@@Sleepy0173 yeah, but it's not just that guy in the archetype. Older ones like Aquarian Alessa, and Evocator Chevalier had a condition and a cost respectively. Given the hoops of gemini, neither should have had to do anything but activate the effect. Gemini's are such a cursed mechanic, like compared to all the other niche mechanics in the game like counters and unions, gemini's just feel like they don't need to exist. One of the best ways they could fix Gemini monsters is to change how there 2nd summon is treated, make an effect Gemini monster treated as 2, e.g. An effect Gemini monster can be used as 2 link material or 2 xyz or even 2 tributes. A concept for gemini: a link 1 that takes 1 Gemini monster and allows you to summon some other kind of gemini monster from the deck with a different name or like the same level, and its considered an effect monster but cannot use its effect until Gemini summoned. This way gemini decks that open 5 geminis can at least go into anaconda/dragoon or halq or something

I have a soft spot for them, what I wish is that they just give Gemini monsters just a boost. Like let them have an effect that is based off of how it is summoned, with no this is treated as a normal monster that just hurts geminis in general. Like a Gemini monster that if it is normal summoned normal summon a Gemini monster on the field/hand, with an added bonus effect being that if it you control a Gemini monster special summon if from the hand. Just give Gemini two effect, no treated as a normal restriction, because I think that is what is holding back Gemini monsters so much especially Chemcritters. Another think like you said is they need xyz to only need one Gemini as material to summon. But one thing I thought of is give them a rank two xyz that on destruction/removal from the field normal summons Gemini monsters used as material or in the graveyard like how in science matter can not be created or destroyed.

What that card theme really needed was a method to let you special summon them from your hand using maybe a continuous spell or a field spell. Like maybe it was where it was you can special summon one gemini monster from your hand or graveyard by discarding 1 gemini monster. That would of helped them by a decent margin. Just having a way to special summon them initially would of helped them.

Once per turn you can detach 1 XYZ Material and banish 1 Gemini monster from the graveyard and if you do you can destroy 1 card on your opponent’s side of the Field then if you do that you can attach 1 Gemini monster in your banished pile who’s effects have been activated to this monster. I actually remember Chemicriggers fairly often. Mostly because they come up whenever discussing Gemini’s, if only for catalyst field.

Considering I've been out of the game for years and just recently learned about this archetype through Legacy of the Duelist, this marks the second time I've thought about these cards in my entire life.

Geminis need a card that reverses the downside of geminis to regular effect monsters. So your opponent will play with the restrictions of geminis and you will play normally

They are so adorable and the best support for a monster type that sorely needed it. I wish they were better.

I love my Chemicritter deck! Throw in a Dragon's Mirror to bring out Superalloy Raptinus and Tuning Magician to bring out Black Brutdrago and it's a fun meme deck that surprises most people I use it against. The new support that came out isn't the worst for it either. But no its far far far from meta lol

I recently bought some Invasion: Vengeance boosters that were lying around at a card shop and pulled one of the main deck monsters. Had to think really hard until I remembered them lol

I love Chemicritters! I’m a sucker for gimmicky decks/archetypes so these guys are right up my alley. Definitely hope they get more support even after Dimer Synthesis. :)

Every so often my mind wanders back to Chemicritters, and what it could have been. I really like the concept, and most of them have functional effects (Not you Hydragon), and if Konami ever decided to try and revitalize Gemini, I'd really like them to make more Chemicritter support. I think there's potential for Gemini, they just need support that works with the dual-nature of them being both Normal and Effect monsters, as well as some easier methods of summoning them. Hell maybe a Gemini that can summon itself from hand before needing to be GemSum'd (Sacrilidge I know). While I don't think Gemini can get the same kind of overhaul that Spell Counters got, they could definitely be made more playable, and honestly that's really all I'd want from them. Also because Chemicritters have really cute art and I want more of it.

Probably focusing on the Level 2s there'd be a way to utilize something like Tri-wight (revives 3 of them) and then abuse the extra Normal Summons of the engine, and turning the crabs into Toadally Awesome. Honestly I remember I had ideas for this but never quite got to a specific build that worked out the way I wanted it to. It doesn't help that Gemini Spark only works on exactly Level 4s so I couldn't use it if I went that route.

There's a fusion monster which turns every Gemini-monster on the field into an effect monster. I've always wanted to try it out in Duel Links, but I never did.

Honestly, of all the tiny pack-filler archetypes, Chemicritters is the one I would love to see get some legacy support to make them at least viable for casual like a link monster or 2 that allows geminis to gain their effects or even just chemicritters if not all geminis. Just the concept of combining small, elemental based monsters into bigger, molecule based monsters is interesting to me. I would also be ok with making them into almost an og elemental hero type deck by introducing some fusions that are various combos of the base element monsters assuming they got more base elements.

Its been a couple years for me. Around the time that the Blue-eyes white dragon set/structure deck came out. Catalist force (field spell mentions Lv 5 or higher gemini summoning); made me try to make something with them and after reading the critters I stopped basically.
