To say “redemption” is to imply that he did something wrong and that’s why he needs to be redeemed. But Ahmed Best did nothing wrong. He just did his job. Very happy for Ahmed Best who gave a excellent performance as Kelleran Beq. I saw a video that claims he might have made a brief cameo as Beq in Revenge of the Sith when exiting the temple with other Jedi during order 66. Very impressed with his use of the double bladed Jar’Kai form with an aggressive motion.

I’m gonna be honest I’m happy with the outcome of how Grogu escaped. I had a small theory that it might’ve been Barriss, but even that didn’t make much sense. Besides we don’t need 95% of cameos of iconic characters every time. I’m glad that it ended up being a random Jedi. Seriously though the theories of it were ridiculous like Mace Windu, Maul, Anakin, Reva, and just any popular character saving the child was just bad thinking. Thank the writers it didn’t actually happen.

@@adventurekitty101 Kelleran definitely has a bit of that Windu look to him, but yeah he was honestly the best one for this senecio. I love Mace Windu so much but let’s be real here “he’s dead”. He’s a fan favorite which is why people are making the theories that he survived. But this would complicate things by a pretty significant degree. Part of Anakin’s fall to the dark side was betraying Windu and having Sidious kill him. I know Mace didn’t receive a fatal wound anywhere besides falling out of a 115th story building, but this would just make things difficult compared Revenge Of The Sith to the new canon. Just very glad that it’s Kelleran! Hope we see another flashback revealing his true fate.

I think senator Jar Jar is actually the contact that helped Kelleran Beq. Not only did he play Jar Jar in the prequels, he then played Kelleran Beq. So he gets to double down on saving Grogu.

I think this shows a lot of the thoughtfulness of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. To bring in an actor that was so negatively affected by his role in the Star Wars universe and making him a major part (despite very little screen time) in the story is just top notch. I’ll be honest… I didn’t know who the Jedi was or that it was the actor that played Jar Jar at the time of seeing the episode. I learned about it from videos like this one. And it made me much more appreciative of the role and the minds of the creators.

I think it’s very possible that it was not Padmé but Jar-Jar who organized Grogu’s escape. He was (I believe, correct me if I’m wrong) the senator representing the Gungans at this point. He would have certainly remained allied with the Jedi despite Palpatine’s accusations. He would also, most importantly, have access to Naboo soldiers to help rescue Beq and Grogu.

Kelleran Beq restored my faith in the essential goodness of the Jedi. I had really come to dislike their dogmatism, their insistence of foregoing emotional attachments, and so on. Honestly, those silver naboo ships seem to be used by naboo royalty and senators. Pretty sure padme had nothing to do with the escape. Don't know if palatine would make sense. But naboo had another senator, who could be behind helping jedi escape. Jar jar binks would own one of those ships. And I do think it would be very Jon and Dave to take one of the most hated parts of the prequel trilogy, and turn him into a pivotal hero in the modern star wars universe.

I find it funny that as right now the only Jedi knight/masters we know to survive thru nightfall were none combatants but staff. Jocasta was the librarian and bek the gym teacher. They could fight of course but their job was education not war.

The craft likely belonged to Jar Jar. With captions on, you see those are Senatorial guards. Given that we know where Padme's ship was at this time, unless there's another Senator from Naboo, then it was Jar Jar's ship. Very fitting that Jar Jar helped rescue Grogu in two capacities with the ship and his actor.
