According to basketball reference Paul Westhead's highest ranked team was La Salle in 1974-75 which was #7. Highest team ever finished in the AP poll was Loyala Marymount in 1987-88 when they finished #15

Norm Nixon was the point guard and Magic wanted to play point instead of the 2.. So not only did Paul Westhead get fired Norm Nixon who happened to be a very good player was sent to the Clippers.

Nixon was traded for the draft pick that became Byron Scott. Scott was a perfect fit with the Lakers and Magic and was starter for 10 seasons until 1993. Nixon had a few good years with the Clips but his career was basically over by 1986 bc he suffered an achilles injury. That trade was an absolute Home Run for the Lakers who did not make many bad trades in the 80's.

Everybody hated Darvin Ham. It wasn't just Bron. When TV commentators are questioning the head coach, it's wild to just blame Bron.
