progress. I might add that as As Swedenborg reported, my experiences with evil spirits are always preceded with a broken glass object. It started out with a broken drinking glass many years ago, and gradually proceeded to the current case which began with breaking four large plate glass panels, each in a strange 'accident'. This is a whopper of an infestation!!!

I've been reading Wilson Van Dusen's book, "The Presence of Other Worlds," which I suspect would interest you since it talks a lot about Swedenborg's history and what he learned, and how that shows up for us in modern life. Van Dusen influenced Jerry Marzinsky, who we have interviewed in a few shows including this one: "The Lies Evil Spirits Tell Us" kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5LUlWx8ndirpsk In the new century translations of Swedenborg's works, the process of undergoing spiritual trials in the other world and letting go of things we've clung to is called "shatterings." I wonder if the broken glass you see before an event is an indication that this is what you're going through? In Van Dusen's book, he says the higher order spirits (angels) allow evil spirits to work within us in order to bring to light the things we need to face and work on. This seems consistent in Swedenborg as well. We all go through it one way or another, but for some of us it's more clear, and it sounds like perhaps that is what you are going through! Of course, I can't know your experience, but I'm always fascinated by the ways correspondences may show up in our lives! Swedenborg didn't say why broken glass was used as a sign of impending infestation, but it has been very reliable as a sign from my experience. It seems appropriate to me. The large sheets of glass were broken one by one in a short period of time in the strangest flukes. I spent a lot of time and care getting the second hand glass home, as I have quite rough roads with river crossings and lots of bumps and holes, so it was quite alarming to get them home safely, then have them broken one by one in a short space of time. It turns out the infestation was massive, and I feel that it is still going on after many months. I have been engaged in some very serious warfare during that time, and it is getting pretty rough. Thank goodness for the Lord, who makes it all understandable and bearable. I used to wonder what the phrase, 'hunger and thirst for righteousness sake' meant. I know exactly what it means now!

i have experienced spirit my whole life, but it is definitely an on-again off-again thing. I usually get visits from recently departed family but not always, i usually get the "feeling" when people talk about departed love ones but it is temporary. I think if you are sensitive to them like I am you need to let it go and not try to dwell in it. If they want to reach out to you they will. If you need to talk to your god and get a response he/she/it will. but to live every moment craving it or relying on it to move in your life is a mistake. This life is a school. We are here to experience it, not be led through it. So take a deep breath and know that we are ""THAT"" close and relax...they are always around you, no reason to talk, just be along side of them .

Every time I've prayed to my spirits and guides, they always answer. It's usually with images. How do I know it's an answer from them and not just something I've made up? There are feelings that come with the message. One example is I asked my spirits "who can I put in a complaint to once I die? My life has been a mess and hard to deal with, so who do I register a complaint with in Heaven?" About a week after that, I got an image of me behind the Customer Service desk. I was the one who could answer my own questions. It's odd to describe but the feelings and images create a message that's easy to decipher. It's always based on love and truth and it's always a feeling like I'm hearing advice from a friend I've known for years. It's always personal as well. I really appreciate and cherish those times I've asked for clarity and received the answer.

That's a powerful example, Christopher, and I think -- like in your vision -- you've answered your own question! Swedenborg makes the radical claim that ALL our thoughts and feelings flow in from the spiritual world, so even if "you've made it up," it's still coming from outside you! The fact that you say it's always based on love and truth says a lot. I think that's one measure: If it's helpful, positive, reassuring, hopeful -- that's probably coming from good spirits, because evil spirits don't deal in those things. If it's a vision that puts you into fear, despair, and the like, chances are the source is not heavenly. Even if you aren't able to determine with 100% clarity whether these images are "real" or not, I would go with it, and trust that God and goodness are working with your intuition and your heart to learn about yourself. Anything you experience that helps you learn something or grow in some way is good, right? And Swedenborg says that God is guiding our spiritual path every second, towards our highest possible happiness to eternity. So it sounds to me like you have some wonderful, helpful, fun guidance going on! What a blessing! I can relate to this all too well! There's a "FINE LINE" I also can tell when those bad spirits are trying "pretend" to be good spirits and infiltrate, this happens easiest when a person is sad, depressed, angry,... this is why meditation is so important. This is why channels like this, and The Beautiful People that run the Swedenborg Foundation are very important to tap into! My sister is a psychiatrist in the military, she just made Major! She went into the military six years ago as a First Lieutenant all because she had the background and education to help others, take the suicide hotline, which my sister also works in. When you pick up that phone and call and say you need help, that's when the bad spirits lose and the good spirits win. When I was so sad and depressed a year ago I didn't want to be here anymore, I was browsing for something positive to tap into cause,I had lost my faith. And I found you all! I thank God for that everyday. It was like I filled up with Spiritual helium. When I feel like the air is leaving, I get a double dose of this beautiful spiritual food.😇

What does Swedenborg say about discernment? Why can’t some people recognize evil when they see or hear it?

You didn’t ask me but your discernment filter comes from what you’ve been putting into your head. What you watch, read, the company you keep, your habits/decisions etc. Are you filling your head with what’s good and true or false stuff. Filling your head with what’s good and true will allow you to calibrate your filter allowing you to have a pretty good intuitive idea on what’s good and true as it comes (or at least what you've accepted as good and true). As this relates to sprits, I’d suggest speaking a blessing of love and light over yourself when receiving or before receiving information that’s from a sprit. The wrong sprits will flee from love and light because they prefer darkness/falsity. The other thing about spiritual information is we will always filter it based on what we have accepted thus is why interpretations can be different. Even positive good hearted people do this. This is not necessary a bad thing especially when the individual remains open and is willing to continue growing. But even in that, you’ll likely still grasp the subjective meat of the message that’s beneficial to you at that particular time. The rest may come later as you remain open. My info is based on studying NDE'S, and Swedenborg data...but I’m no expert like Curtis so corrections welcome.

Interesting question, paula. The terms in Swedenborg that were traditionally translated as "will and understanding," have been rendered in a more modern translation as "volition and discernment." Swedenborg says we have these two parts of the human spirit so that we CAN rise above whatever feelings/loves/emotions we're in, to look at them with some objectivity and make a choice about whether we want to stay in that state. And I think Gilroy Joshua makes some good points -- it's what we have in our mind and heart that creates discernment and conscience. So it's important to feed ourselves with wholesome and nutritious spiritual food! But it is amazing somebody can "read" things so differently from the next person. I try to remember that God is leading us all on a unique spiritual path, and that we all need different lessons and learning experiences. Trying to trust that Divine Providence is over all and leading us all to the best possible end!

I have sometimes felt jealous if people who seem to have more direct access to the spiritual realm. It would be so nice to get a little direction and support from angels in an obvious way. But I always come back to Jesus' statement to Thomas: "You believed because you have seen blessed are those who believe without seeing.". I think there must be some value for a lot of us in learning to trust God despite the thick veil. If He says it is blessed to believe without proof, who am I to argue with God?

If you really want to see pay attention to the things that keep repeating itself to you. Faith comes by. Things tailored to your journey are right in your face and in your reach. Just simply look. If you notice a repeat or an abundance of something just acknowledge it. It will acknowledge you. Ex..my son wanted to know how to get started. He didn't notice that he was talking about frogs being in his yard. So many that when he cut his grass he was chopping them up. In the morning a frog was stuck on his front window. I said son look at how abundant the frogs are. Frogs are one of your words. Frogs are amazing. Then he noticed grass pallets on lawn trucks. He took a picture and sent it to me every time he saw the grass pallets. He said they would show up every time he thought about my dad. My dad just died in December 2020. The last job my son and my dad had together they were laying grass. The last time I spent with my dad we were looking at Jaguar Paw. So I communicate with him through jaguars and my son communicates with him through grass pallets. It's that easy. It will always be personal so you can't follow an evil spirit. It takes practice but it's happening all day everyday. You just have to slow down and look. No religion or special skills. Just look at what keeps looking at you. And don't deny what you're seeing. Play along. It's a message developing for you. It's like pic toe gram..how ever you say that word. Puzzle pieces.

😳 This explains _SO_ much!! 📻🎙 In KZbin videos where (so called) "paranormal researchers" take a spirit box into abandoned/haunted places and turn it on, you will normally always hear these statements come through the box: "Who's there?/Who is that?" and "Please help./Help me." So that's why spirits are confused and asking "Who's there", because before the living came into their space and talked to them directly, they probably had no idea they were near the living world any longer. And then the next thing they do is ask for help. So sad!! And a bit freaky...

Yes tried to contact my dad who died when I was 13 thru the Ouija board. At first we accused eachother of doing it. Didn't know i had an uncle who passed until the board told me. Curious i played alone with the board and self isolated..it became my obsession. Invited friends over to witness what I had accomplished over time. One knock meant yes, two knocks no..putting the board out i no longer needed the device but just ask it questions. My friend and I being the only two in the house, I had my friend ask a question..the two knocks came right under where she sat on The wood floor..she ran out of the house screaming ...which at the time I laughed and found it amusing..many other things happened unfortunately..I decided I will confront them (assumed there was more than one)..I asked the spirit if it was Satan, no knock i asked again..it knocked twice...slept on the couch a very long time..my friends got together and asked me to go tell a priest. I did...when I started telling him , his eyes got red watered...told us to burn the board have everyone present when I do..was given holy water..still slept on the couch a long time...gave my speech in college, someone asked me if I watched the exorcist..it had recently come out, but none of us had gone to see it, yah you heard some stories but didn't seem that similar..all because a kid was trying to contact their father who passed to soon. Don't do it...please

Ive never talked to spirits but perceptions, thoughts, and understanding are all spiritual things, communications internal that try to teach us, guide us, lead us. One of the best videos. I've been meaning to look up Swedenborg's teachings and this has been a pleasant introduction. In response to your invitation/request at the end, let me tell you about a personal incident: A couple of years ago one of our dogs, named Heidi (a beautiful bullmastiff) was suffering severely and nearing the end of her life, so in desperation I prayed to the Creator for assistance on what to do, so either to have her euthanized or to aid her full recovery. Shortly afterwards I went to sleep in a state of agony and as I was laying on my right-side the most awful sounding voice -like a man who has been evil for many years- spoke clearly, slowly and directly into my left ear saying, "Nein, nein", and I immediately awoke to check if there was anyone else besides my cat and I in my room which, of course, wasn't the case. At the time I wondered why anyone would tell me a number twice for no reason, thinking it was "Nine, nine", but then it dawned on me that the voice sounded German and could have been either due to a subconscious reaction, a hypnopompic hallucination or an external source. Now this hasn't happened again since that day and I've mentioned it to quite a few people. Despite the terrifying experience mentioned above, I did not stop meditating on the meaning of it during a stage of my life when I was a simple deist believing only in a Supreme Intelligence who doesn't grant an after-life to any of His creations/creatures. However, that belief would change as I would in a dream be confronted by a dark/grey slender man who would try to intimidate and scare me, until I stood up to him, pointing out that I could sense/see him with my spiritual eyes and that he was of an unholy persuasion. Several subsequent occurrences of a similar kind then opened my eyes to the possibility that I might have had a spiritual attachment starting in my early teens which influenced my actions and caused severe anger, anxiety, depression and resistance, thereby stealing joy from me. As the awareness of that attachment grew the better the ability became to show the grey man (without direct communication) that his "evil"/dark condition was not all his fault and that it was part of a facade to hide his own hurt and shame which he then -instead of focusing on mending his unhealed emotions- had turned into violent treatment of others, especially women. In short, it would appear that evil (i.e. the result of encrusted error) is especially drawn to/by extremely negative situations -whether it may be caused by us, by others or simply through the workings of nature- and this is typical of the law of attraction which is even more pronounced in the spirit world where entire communities/plains/spheres exist that contain individuals who think, feel, rationalize, believe and behave the same way, making progression out of those less desirable levels more difficult. That is why it is important while still in the flesh to work on personal soul development and increase perceptual attunement to the spiritual side of being. May the reader be blessed by the Divine Love delivered by the holy spirit that truly saves.

I love this topic. As you see by my name “ask the spirits” is what I do. I’m a EVP specialist I use radio frequencies to speak to the spirits. I also use different apps to speak with them. From experience. I have seen both and felt both sides of the coin. Remember Eve who took to much power to use for herself. So we live in both worlds via the soul. The soul is now our higher awareness. Our body is our lower awareness that we grow out off. Symbolically Eve took higher awareness back down to lower awareness. The original plan was to grow upwards and leave lower awareness behind. But now our consciousness is focused here. Focus is the key. So as left eye has pointed out, focus on the bible and you focus on Gods higher awareness. If you do this you focus truth into the world of awareness. A word of warning. I have thought deeply and been given information that the aware world finds bitter. It reacts badly to the truth. I have literally stood between two thoughts. This is the dichotomy of this world which creates thought, questions, growth. True spirit will show you something to make you aware. Earthly spirit will talk to you to absorb power from you. Often, I just want to 'iron things out' with people in the spiritual world. Yes, I love people like my father, but with many cravats. My father was chaotic in life, yet not nearly evil. He expected to be forgiven, and he constantly was forgiven, then he would bring extreme destructive chaos back into our early family life. I grew up in a 'project' because of his chaos. I did not hate him for it, but the last decade of his life I abandoned him after he did some hideous things aimed at my mom when she was passing. I even talked two siblings into staying away also, and do not feel a bit guilty as it was not punishment, just necessary to get away from his destructive chaos. Yet there was good times that I love my dad for, and if could have been wiser than kids are capable of being, I would have extended those good times. I had to fully understand how he'd gotten so chaotic, and I had to understand how I personally had triggered some of that chaos. My mom had named me after my grandfather, and my grandfather was worse by far than my dad in every way. My dad felt guilty about beating up his dad at 16 years old. My grandfather deserved the beating, according to my uncle (my dad felt too guilty to talk about it). My dad caught his dad beating his mom with a razor strap, and that 'set him off.' I didn't know about any of this as a child, nor even about being named after my grandfather. They made me into the, sort of, reincarnation of my grandfather, who my dad had lots of confused and guilty feeling about. So I grew up confused and unsure of myself also, yet not as confused or chaotic as my dad, and not near as much as my granddad. I became very 'monkish' got wrapped up into martial arts and even more meditation. I did like to play games (one of the few things I shared with my dad, and his whole side of the family), and I became an excellent chess player too. Somehow, through all of this, I've had a very happy, even blessed life.

And it sounds like you had the wisdom to maintain clear boundaries with your father, so as not to get sucked into the chaos. @@offTheLeftEye Well, I do talk to my father and mother from time to time, from my mind's eye, so to speak. I believe they hear me, and sometimes I sense them, yet I'm not Medium or even a Psychic, any more than a typical guy. My mom was loving, and that was critical, yet I noticed some short-comings with her dealing with my younger brother (who I adore). My mom saw us as stuck in the lower-middle-class, and she seemed to believe it was a mistake to shoot for too high. And, that could mean not necessarily finances, but even mental attributes. I loved true scholars, even during childhood, for their mental quality, their integrity in searching for and revealing truth, and that's something real scholars share with real artists (Truth, Beauty, Integrity). Both my older sister, and my mom to some extent signaled I was reaching too high. Later, my brother was getting an Accounting degree, along with much computer training, and my mom would talk about him having a 'beer income with champagne tastes.' He did achieve the Professional Middle-Class level. I'm 100% sure she's happy with his accomplishments now. Both my older sister and my mother were blessings to me, and I'm sure they loved me deeply, and both helped me from what could have been a nasty existence. My older sister was a puzzle as she mentored me with vocabulary and reading at a very early age. By the time I was barely over 3 she had me reading comic books, and I loved it. She was also a very good nurse (RN), but her own children were latch-key kids (neglect) to the point where her first two ran away to become Carnies for 2-3 years. At her funeral last year, I had no sense of her 'presence.' Her oldest son had passed several years before, and I could definitely feel his presence at his funeral (He was very happy). Her daughter at my sister funeral, did not hate her or reject her, but her youngest son did reject her, and said he didn't consider her to be his true parent. My younger brother and I still sent out love to her as a sibling. My sister's mentoring toward me was a profound blessing and not to be expected considering her later behavior with her own kids. I could count a number of other blessing, but her efforts will do as a great example.

Melissa here, and I tend to believe that everyone is a little psychic - or at least spiritually perceptive. Since you gravitate towards spiritual practices like meditation and martial arts, I suspect you have enhanced these gifts in yourself. Trust your intuition about who is with you! Swedenborg wrote that our most ancient ancestors could communicate directly with spirits and angels, but that over time, we lost this ability as we distanced our selves from God (see "The Spiritual History of the Human Race" for more: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnqzeHiwn556d8k). I am sorry for what your sister and her kids went through. Perhaps she felt the best she could offer them was gainful employment and financial stability, but sacrificed her presence and involvement in their lives. It sounds heartbreaking to have two kids gone for years, but I am happy to hear that she brought such powerful mentorship and love to you. Perhaps she gave them the same when they were young enough, and that love they had early on sustained them in some way during their wandering years? Of course I have no idea. But you say your nephew was happy at his funeral, so I feel comforted by that! Maybe he had the exact journey his spirit needed? I hope you sense your sister's presence -- perhaps it will be a longer journey for her to find her true self and feel comfortable communicating with others. From what you say about your mother telling you not to aim too high, it sounds to me like she was trying to protect you from being disappointed, but really expressing her own insecurities. I have seen this often in people! I have to sometimes stifle that instinct in myself, as a mother! We think we're preventing people from future heartache, when in fact articulating those fears can be more painful than failure itself! I hope people come to see failure as an opportunity for growth and learning, instead of something to fear and be ashamed of! It's a necessary part of life, and can only make us wiser and more successful, so long as we learn resilience! It's amazing what we can see in our parents, and our family. Especially when we are on a spiritual journey, it can be hard to relate to people who were on a very different wavelength (although we cannot really know another person's spiritual journey). But we each learn in our own way, and we have to hope others are on the journey that is right for them. I find a lot of hope in Swedenborg's idea of spiritual heredity - that we collectively, and individually, work through hereditary issues and slowly, with each individual, make progress on how we approach the world. I see generations of work that led to your journey, and can see that you have done a lot to reset the balance of order and love in your family, and in the world! I think that is a beautiful thing, and I think with practice we get better at it! Your work will make life easier for someone else! Working nights at a school I had many different experiences and what happened last night was what brought me here. Last night I bent over to pick up a pencil and I heard a muffled creepy voice say my name. I had my earbuds on so I thought maybe a teacher came back to get something and decided to say hi or bye to me. I turned around and nobody was there. I felt something next to me and I was a little cold and had goosebumps. After I had to walk by the room a few times I would feel it looking at me. That was a second time one tried communicating with me. A week before a coworker and I were in the teachers lounge. We heard a faded moaning. It sounded like one of the disabled kids we hear down the hallway. As it got to the teachers lounge door it got louder and the moaning sound was turning into it trying to form words. Now I'm freaked out. The doors opening, finding a broomstick laying over the bathroom stall and other creepy things were bad enough but these things trying to talk to me now is going too far. Other schools some of the janitors and staff have actually seen them. Once I see a child and it disappears like the others seen then I'm sooo done

People have found help in reciting the 23rd Psalm or the Lord's Prayer or a favorite verse of scripture. I had an NDE and crossed over, I also had my mother visit me in spirit, also In my early 20's I was haunted by the spirit of a 7 year old girl, (Long story) Two of my dogs also visited me in spirit form about 8 years ago, I saw them float into my room, they were transparent, just an amazing sight, I was almost in tears, I loved those dogs so much, they came to say goodbye. My little dog Scooter floated right up to me and touched my nose, I wasn't dreaming, I was sitting up in bed and they just appeared right through the walls. I have seen so many paranormal things that even before I had an NDE after a heart attack I knew that there was an afterlife. I learned not to talk about my experiences too much because people just thought I was talking crazy talk, in fact at first I thought maybe I was just seeing things, The little girl was the first spirit I had ever seen, that was terrifying. She had been killed in an accident by some guy who owned my brothers' van before him, I just happened to borrow it, I heard about the story of the van but didn't really believe it until I was driving the van one day and someone recognized it and was friends with the guy's girlfriend that accidentally backed over the girl. He said they just wanted to get rid of the van, my brother traded his car straight over for the van, even after knowing the full story of the van, my brother drank a lot and this was a really poor decision on his part. The guy who recognized the van told me the full story, the little girl was riding her bike and the former owner of the van was backing out of his driveway and didn't see her, running her over and killing her. Just a horrible thing. I quit driving it after that but she followed me for a few years, she haunted me, I don't know if she thought I was responsible or just haunted anyone who had driven that van. There's more to this story but I don't want to make this a novel. My NDE was amazing, I was transparent, no pain and I felt like I was wrapped in a warm blanket, I've never felt such peace before, except I quickly realized how permanent this was and then became apprehensive and anxious, I wanted to come back, I felt a little cheated, sure I felt this peace that I had never felt before but I just felt a little cheated, it was really cool to know that our consciousness doesn't die but I wasn't ready to leave the physical world, it wasn't like I had a choice though, then as I was sitting there in some other plane of existence, I fell asleep, for some reason I knew that you don't sleep in the afterlife, so I knew I was back in my body but I was asleep, I was consciously dreaming, I was totally relieved because this meant that I was coming back, then I woke up on my bed surrounded by paramedics, they all looked a little freaked out, I was clinically dead for one minute and they resuscitated me. There's a very thin veil between the physical world and the physical world but I might as well had been a million miles away, I didn't float over my body as some people do, I fully crossed over into some other realm, I'm pretty sure it was my time to die but I was lucky because I called 911 and the paramedics were there to revive me the second my heart stopped.

Thanks for the video. I've personally have had many experiences on the subject that your talking about, and to this day I still do on a constant basis. I never sought for these experiences they came on there own. When I was led by the Lord Jesus Christ to find the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg I felt at home because my experiences were the same as his. Spiritual Diary was the book that like the most because I thought that I going crazy before reading that book. Swedenborg writings me to deal with these spirits, good and bad. To this day I don't seek them but the stay happen. However whenever I say to these spirits that I am a free will being and I can choose to listen to you or not they leave me alone. People would probably have more of the experiences that you're talking about if they would only remember that they're in control of those spirits, good or bad spirits as long as they are on this earthly realm. I wish that I could talk to you one on one because I have a lot to share that I wouldn't dare share with anyone else. I concluded by saying; I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for Emanuel Swedenborg along with Wilson Van Dusen. 🙏🏿 The saying that no man is an island is so true, because even though your physical by yourself spiritually you are never by yourself. If you live long enough these things sort of become intuitive and you tend to avoid or gently walk along side then pass by these spirit influences. To me these spirits have infiltrated and grasped a huge portion of our population in present times unlike anything our world has seen. I think for people who have a practiced, active spiritual life, it can be easy to discern between good and bad. But that may not be true for everyone. One time I saw a tall shadow standing next to me in my room, and it paralyzed my whole body, I couldn't breathe or talk, but its grip on me would only last for a few seconds. This attack went on over and over again for maybe 10 minutes until the last one was so powerful it knocked me out of consciousness (that last time I looked at it straight in the eye--or where the eye would be since all I could see was pure darkness). Any idea why that happened? Was it the work of someone's witchcraft against me or just a random evil spirit passing by? This other time I was rudely woken up by paranormal activities. My bedsheets were shooting up in the air, and my bed was pulsing where I had been laying down. I moved the sheets out of the way, and sat there feeling the pulse for a few minutes as it gradually weakened and ended. I've had other strange experiences like being out of body when I was little and things like that, but those two I mentioned were the strangest of them all.

I like to think evil spirits were trying to get me to be fearful of the pandemic, but failed miserably. The paranormal incident happened in 2014 during a particularly stressful period. It may not occur to you in the middle of a dream visit like that, but perhaps praying before you go to sleep is one way to approach it -- put yourself in God's hands for safekeeping during the night. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you -- some people struggle with night terrors no matter what kind of spiritual tactics they try, but I always hope things will get better for them! I have clear memories of walking in beautiful gardens and talking to people dressed all in white clothes (I think they are Angels?) We interviewed sleep researcher Ryan Hurd on our episode "Where Dreams Come From," kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5PJk4GcaLSjo7c and I later got his book on sleep paralysis, something that's happened to me a few times. It's a short book, and fascinating. Hurd says we can turn these shadow experiences into good ones, and he suggests asking the figure what it is there to show you, or teach you, and seeing its presence as an opportunity for growth instead of fear. He said doing this in his dreams immediately changed the feeling of the whole experience, and even altered the appearance of the visitor. Of course, you have to be lucid enough to do this in a dream! And I think prayer would also be useful. Perhaps a combination? I haven't had a dream like that since I read about it, and so haven't tried it, but it's interesting to me that people who have guided psychedelic experiences are also told to approach frightening trips in the same way - asking what it's there to teach them (see Michael Pollen's book, "How to Change Your Mind"). Seems like an interesting correlation to me! I hope that can be of use to you!

And yes, you definitely should use caution if you're engaging in this. @@offTheLeftEye let me answer that question for you and save you a LOT of time. You're right. Spirits are around us all the time. When I first became aware of this and discovered I could communicate with them, I was obsessed. I would speak to spirits every day; sometimes multiple times per day. I would also do "experiments" with them: can you tell me what color shirt I'm wearing? They can. Can you tell me how many fingers I'm holding up? They can. Can you say my full name? They can. Can you tell me what number I'm thinking of? Sometimes, they can. But if you think spirits can give you the winning lottery numbers, tell you when or how you will die, who you were in a past life, or any of the things I presumed the dead may be privy to, you'll be disappointed. Largely, the dead know no more than the living. However, it still confirmed to me that we live on after physical death, and that spirits are around us literally all the time. For most people, myself included, this was a huge revelation. And I still say hi to them every now and then. But it isn't like it was 10 years ago. I largely lost interest in it once I figured out I'd learned all I could from them.

Several months ago, I had a temporary interest in people who channel -- I don't know if that stuff is genuine or not -- but supposing it is, some of them seemed to have an egoic thing going -- or, alternatively, what they were saying was tempting *me to get into an egoic place. I feel like, you know, even spiritual beings can have ego problems sometimes, and we don't have to take someone as credible when they're having that kind of problem. I think the Scriptures say somewhere that we shall judge angels. I know I don't take myself as credible when I'm having an egoic moment or day, and so I don't need to engage with other being that are having a bad day, either.

Yes, we do also include quotes from some of Swedenborg's unpublished works, such as Apocalypse Explained, his journal of spiritual experiences, his outline of the inner meaning of the Biblical prophets and psalms. Swedenborg wrote a vast amount of text, and could only bring a portion of it to full completion and publication, but there is still a lot of fascinating and useful information in the information that didn't make it to publication.

@@offTheLeftEye just another thing that is nice to know love. Being both spirit and physical has helped me in so many ways. I have made friends out of these words and objects. It felt good to know that I was being watched over by things no one would give credit to. In July I was given so many death words like this is bad, I don't think we can fix it this time, we really don't know what to do, there is no other case like yours, my doctors cried because they love me. I had a horse, a star, a purple 💜, I had the crucifix on my wall. I was reminded of the rings inside the wood on my headboard. Jesus hangs on the cross and I sleep at the bottom of his feet every night. I kept seeing TV shows with silver Spoons in them, the jaguar was present, the number 3 was very over protective of me. Then the names of my two nurses while I was at a 10% heart fraction was Sage and Serenity. My cousin Angelica was on my mind and when I looked at my blankets they were called Angelica. While listening to Anna a story about Jesus grandmother a nurse walks in by the name Anna. She gave me the most encouraging words and talks. You see you need friends. I only focused on these simple things and my end result were...it's like this never happened. Your heart is back at 55%. I didn't panic too much. I consider these little things the word of God. I felt like all of my heavenly friends were there. The Sunflower 🌻 never left my side. At first I thought I was imagining these things until I went to New Orleans. I was greeted by two huge purple hearts. They were next to the house I was staying at. My friend spotted them time we turned on the street. Before I left for new Orleans I did a video on Dream. I met Mr. Dream. The house I was staying at had the word Dream in gold letters. Before I left I had seen all of my friends, like in the hospital. One friend was on my mind and I wanted to see it. I was asked to make a cup of coffee. When I opened the cabinet all of the cups were lined up neatly. One cup jumped out at me. It was my friend that I was looking for. It was a pineapple 🍍cup. Pineapple is a very good friend to me. I almost dropped the cup and everyone saw the cup jump out at me. I couldn't hide it or stop it from happening. See I'm telling you these things because you are God's presence. Objects animate around you that are tailored to you. The word comes by hearing like Faith. Faith is alive just like us. This is how you get a deeper connection with spirit. You can't be mislead if you stick to your friends. They won't let anything happen to you and I am living proof. This is the teachings people died trying to explain. I follow the word because it speaks, and walks, and can show up anywhere at anytime. Only you will know unless you teach someone else. My signs even protect my loved ones and gives messages to them. If only you knew how they comforted my family while I was just in rejection last month. I was about to die but my sign got louder and more aggressive. I had no choice but to listen to them. They saved my life and stay at that hospital the whole time and even brought more friends. Don't be afraid to be both. Both worlds need us.

We just need to know how to tell the good from the bad so we don't fall victim to harmful spirits. I'm not Christian, or any religion. Though I like many of them and their stories. Anyway, spot on- don't dabble in the occult. Talking to spirits is a part of that. At any given time we have about 7 non-physical beings sharing the house. Some come and go, some are just passing by. Occasionally we get a passer by that needs to "pass on/go to the light". None of this is invited, we're more like beacons or lighthouses. Anyway, it can be frustrating. In general we stick to ourselves and just let things be but one one of em chooses to be annoying they can be difficult to get rid of. and we're mostly in the kiddy pond. This is the shallow end of the pool. Don't play w/ stuff you really know nothing about. You could end up in the deep end w/o a life guard (and prayer etc doesn't always work).

I want to ask something. I have sinned many times and I have felt insensible which is very bad. However I really want to improve and be closer to the Lord, do I lose salvation? I used to receive visions from the Lord last year but now I weakened and have received nothing, logically, because of my lack of time with God. Will I go to hell?

Right now, you can make a new start, and the Lord is with you to help you make that start. Right now, you can stop doing the sin, and start connecting with the Lord again. The past does not matter. What matters is what you want right now, and what you choose to do today and going forward. I often asked spirits and tested them. Using Swedenborg's laws (love of the world and self, control and death) I could discern them quite fast. I asked God a lot but she didn't reply, though to be fair I swore at God and said I would kill her 100x or more when I was angry and other curses and threats. Maybe a bad spirit with me. Either way God does not talk to me much, even when I ask nicely and I'm asking for guidance on a good thing.

Yes, Luke, it seems to me that most people never hear God's voice in answer to a prayer. But sometimes answers come in different ways -- an opportunity arises, a chance meeting occurs, a new idea pops to mind. I try to keep my eyes open, so to speak! So great that you could discern the quality of spirits by your test questions. Keep using those good boundaries!

I think it's the fear component that some neg entities delight in, that makes individuals vunerable and prone to influence. People should make sure that they dont fear spirits or detest evil before trying to connect. It's human fear and disgust that they are after. And if you think about it, would you continue communication with your living loved ones if it keeps freaking them out? I know i wouldnt, no matter how much i missed them. If you easily get scared, do not attempt to connect with just random spirits. I recon that fear must be a rare comodity in the afterlife, and when someone feeds off of it, they would have to look for it in humans. Did this come from spirits? 😂 i dont know, maybe 😂

Did Swedenborg say those who've passed on come to a stage where they don't recall the earthly life they've lived? In aboriginal cultures in Australia the names of people who've died become kuminjay or body so as not to hold them back from being taken along the song lines of their skin group by those who are waiting for them. A respect for those who've passed by not interfering in the process of transition.
